This is a Vintage Dakota glass drugstore/candy/apothecary canister type jar. This is a tall canister measuring just under 11 1/2" including lid and 4 3/4"w x 4 3/4"d. The Thumbprint pattern lid has a ground stopper. As well as the opening to the jar. The jar has two mold lines and the lid has three mold lines. There are some typical manufacturer"bubbles" inside the glass. A tiny chip near the bottom of the lid and a tiny fleabite on the inside of the stopper part of the lid. The ground lid also looks great but has a few chips around the bottom base as well along with some slight discoloration. You are bidding on a antique Dakota? pattern patterned glass lid for an apothecary or drug store jar. This lid has a tapered ground base. I do not know a darn thing about these lids so I am going by what I see other sellers say. Take a close look at the pictures so you can see what you are bidding on. If I am off in my description I would be thrilled if someone let me know. The outside measurement of the base is approximately 3 1/2" wide(diameter)It is approximately 3" tall. This lid/top is f ree of breaks. Cracks, chips or discoloration. One small"circle on the top(see pic) but it is right in the glass when manufactured. Dakota candy apothecary egyptian jar country store salesman sample
I believe this is the smallest size Dakota Egyptian candy jar to find in this pattern and often referred to as a"salesman sample" size. Ground neck to jar and lid. Jar body is in excellent condition. Crystal clear glass and no sickness. It appears to be a two seam mould with 18 thumbprints around the outside. The top has a few tiny bubbles and just a hint of sun-lavendar, 15 thumbprints, 3-mould pattern- could use some buffing to polish up. Sits down into jar slightly. Overall height measures 3-1/8" with lid. Let me know if you need additional photos.

RARE EXHIBITION SIZE 17" ANTIQUE DAKOTA APOTHECARY DRUG STORE JAR CANDY BOTTLE
Here we have an early ~ DAKOTA APOTHECARY JAR IN A RARE 17" SIZE ~ we recently acquired out of a private estate. There was an old note inside that states this JAR WAS USED TO DISPLAY DRUGS BY THE UPJOHN CO AT THE COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION IN CHICAGO 1893. We could not find any other examples that were this large. And believe that it was actually made for an exhibit at the 1893 Worlds Fair. This apothecary jar measures 17 inches tall by 9 inches across" in the middle" and it weighs an amazing 9 1/2 pounds. It is in very nice condition with only a few little chips around the ground edge of the stopper. The top rim has a few tiny little flea bites" not bad" and the base does not have and chips or damage. This large apothecary jar is quite impressive in person and in the second picture I sat a 12 ounce can of soda next to ... moreit, to give you an idea how large this really is. If you collect rare and unique apothecary items, this would make a wonderful addition to your collection. Here's a rather hard to find and very desirable Dakota jar that belongs in every collection! Measures almost exactly 6" tall. Making it the smallest of the Dakota jars except for the very scarce 4-1/2" salesman sample jar. Embossed VACUUM OIL COMPANY and very likely a giveaway promotional item back around the turn of the century, it is in excellent condition with clear glass, jar is perfect, lid has only tiniest fleabite probably done in manufacturing when lid and jar were ground. Dakota globe jar, 8 inch, apothecary candy store show jar, small size ground fit
Nice clear example of the original Dakota jar in the 8" size. Only 2 sizes smaller including the salesman sample jar. Very nice condition with 3-4 tiny nips on mount as seen in pics, and a small bruise inside stopper. These jars are hardly ever found with out some sign of usage, so this one is quite attractive. Ground fit stopper and mouth.

Check out my! This old Dakota glass drugstore jar/general store candy counter jar is 8 sided and 12 1/2" tall with lid. It has the columbia swirl and ground glass frosted element at the top of the jar and bottom of the lid. It has limitations indicated above. It is 5 1/8" across the top with a circumference of 17 3/4" It was from my Dad's counter jar collection and has not been cleaned or refurbished in any way. It will be double boxed for the perilous USPS transit.

PRISTINE 33" COLUMBIA cylinder apothecary candy show jar largest size not Dakota
What can I say? The rarest and largest of the Columbia Sample jars. The massive 33" tall version, in absolutely mint condition with no chips, cracks or flea bites. None better anywhere! Only indication it was ever displayed is a tiny rub or two. The lid fits perfectly and is clearly the one that originally came with the jar. We'll pack carefully, double box and insure. Dakota Tiffin EAPG Glass Ground Jar Lid 3 3/4" Apothecary Candy Drug Store
Here is a glass lid for a candy or apothecary jar. This came from the estate of a collector. The base of the ground stopper has an outside diameter of 3 3/4" with the taper widening to about 4" though this last measurement is hard to get precise) This had a sticker with it that said Dakota lid. It has 15 of the"thumb print" type impressions going around it. It has a ground glass base. Three seam lines. Very good condition. Only has a few minor small scratches and the inside lip has a few sand grain sized nicks(see last photo) and one sand grain nick to outside rim. This will be safely packaged.

This Beautiful Large Apothecary Jar is a one of a kind! The lid is so pretty and has ground glass on the large stopper section. The body has some small bubbles. The rim/mouth of the jar is also ground. The shape of the body is rectangle with the cut corners to add detailed charm. The lid does have thumbprint designs and the top is shiney with a very pretty bubble design(see pics) The mouth of the Jar is large enough to stick you hand inside and will look very nice in any room filled with just about anything you can fit inside. Pieces like these are getting harder to find and it holds the quality of days gone by. Size: 11" tall x 4 5/8" wide. Rim top- 4 1/2" wide, lid- 2 5/8" tall x 3 3/8" wide. THIS AUCTION IS FOR AN ANTIQUE APOTHECARY JAR. This is an absolutely stunning jar! It is huge! Pics really don't do justice. The jar is crystal clear. It has a thumbprint pattern on the lid, the top of the jar and around the base. It measures 15 1/2 inches tall with a pedestal that is 7 inches in diameter. The ball part of the jar measures 25 inches around. There is a small chip on the under side of the lid, but not on the piece that goes into the jar. It is not easily seen. There is another small chip on the rim of the jar. It is not seen when the lid is on the jar. I have added pictures of both chips so there isn't any mistake about the condition. It is a fantastic piece and very old. Up for bids is a Very Nice Antique Dakota Drug Store Apothecary Jar. This is 9 1/4" tall with the lid. 8" without the lid, and 4"wide in the middle. There is a curving line 1/2" long on one side about 3" up from the bottom. I found a flea bite on top of the bottle rim with my fingernail. I couldn't find anything on the lid except the number 35. These are not bad flaws but should be mentioned. For its age its in Great Shape. I pack well and mail asap. Antique Square Clear Glass Dakota Apothecary Jar Canister Ground Lid Vintage
Glass Clear Square 9.5 inch Canister or Storage Jar. With a ground glass lid in the Dakota or Baby Thumbprint pattern. Both jar and lid are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. Please note in photos 4 and 5, on the lid are two tiny areas on the lid. I can't call these chips. I think they are bubbles from manufacturing that are causing rough spots. You be the judge. The canister measures 4 and 5/8 inches in diameter at the top, is 5 1/8 inches square at the base and stands 9 1/2 inches tall with lid. These square canisters are very hard to find. I am also listing the 6.5 inch canister that matches this one.

Vintage Large Dakota apothecary jar 13 1/4" tall 15" with lid 7" wide
Vintage large Dakota apothecary jar probably made by Tiffin Glass. It is 13 1/4" tall without the lid and 15" tall with the lid. It is 7" across at the widest. It is in good condition except for some roughness at the top on the inside of the jar. Some scratching at the widest part on the outside and some residue or etching at the bottom on the inside of the very bottom(see photos) None of these detract very much from its appearance. The lid fits loosely with some slight movement. I do not know if it is the original lid, but it is the one on it when I bought it.
