This auction is for the single antique cobalt blue label under glass apothecary bottle manufactured by the famous Whitall Tatum Factory in Millville NJ. Between 1870 and 1900. The beautiful gold-rimmed label reads: Lin. Chlorof. Chloroform Poison! Condition: No chips or cracks to glass label or bottle. Label has excellent coloration. There is some very minor discoloration to the gold edges of the hand-painted reverse label that is barely noticeable, as well as some very minor crazing and separation to paint in upper right half of label- similar to an old oil painting. Up for auction is a set of three deep. Heavy cobalt blue apothecary bottles of different make and era. They are all in mint condition with no cracks, chips or scratches. The two without labels are hand blown and at least a century old, the tallest is an English salt mouth jar with remnant, faded, hand-painted gold-gilt label, which sparkles in the light. It is 8" tall and 3.5 wide at base. The cylinder shaped bottle with nicely cork is 6.7" tall and 3" wide at base. Notice the beautiful lip on this piece- a very elegant, but simple druggist jar. Up for auction is set of three apothecary bottles with colorful paper labels in great condition. The tall lighter blue. Strap-sided mold blown bottle is 8.5" not including the stopper, which is not original but looks great with this piece. Notice the awesome poison label with skull and crossbones image at bottom- always popular with collectors. The smaller pair of beautiful, heavy deep cobalt blue bottles are 5.6" tall. Antique Lot of 4 Purple Cobalt Blue Apothecary Medicine Embossed Bottles
Up for bid is a lot of 4 antique apothecary medicine bottles from the late 1800s through early 1900s. The tall 6.75" amethyst purple bottle is embossed"Todd& Armistead Square Drug Co" The bottom of the bottle is roughly embossed with"W.T. Co B USA" and has some extra letters lightly embossed and scattered that appear to be a mistake(letters T& B in a different font) I believe this bottle dates in the late 1800's since the seam ends short of the double lip. The lip has also been applied slightly crooked. The bottle does not have any damage but does have some residue inside that I could not clean because I do not have the proper brush to get inside. The other three cobalt blue bottles are all Bromo-Seltzer from the Emerson Drug Co in Baltimore Md. but are from different time periods. One appears to be a ... morelate 1800s bottle and the other two early 1900s. The older bottle has a more solid blue color. Smaller lip, seams that end below the lip and large block"2" embossed on the bottom. All three bottles are in overall good to very good condition. There are some surface scratches on the glass, a flea bite on the bottom rim of the older bottle and minimal residue. All three display great despite the age appropriate wear. Antique Cobalt Blue Pontiled Medicine Apothecary Bottle with rare gold label
Up for auction is an extremely rare. Deep cobalt blue, hand-blown apothecary jar with reverse-painted, glass label in gold. The item is 8.6” tall to top of the stopper and 2.7” wide. The jar is part of a matching set currently being offered on Ebay. Both pieces are well over a century old as evidenced by their beautiful pontil marks, heavy glass, matching ground stoppers and style– probably pre-to-early Civil War Era. The reverse-painted glass label reads, VIN. PEPSIN. There is some minor nibbling to label edge on right side, as well as a small piece missing from top right. Beyond that and some very minor crazing to painted edges, the label looks great in terms of color brightness. No cracks. The wonderfully preserved gold-foil color reflects light and displays very nicely with the deep, heavy cobalt glass, which is in great shape- only a ... morefew tiny surficial scratches only noticeable upon close inspection. The item contains wonderful swirls and bubbles typical to its age and manufacture by hand. This is truly a fine American antique that displays like a brilliant gem-stone. IT HAS A COBALT BLUE COLOR IN THE GLASS AND THE BOTTOM HAS RIPPLES AND IMPERFECTIONS FROM WHEN IT WAS MADE. THERE ARE NO MOLD LINES ON IT AND IT'S FROM THE VICTORIAN ERA. 2 Antique Early Two 19th C Cobalt Blue Blown Glass Apothecary Corked Bottles, 1
This pair of early 19th century form blown cobalt blue apothecary bottles with pontil or punt marks. Stand 5& 1/2" high without their corks and are approximately 2& 3/8" in diameter. Both bottles, and their corks, are in excellent condition and one of the bottles still has its original label marked LUPULINE. The label is missing it top left corner and it has some color loss and is water blotched so evenly that it originally looked like the paper was marble patterned. The discoloration is even and not unpleasant.

For Your consideration: An stopper for an antique apothecary jar in Cobalt Blue. Great condition with one chip at the very bottom. Also there are a few cracks that extend from the very bottom towards the top. The longest of these is about 1/4 of an inch. These will probably never affect the structural integrity of the lid. Most of the lids will probably have cracks of this nature. For those who are seeking a replacement lid here are some measurements. At the very bottom it measures about 1.75. At the top where the glass is ground it is 1.892. Just above that at the place where the taper begins is 1.95. The largest diameter is 2 and 3/4 and it is 1 and 8/16 tall.
