~ANTIQUE APOTHECARY CHEMICAL LABORATORY MEDICAL WHEATON GLASS BOTTLES LOT~ Up for bid is a nice 4 chemical glass bottle lot from the late 1800s to the early 20th Century from one of the great bottle companies of the era The Wheaton Glass Company. The T.C. Wheaton Company was started in 1888 by Dr. Theodore C. Wheaton. They started by making ampoules. Viles, and chemical bottles. In 1892 they expanded and started to produce perfume bottles, and in 1937 expanded again to accommodate the growing consumer demand. 1946 the Wheaton Glass Company started to delineate the different product lines. The company was sold to Algroup in 1996. The four heavy glass chemical bottles are: Acid Acetic, Ammonium Hydroxide, Barium Chloride, and Alcohol. The bottles have all been cleaned and there is no smell to the inside of the bottle. They are 8 inches tall ... morewith stopper, about 7 inches at the top of the neck and are 3 inches in diameter. The glass stopper is 2 ¼ inches long. The bottles have raised lettering of the Chemical name and compounds on the front. Three of the bottles have strings tied to the glass stopper and the neck of the bottle. On the bottom of the bottle it is stamped Wheaton, No-Sol-Vit, 5 U.S.A. The Alcohol and Barium bottles are stamped with the number 5, the Acid is stamped with the number 4, and the Ammonium is stamped with the number 3. There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or deep scratches. The overall condition of these Antique bottles is excellent for their age and use. Found at estate sale: This is a very nice antique apothecary or laboratory etched glass 16 ounce graduated beaker made by the Whitall Tatum Co- circa early 1900's. The company mark is etched within a triangle near the top of the beaker"Guarunteed Accurate- Whitall Tatum Co- N.Y.Phila" The beaker measures 8.5" tall and has a pedestal base that measures 3.25" in diameter. The condition is very good for the age- no chips or cracks noted. But the markings are somewhat worn due to age and use, and there is scratching. They measure 5 ¾” without their tops and 6 ½” with stopper. Bottom is 2 ½” in diameter. Bottles are in Very Good Condition. Nice and clear, no chips, no cracks. There is one small chip on one of the stoppers at the midsection just below the round top. The inside neck of the bottom and the bottom of the stopper are frosted glass. A lot of two vintage Whitall Tatum and Co. laboratory and/or perfume bottles. The rounded bottle is definately a laboratory bottle and is marked"W.T. Co" and with a"B" It stands about 5" tall and weighs approximately 3.5 oz. The squared bottle is marked"W.T. CO. And with a"C" It also is marked"U.S.A. It stands just over 5" tall and weighs approximately 4.2 oz. Because of the more decorative design of this bottle, I tend to believe it may have been intended as a perfume bottle or decantor. Please inspect the photos for a closeup look. There are no chips in either piece. Both pieces have some imperfections in the glass, albeit, very minor.

This large amber pharmacy bottle measures about 14" tall. It is embossed with: CHR Hansen's Laboratory Little Falls NY USA" And there is a trade mark in the middle. It needs some inside cleaning. When I rubbed my finger on the inside top lip I could feel a couple of little rough spots, and so I examined it with a magnifier and found 2 little chips. They are very small, and like I said, they are on the inside rim and the cork covers them. This is a big, beautiful bottle to display. Selling as is. This is a large. Antique Hand Blown Beaker Etched Glass Apothecary Laboratory Ounces Drachms
Cottage Eclectibles has up for your consideration a hand blown apothecary or laboratory beaker with etched marks in ounces and drachms. Its in great condition for its age. Has some use scratches, imperfections from the blowing process and I believe etching mistakes. There are a couple etchings that may be scratches but are the same depth as etching it looks like mistakes. There is a pontil that was sanded. It is still shiney when washed and the etchings clear. it measure 5" tall and 2 2/8" at mouth. The etchings show 1 ounce 2 ounce. The eqivalent 1 ounce equals 8 drachms. Two ounces equals 16 drachms. Offered here for your bidding evaluation is this old Sulphuric Acid. Dil. H 2 SO 4 chemistry or apothecary bottle with a nice label still intact on its front. The bottle stands 6 7/8" tall and has a diameter of 3 3/8" With its clean lines and good looking label. This antique glass laboratory bottle can make an interesting decorative statement in the proper interior. The label has the look of paper but is evidently made of a stronger, long lasting material. The lettering has the appearance of being stenciled on. There is debris visible inside the bottle that I'm sure can be cleaned out. The label exhibits some minor soiling along with some faint writing penned on the right hand side. All I can make out of this writing is" IN Jan 64. We purchased this large antique glass item. From amongst a collection of 19th century Apothecary jars. The jars had been collected by a former drugstore owner, in the 1940's and 50's. This one, we do not know what the use was. We are selling this jar, just as we found it. The heavy glass opening on the one end, is actually sealed from passing through to the main part of the jar. Antique Smithsonian Museum Specimen Jar Approximate Height(inches) To Top: 10.5 To Lip: 10 To Shoulder: 8 Approximate Diameter(inches) At Base: 4.5. Glass Lid does not fit perfectly. I recently acquired a large collection of these jars ranging from 3-6” tall and from 1.5-3.5” in diameter. All the jars are unmarked but originally came from the Smithsonian Museum in DC and were most likely made in the early 1900’s. They are all hand blown glass and many have little glass hooks on the underside of the block top glass lids allowing specimen to be hung inside the jars. I will be listing these jars individually and in small lots in the coming weeks. You are bidding on the pictures jar/lot. I tried to take good pictures so condition could accurately be judged. Old Vintage Laboratory Apothecary Jar Bottle Pyrex T-24 Stopper Stopcock A 26 years long time antique dealer in this area is closing her doors for good. And I actually spent two days picking this weekend through her stuff. She specialized in very old primitives, but I was able to grab a little bit for everyone– I have some fabulous advertising, industrial, retro, deco, lots of store displays and apothecary too– you don’t want to miss this week! Here is an early vintage glass apothecary jar with a solid glass stopper/stopcock that has a relief mark that reads. Pyrex T-24, on one side. Now, the glass jar is not marked, so I don't know if it is Pyrex also, or if the stopper and jar started out life together. What I did notice is that the topper does not go all the way down flush to the top of the jar as I might expect it too- see what I ... moremean in my photos- you can see that the flat tim of the stopper bottom is about 1/4" from the top rim of the bottle. I think they look great together as they are, regardless of if they started together. The jar is made from clear molded glass, with circular lines from blowing that you can see at the top rim and the bottom of the jar. It measures 5 7/8" tall, 3 3/4" diameter at the bottom, 1 3/4" diameter across the rim of the mouth with a mouth opening that is 7/8" diameter measuring on the inside walls. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- no cracks or structural issues. There's lots of anomalies original to the making that you can see inside of the thick glass- lines, bubbles and burps, but no damage. In photo 5, I'm showing a close up of stretch type lines in the glass at the neck of the bottle- those are not cracks, they are original to the making. As you can see from my photos, it has a hazy opaque white residue on the inside and needs a good cleaning. I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. The stopper measures 2 1/2" tall, has a 2" diameter rim and the bottom of the stopper that goes inside of the bottle

ANTIQUE CHEMIST LABORATORY BEAKER APOTHECARY ONION BOTTLE OPEN PONTIL GLASS
I believe the unusual shape of this clear glass beaker/bottle was created to control the pouring of liquid for an apothecary. The middle of the neck seems to be crimped to allow the even flow of air and liquid and the top of the neck widens a bit below the spout to slow down and control the pouring. From what I understand the open rough pontil mark on the bottom would date this bottle to about the 1850s. The information I am giving I have come across online and was very limited. Since I am not an expert please research and judge for yourself. A lthough the bottle has some exterior scratches. Residue on the bottom inside and a very small flea bite sized I chip on the top rim, it still displays very well. the bottle measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches wide.
