Nice Old LG Antique Amber Apothecary, Doctor, Medicine Bottle, Glass Stopper
Here's another old. Antique or vintage bottle from among the group we've been listing. This one seems to be an apothecary bottle of medium large size from somewhere in the early 1900' to perhaps 1930's would be our guess. It is an amber color with nice matching glass stopper. It is very clean and has no chips, cracks etc. to mention. We think this was more of an apothecary or doctor's supply type bottle versus being a decanter based on it's style and color. It is about 9 inches tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. There is an embossed glass mark on the bottom"8" and another one that appears to be an"M" or perhaps a"W" within a circle. That's about it. It has very heavy glass and dates to early 1900's. It measures 14" high and the bottom is about 7.5" across. The lid is 8 sided and the bottom of the stopper is chipped and has several cracks. The lip of the bottle has some chips. The label says AQ. DEMINERALISAT. There are scratches on the label. Do not miss out on this unusual find. Piece holds one gallon of fluid very comfortably. Piece measures 13 1/2" in height. Holding a ruler up left to right and looking at it straight on it measures 5 1/2" across the square front. Piece weighs 3 lbs 12 oz's. Measurements are approximate. It is in good antique condition. With out any obvious wear. No chips. Cracks or scratches. Needs cleaning and will clean up pristine. This collection has to be one of the most fascinatinig and interesting finds I have come across in all my years of collecting. I believe that these are very old medicine or pharmacy medicine bottles. There are 8 all together. The person I purchased these from couldn't provide any history on the pieces. Not even sure how old they are but I am guessing that have quite of bit of aging to them. If anyone would like to share their knowledge on these I would be happy to add to listing. First is amber colored and measures almost 5" including eyedropper. a T and what looks to be SS in a circle and then a 1. Second is amber colored and measures about 4" including eyedropper a 17 and what looks to be either an I or 1 in a circle and then a 7. Third is amber colored and measures about 4" including eyedropper a 18 and what looks to ... morebe either an I or 1 in a circle and then 11. Fourth is amber colored and measures about 4" including eyedropper a SS in a circle and a 5. Fifth is amber colored and measures about 3" and has black cap a 15 then what looks to be ML. Sixth is amber colored and measures about 3" and has black cap a15 then what looks to be ML. Seventh is cobalt blue and has a white cap measures about 3" has what looks to be 73 or 75 15 ml and 14 below that. Last is cobalt blue and has no cap but a plastic insert and says the same thing on bottom as the 7th one. These bottles are being presented exactly as I purchased them. Wish I could provide additional information but didnt really know how to go about researching them because my curiousty was pretty high to find some history out on these pieces. Obear Nester Glass Company Antique Apothecary Medicine Bottle Amber 500 Mils.
Hello. This is a Obear Nester Glass Company Bottle from about 1915 to the 1950's by stlye. They were actually in business from 1894 to 1980. They started using this"N" within a square logo in 1915. This one is 7 3/4" Tall by a 3" Diameter and a 1" Diameter TOP LIP of the NECK. The stopper is in tack but has wear to it. I have not removed it because it is probably very fragile. We found this bottle half buried in an old ground floor basement in York. PA. Bottle is as you see it, stands 6" tall, 3" wide. A"do it all" type powder from the label. The original label could be glued down easily, but ill leave that up to the collector. Once tacked down, only very few words are torn away as seen in pic where im holding label to bottle. Lid is rusty and appears original. I didnt try to tske it off, though it looks to be some powder stuck to the sides inside. Sweet old medicine bottle! Buyer paysactual shipping that will be insured. For your consideration are 2 Wonderful Estate found Apothecary Jars. One Stand 5 3/4" tall the small one is 2" tall. Both with ground stopper Tops. I see bubble in the larger bottles stopper and jar. The stopper has two indented areas that feel rough. You can see it in Photo 3. The larger one has a Latin Abbreviated drug name under glass. The smaller one appeared to have a sticker across the top of the stopper. Old residue can be seen in last photo. Embossed on the base of the small jar only T.C.W. co. Both Clean inside. Previous owner placed some scotch tape around some of the ground glass stopper to protect it. I have left it in place. Glass has bubbles in it. Perfect for your apothecary Drug display. It's white on the inside and this amber yellow as you can see on the outside. It has a large floral display with butterflies on both the front and back and accents of flowers on the other 2 sides. These are transfers and not hand-painted The flowers still have their bright colors with no fading. There is one 1/8" flaw on a leaf(see pic) I'm really not sure what you would use this for"cookies" It sure would take a lot to fill it up I'm sure with one's imagination it could be used for many different things I'm not sure of the age. But believe it's from around the 1940's- ... more1960's This is a huge piece of glass and measures about 17" in height with the lid on x 8.5" in diameter at the widest point at both the top and bottom with a 8" I.D. opening at the top It's in great condition with no cracks or repairs. It does have 1 minor chip on the inside of the lid(see pic) which will not be seen when the lids in place. It also has tiny production irregularity on the rim in the form of a small white spot(see pic) It has a gold gilt ring on the knob of the lid with some slight wear from normal use(see pic) As with most handmade glass you will notice a few air bubbles in the glass which is considered normal. Vintage Lot Amber Glass Apothecary Jar / Medicine Bottles 24oz to 1/2oz
Up for your consideration is a Wonderful Lot of 11 Vintage Brown Amber Apothecary medicine jars and bottles. The largest is a 24 oz. jar w/ cap- marked on the bottom. The other Large jar measures 8" from top to bottom. No chips. Cracks, or notable scratches. 1- 4" ANACIN jar marked on two sides. 1- 3" and 1-4" WHITEHALL bottle marked on both sides, PEDIC bottle with paper label, Some damage to the label but still looks great, 3.5" medicine bottle-no lid needs a good cleaning, 3" round bottle, bottle with glass stick approx 3-3/4" Bottle of old Egcalyptus Oil approx 3" and a 1/2oz P&D Co. with embossed cap. All smaller bottles are in good condition with no chips or cracks, few have light scratches. Excellent addition to any collection or decor.
