This bottle measures 8.5 inches tall with a 4 inch in diameter base. The glass in this bottle is not all the way smooth as it has a rippled or wavy look and feel. As you can see in the 2nd to last picture. This bottle has" 505" etched in the glass. It appears to be a chemist etching. It is not well seen with the naked eye, but it shows up well with proper lighting. There are no other markings on the bottle. I am not sure what chemical it once contained. It is in great condition with no chips or cracks. There are some small bubbles in the glass which indicates this is an older piece. Very cool old bottle great to display! Rare apothecary amberish brown glass jar with stopper used in a 7th Avenue. Manhattan, New York City, pharmacy in the 1930s through 1940s. It was considered an antique then, and may be from the turn of the century or earlier. Jar is from a private medical collection. Inset"Amylum" label is glass. And is part of the bottle, not stuck on. Amylum is a type of vegetable starch used in making pharmaceutical compounds, in the days when pharmacists used their mortar and pestles to create medical tablets and capsules. Jar is 9 1/2" tall. No cracks or chips in jar or stopper.

Antique Flat Top Brown Glass Apothecary Bottle Stopper 7/8" Top & 1/2" Dia.Stem
These are blown glass and it would be rare to have two exactly the same. They normally have a cork around the cone shape part. Imagine a cork in your Wine Bottle and how fragile it is. The cork on these is even thinner so they are often missing. The pictures will show the so called imperfections in the glass such as the bubble and the rough texture in the one pictured. These so called imperfections happen with the old glass process they used back in the day. The end of the cone appears to be broken. You are right! But that is how these are made. THE SIZE OF THIS ONE IS. 7/8" Diameter on the Top and the Thickest part of the Cone is 1/2" Diameter. So you will need a bottle that has a opening/hole of at least 1/2" or larger for this Glass Stopper. You will get the one exactly as pictured and by size. Thanks for looking!

Rare Brown Glass GERMAN Apothecary Pharmacy Novocain Bottle with Label & Stopper
Nice antique BROWN or AMBER glass bottle from a German medical office. I have a few interesting RARE bottles from this collection to list. This one is large and the label(in German) indicates it held procainum hydrochloridum(Novocaine) Bottle measures about 5" high(with the glass stopper in place) and the bottom is 2.75" wide and 2" deep(rectangular) The opening is approximately 1 inch. The Glass stopper fits tightly and still has the string tied holding it in place as it was when I acquired it. There is a strip of paper between the stopper and the bottle which I believe was used to indicate of any moisture. The attached paper label is shown in the pictures and somewhat faded. Nice collection of 8 vintage bottles from an estate. There are 4 squarish no-neck bottles that are 4.25 inches tall(shown in first 2 photos) One has a chipped rim. These do not have any markings. But imperfections in the glass make them appear to be very old. They are apparently snuff bottles. The next 4 are more traditional capped bottles. 4 different ones. Shown in photos 3 and 4.
