Vintage Whitall Tatum Glass Apothecary Specimen Jar 12.75" Clamp Sealer Pat 1895
From a local estate. Here is a grand old apothecary specimen jar with glass lid and clamp seal. The jar stands an impressive 12.75" tall with lid, about 14.25" tall with the clamp installed. The jar is hand-blown with pontil mark on the bottom, the lid is marked"Whitall, Tatum& Co. Philadelphia New York, with a patent date of June 11, 1895. Jar and lid show some age. And there are the remains of an old rubber seal ring around the rim. The jar has a little roughness around the inner rim, and there are flaws and straw marks inside the glass, one looks like a crack and one looks like a ding, neither of the flaws can be felt from either side of the glass. Other than that, just normal bubbles, straw marks, and some grime from decades of storage. Just a grand old jar, I didn't try to clean it, looks awesome and definitely ... moreold. Rare 1800s Apothecary Jar Blown 1894 Fay Schueler St Louis 12 1/2" Ground Top
Up for Consideration Original 1800's Apothecary Jar with Ground Stopper& Well Marked- Original Measuring 12 1/2" high including stopper. This wonderful piece has bubbles and inclusions of the blown glass process. There are many air bubbles throughout the piece' on all sides and even within the ground neck. The jar is in very good condition and the stopper is ground and in very nice condition. There is a tiny flea bite on the collar of the jar, along the top edge.Only visible upon very close inspection. The top fits well and appears to be original to the piece. The recessed area for label under glass is well defined. This piece is a lovely example and would stand out in a collection. Antique Clear, Stoppered Apothecary Jar MOUTH BLOWN BOTTLE 12 1/2" Tall!
NON-SMOKING HOME* This is my very large. Round, blown glass apothecary jar. It has the original, ground-glass stopper. Note the pontil on the bottom of the jar. It is approximately 12 1/2" H x 4 3/4" W. It has mineral deposits on the inside. I'm told those can be cleaned with Lime-A-Way but I'll leave that to the buyer. There are no chips or cracks to the bottle but there are chiggers and a crack on the inside of the stopper. Check out my other bottles. I'd be happy to combine shipping whenever possible. The jar has clouding/ staining vertically on almost half of the jar. I have not been able to confirm the 2nd CANDY JAR as a Dakota. It is 13" tall with a conical lid and paneled sides. Dimensions Height without lid- 9 inches Height with lid- 10 inches Width- 3.25 inches Weight- A little over 1 LB This jar features a white label with gold trim. Which is what makes these jars valuable. The label does not have any cracks or chips in it. The label has been applied to the outside of the jar using beeswax. It does not have the year of the bottle at the bottom. The jar does not have any cracks or scratches on it. The lid of this jar features serrated edges. Antique Apothecary Jar - Approximately 12 Inches Tall - Thick Glass
Up for Auction is an Antique Apothecary Jar The Jar stands Approximately 12 Inches Tall and has rather Thick Walled Glass. It's approximately 1/8" thick The Condition of the Apothecary Jar is Overall Excellent. It is Used. But there are no cracks, chips or dings, just two tiny, tiny flea bites on the rim of the bottom section of the jar lid. On the inside rim. I didn't notice these when I was taking the photos, there so small, but only on extremely close inspection. I almost missed them. Both the jar rim and the lid rim have been ground flat and polished. The jar rim has also had the edge ground at an angle on both the inside and outside edges. The jar appears to be made of two pieces. The jar body and the foot, or base. No pontil on the bottom of the base. The Apothecary Jar appears to have been blown. Lots of circular work ... moremarks around the jar, from forming it. A few impurities and 1 or 2 bubbles in the glass, but not many at all. A very well made piece. The base is not quite perfectly circular. It's slightly out of round, it measures approximately 4 3/4 Inches in Diameter. The widest point on the Jar Body is just under 5 Inches in Diameter. And the Jar Body is approximately 8 7/8 Inches Tall. The widest point on the Jar Lid is just approximately 4 1/8 Inches in Diameter. And the Jar Lid is approximately 3 3/4 Inches Tall. Interestingly. The very bottom of the jar body, the knop, is hollow, not solid. The knop on the lid is slightly tilted. The combined weight of the jar and lid is just over 2 pounds. The Jar and Lid will be packed with care. Each piece will be double layer bubble wrapped. Payment is expected within 3 Days of Auction End. I have a 5 Day Handling Time Frame as a buffer. An antique large glass pharmacy jar. Approximately 12 1/2" tall with the stopper. It has a cloudy look and needs some cleaning. The glass has some scratch marks. There is a chip at the top edge. The left top edge of the front square label section has two chips. One of those chips has made a hole in the jar. The stopper appears to be in very good condition with a few small barely noticeable nicks/chips around the edges. The bottom is marked W. T. Co. A and is approximately 4 7/16" in diameter. Nice Antique Pre-WW2 General/Drug Store Dakota 12 Inch Apothecary Or Candy Jar
Up for auction is a very nice old candy/apothecary jar from an old general store or drug store. It is is very nice shape but shows a little wear as you might expect from an older jar. The jar is about 12 inches to the top of the stopper. I am not an expert on these but I see other listings where this style is called a Dakota. You collectors will likely know far more than me. Victorian Era Apothecary Jar Beautiful EAPG Clear Glass Extra Large 12" Tall
Height with lid = 11-1/2" + Height w/o lid = 9-1/2" Circumference = 18" Width = 9" Appears to hold over 1 gallon of Fluid. Tight Fit lid. Great for holding large amounts of herbs. The glass is beautiful but it is easily identified as antique glass with all the charming imperfections. The pontil mark has been ground down however you can see where the rod was broken off the piece. Various random tear shaped bubbles in the glass as well as some very mild impurities in the glass. The piece appears to EAPG but I could be mistaken as there are no bottle markings to confirm this. I can definitely date this as pre 1900. Please note! The Jar is considerably heavy. The Jar is approximately 3+ lbs.

It holds 12 cups- great for cookies glass is clear- looking at it areas look like it has waves in it. Dakota pattern"sample" or cylinder shaped apothecary/candy/store jar with a slip-fit lid(non-ground) Measures 12-3/8" tall. Base. Neck and lid are 3-piece molded; body 2-piece mold. Lid has 15"thumbprints" Few tiny bubbles around neck. Perfect condition- no flaws whatsoever. We're selling this as a Tiffin Glass Co. jar as there isn't any wear to the base, but the mold is very smooth and clear around the diamond collar pattern and the glass is absolutely crystal clear(no hint of yellowing) The Ebay postage calculator is only approximate- the successful bidder to pay our Priority Mail cost to ship in continental US. Apothecary Bottle 19th Century apothecary bottle measures 10 1/2" tall to the top lip. not including stopper height) Original label is partially covered with a"mustard seed" label which may be removed with care by the new owner. No cracks or damage. This lot is one of many 19th century apothecary bottles we've listed this week from a closed drugstore in upstate New York.
