I believe the contents of the store were auctioned off in the early 1970’s and some things were sold privately by the druggist in the 1980’s. He identified these jars as apothecary jars that he used for many years. They have a round mold mark on the bottom. Please look at our other listings for 3 sizes, Large, Medium, and Small. We have more than one of each size and will be putting them up for auction individually for the time being. If there is an interest, we may list them for a fixed price in the future. Old Apothecary Jar / Bottle w/ Black Glass Lid TCW-CO
These milk bottles are primarily 1930s 1940s and 1950s. However I've found references back to 1910s and 1920s in advertising for these dairy farms. A few of the companies have even been around since the 1800s. They are all from a single estate collection and I'm not an expert so ask questions if you have them. This is a great little medical jar with only 1 flake on the rim of the lip which is worn smoothe. It has a black glass lid which needs to be cleaned up a little but has no significant imperfections. The bottle stands just over 2 1/2 inches with the lid and just under 2 1/2 inches without it. Bottom is embossed: T.C.W.CO. 1013 usa 25-54 Additional photos are always available upon request. Bottle#1: Label reads: MIST.GLYC.CO. Overall height of bottle with stopper is 12 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter Bottom of bottle is marked with raised letters and reads: W.T. Co. B U.S.A. There is a crack in the glass atop the label. This does not do through to the inside of the bottle itself. Just on the label. It looks as if there was some sort of error stamping the bottom. The W is doubled and there appears to be an 8 in addition to the B. a few little nicks on the lip of the stopper but otherwise no chips or cracks. This large Jar is 13 1/4 inches tall and 5 3/8 inches around at it's widest. There are swirls visible in the glass I would guess from the molding process and a whitish discoloration on the outside. This is a very tiny jar of water purification tablets. I am not sure how old they are. But I found them in an old chest in the grandparent's basement along with a bunch of militray stuff from the Koren War. This is an antique Label Under Glass English pharmacy bottle in original condition well marked and labeled SODII SALICYL: which I believe is an aspirin derivative or product(aspirin discovered in 1930's is salicylic acid tablets. These bottles predate USA FDA requirements and are to be used for display only, not pill storage. Round cylinder shaped 8" tall bottle has ground glass thin neck fitted with flat tab stopper. Inset glass label with drug name and red and gold gilt borders, and marked on bottom with raised shield YGCO which stands for Yorkshire Glass Company. These bottles were shelf equipment for back room pharmacies in small villages across Britain ... moreat turn of century, I brought this home with me on a buying trip in the mid 1990's from the trade dealer's field; it is authentic in every way. Narrow necks indicate liquid contents. Condition Report: No damages or breaks to glass bottle or label. Stopper firmly secured. Does not remove easily unless soaked. Dusty surface from age. This is a apothecary/pharmaceutical amber jar in wonderful shape. This is the largest one I have ever seen. It is 13" tall 18" round and the opening stem is 6"round. It is marked on the bottom with a diamond and a I in the middle and a 4. Which was made by the Illinois Glass Company from 1916 to 1926 the amber was low volume the clear was the mane production. Vtge Wheaton Glass Co Apothecary Pharmacist Medicine Jar Mushroom stopper USA
Vintage Wheaton Chemist Apothecary Pharmacist jar in good vintage condition. The jar has a great mushroom glass stopper with the numbers 345 hand etched. The stopper top seems to have been ground down. Somewhat flat on top, doesn't distract from the unique features of this jar. The front of the jar has the number 37 above an empty etched box. Beneath the box, printed in white is the words, WHEATON USA. There seems to be an intentional dent on the bottom of the jar, possibly during the manufacturing process. The chemist jar is approx 6 1/2" with stopper and 5 1/2" without stopper. Bottom is marked WHEATON USA. Please look closely at my pictures as they are part of my description. Two vintage 1880's- 1900's pharmacy pharmacist pharmaceutical apothecary drug store collectible medicine herb tonic bottle jar. Both are heavy thick clear glass bottle bottles jar jars with round ground glass stopper stoppers. One Wine of Citrate Of Iron labeled"Vin. Ferr. Am. bottle measures 8 3/4" tall(with ground glass stopper lid) by 2 3/4" by 2 3/4" The label area on the bottle is recessed into the glass.The label has great gold. Black white and red The bottom of the jar is embossed with"W. T. Co. Pat. Apr. 2, 1889" There are dark liquid contents remaining. The ground glass stopper is so firmly in place that I am hesitant to emove it as to not damage the area. The bottle has been tested(upside down overnight) and there is absolutely no leaking. The bottle and stopper are in very good condition. W.T.&Co. Large Clear Glass Wide-Mouth Apothecary Jar with Ground Glass Stopper
This W.T.Co. Apothecary Jar measures 10 1/2" tall overall by 5" in diameter. The ground glass opening is 3 1/2" and the stopper is 3" tall. The manufacturer. Whitall, Tatum& Company was located in Millvill, NJ and was in business from 1875 until 1901. The bottom of the jar is embossed with the letters"WT&CO" and below the letter"A" This jar was never intended for medical or chemical products. It may have been a candy store jar. The minor flakes on the ground glass stopper are easily repairable if desired. A great display piece for candy, food products and small collections such as seashells.

An antique large glass pharmacy jar. Approximately 12 1/2" tall with the stopper. It has a cloudy look and needs some cleaning. The glass has some scratch marks. There is a chip at the top edge. The left top edge of the front square label section has two chips. One of those chips has made a hole in the jar. The stopper appears to be in very good condition with a few small barely noticeable nicks/chips around the edges. The bottom is marked W. T. Co. A and is approximately 4 7/16" in diameter. This would have been used for pharmaceutical powders and liquids in a Doctor's office or pharmacy at that time. The sign I believe is hand-painted and reads: P. CRETAE CO. The gold raised label I believe is porcelain enamel over the glass. But I'm not%100 sure. The gold frame is typical for these Apothecary Jars in the late 19th century. There is a small crack over the label in the left bottom corner. The bottle is in pretty good condition for its age. This is a clear apothecary jar 2 1/2 inch round shape that stands about 8 inches high. The label trim is made of REAL gold leaf. It is a raised ceramic label encased in glass. The bottle and stopper are in very good condition. The gold leaf trim and glass encasing are chipped all around and a piece in the lower right corner is missing(see pictures) This jar is definitely much older than the other jars I have sold. This lot is for a T.C.W. CO. apothecary jar with glass stopper. Marked T.C.W. CO. 2 USA on base of jar, Measures 5 3/8" H, Base diameter 1 7/8" Top diameter opening 1 3/8" Height without lid is 4 1/2" HOLDS 1/2 cups of liquid, Minor surface scratches on the outside of the bottle. There is a funny area on the outside of the bottle. See photo where I point this out. It is NOT GLUE or a tag. It is some kind of a scratch. Weighs about 6 ounces prior to packaging. Rare 1890's Whitall Tatum & Co. Hand Blown Glass Specimen Jar Vintage Apothecary
This listing is for a rare Whitall Tatum and Co. hand-blown glass specimen jar. This item is sold AS IS. The jar dates from between 1898 and 1901 and is hand-blown soda lime glass. The glass has natural imperfections including a few small bubbles and slight waviness in the sides of the glass due to natural thickness variation. The bottom of the jar has a slight mark where the punty was attached during the jar's fabrication. The top flange also has a slight fold where it was attached to the jar body. The inner lip of the flange is ground glass. As seen in the pictures. The lid of the jar reads WHITALL.TATUM& Co PHILADELPHIA NEW YORK. The lid also has two small hand-blown hooks from which specimens can be suspended. Both the jar and lid have no chips. Cracks, clouding or damage. This jar does not include the metal screw clamp.
