The contents are described as 25 tabloid Sodium Salicylate Effervescent and to keep"well corked and in a cool dry place. Reading the directions, it seems to me that this was the precursor to Alka Seltzer! Anyway, it was made by"Burroughs Wellcome& Co. out of Tuckahoe, N.Y. On the end of the cork end, it also has a label with a prancing horse and"B.W.Co. The glass tube is approximately 6 1/4" long with a diameter of roughly 1 1/4. Lot of Apothecary Glass Test Tube Vials-PYREX CORNING+WIRZ Cork BOTTLE STOPPERS
I've had this bunch of glass tubes for decades. I'm not sure what to say about them. As they are so unusual. I think my grandfather had stored some cigars in them. As I am guessing that explains the residue. 4 large vials. 3 small vials as shown, with 5 WIRZ silver toned Crown topped Bottle Stoppers for Cork, plus 2 Gold toned Crown finials. The WIRZ Crown Stoppers were made in the late 1800's. 3 of the Vials are marked Pyrex Corning. As shown. I'm cleaning out my cupboards. So it is time for these to find a new keeper. Vintage bottle from family storage-approximately 7 3/4 inches tall. The bottle is marked with measurements on the side(see picture) and still has a small cork in the top. The bottom of the bottle has the letter N in a square and the number 2 to the opposite side of the N. I believe this is the Obear-Nester Glass Company(Illinois) The bottle is the style of the apothecary bottles. But there is no medical symbol on the bottom. There are no chips or cracks in the bottle, but it does need cleaned a bit.

It is a large bottle and measures 9" tall with a base diameter of 3 5/8" It is marked on the label area"Powd Nux Vomica" The label and lettering show wear as pictured. It looks like the"P" N" and"V" were printed in red to indicate poison. The bottom of the bottle is marked"215" The bottle jar is in excellent condition with zero damage. You can see bubbles in the glass from the production of the bottle. The cork stopper fits snuggly and it is in very good condition. There are no contents remaining in the bottle. The bottle displays beautifully and it is sold as is. $10.00 postage.

A rare J.J. Estes Apothecary Bottle With original cork and label. It is numbered 86191 and dated Sep. 72 or 79. The address is listed as Union Opp. Church Street. Rockland Mass. The label is missing a section and the writing is faint but most of it is legible. One Glass This. Not a day before? There is a signature on the bottom right hand corner of the label. The bottle is approx. 9.5 inches tall and 3.75 in diameter at the widest point. There are seams running on opposite sides of the bottle and neck. The top has a large bubble but it is hard to tell if it is a defect with the cork in place. There is some residue left over inside the bottle. BOTH THE BOTTLE AND CORK ARE HEAVY HAND BLOWN CLEAR GLASS. THE ILLUSION OF THE GLASS BEING AMBER IN COLOR IS FROM THE FORMER CONTENTS. A NICE LARGE SIZE. THE BOTTLE MEASURES 9.5" TALL x 3" WIDE AT BASE(INCLUDING STOPPER) PLEASE REVIEW THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE LABEL AS SHOWN.
