RARE ANTIQUE PAT 1894 CANNABIS INDICA GLASS APOTHECARY LUG BOTTLE JAR MARIJUANA
For auction is a very rare vintage antique 1890's apothecary pharmacy general store medical bottle/ jar. This jar has a wonder label under glass for Cannabis Indica. Aka Marijuana, weed, pot, ganja, smoke, endo, etc. This jar has information on the bottom and says: Patd March 6th 1894, F& S St Louis MO. The jar is farly good size, and with the lid on it measures 10 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches square. The main body of the jar without the lid measures 8 3/4 inches tall. The mouth or opening of the jar measures 2 1/4 inches across. The jar itself is in very good condition with no breaks, no chips, maybe some light small scratches. The inside rim of the jar has 1 small chip and a couple super tiny fleabites. The label is in good shape with no cracking, but what looks like some light fading or discoloring. The ornate fancy lid to the jar ... moreis also in very good shape with 1 small nick on the upper part that fits inside the jar, and some tiny fleabites. Glass Label Apothecary Bottle~LUG ~Pharmacy~C 1800s Blown Glass
Apothecary Bottle Circa. 1800's. 9 1/2" tall Blown Glass. LUG(Label Under Glass) The stoppers ground glass base is chipped and the Glass Label is in poor condition. See photo below) The thumbprint top was made wth a large shapely bubble of air in the center section and has no chips or cracks, and the indents are sharply cut. There is a pontil mark on the base. The apothecary bottle. Circa 1870s came from a Brooklyn Pharmacy established in 1875. It measures 9 1/2" high to the top of the ground glass stopper by 2 3/4" wide at the base. I will also include an original printed envelope(see below) Showing the location and establishment date of the pharmacy where this bottle was used. Bottle is in very good condition for an item of its age age. Bottle has one small chip to outer rim edge. Glass label is no longer attached to bottle. LUG Personalized Bottle Item: This is a personalized bottle with the label under glass(lug) which may have been used as an Apothecary. Pharmaceutical or Barber bottle. Most likely a barber's bottle. Measurements: The bottle measures 5 3/4" high without the stopper and 7 1/4" with the stopper The diameter of the bottle is 2 1/2" The stopper measures 2 1/2" high. Condition: The bottle is clear glass with a laurel leaf cut pattern on the shoulder and a more intricate floral motif cut pattern near the bottom of the bottle. The bottle has an indentation(the size of a thumb print) that appears to have occurred during manufacture(ouch! The indent appears on the shoulder of the bottle right above the two"GG's" in the personalized name under glass. The mouth of the bottle has no chips. Bites or cracks. The stopper ... moreis in excellent condition with no detectable flea bites but maybe a mite bite on a faceted edge or two. The stopper has a total of nineteen faceted surfaces. The bottom of the stopper is smooth and has no chips. The bottle and stopper fit perfectly together. The personalized label under glass has a very desirable name for this era of bottle. FOGG. As in Phileas Fogg the fictional character in the Jules Verne book'Around the World in 80 Days' Despite the romance of the name, the label does have an issue. The gold foil of the label on left hand side has some flaking, please see photographs. The label has a white background with gold foil and thin red inking in the outer border. The name FOGG. is in gold with both red and black shadowing. There is a decorative embellishment in gold to the left of the name on the label. There are a few trace calcium deposits inside the bottle. This item is sold"as-is" Any flaws I find will be identified and the accompanying photos are meant to serve as an additional part of the item’s description and condition. Whitall Tatum 1889 Glass Label Apothecary Bottle LUG Glyco-Thymoline A very nice apothecary jar made by the Whitall Tatum Company. It is embossed on the bottom with"Pat Apr 2 1889 W.T. Co. The label is under glass. The inside of the neck and the stopper bottom are acid frosted. The stopper itself is such a little piece of art. Looks to be hand blown and"hollow" on the inside. It has a decorative thumbnail design around the top. The bottle measures 5 3/4" tall(with stopper) and 1 3/4" deep. There are no chips or cracks to the bottle and the label is completely intact. There is some"cracking" for lack of a better term- I really don't know much about old bottles) to the label but given the age. This seems very insignificant to me. There is no heavy clouding or residue to the inside of the bottle. The stopper ... morehas one tiny chigger on one of the thumbnails but this was only noticed by touch and nothing major. It once held Glyco-Thymoline which appears to have been mouth wash. I think"Scope" sounds much more user friendly. don't you? Ribbed LUG Apothecary Bottle, Gold Label for Opium
Ribbed apothecary bottle with with nice gold label under glass for“Vin. Opii” wine of opium) The recessed gold label is clean and bright but has one vertical crack in cover glass as shown. The clear glass bottle is ribbed on all sides which alerted the druggist to the fact that the contents were poisonous. It is unusual to find these ribbed poison bottles in clear glass– they are unusually found in green. The bottle is 8” tall to the top of the fancy faceted stopper. The neck of bottle has a large crack that extends from the edge of the lip through the neck and shoulder and into the top 1” of the body of the bottle as shown in photos. The crack is stable and tight and has not spread in the years that I have had it on display. Damaged bottle that nonetheless displays very nicely. Huge LUG Apothecary Bottle, Fancy Label for Opium, Pontil
Huge apothecary bottle(12” tall) with fancy label under glass for“Tr. Opii Camp. which stands for tincture of opium with camphor. Label is complete but has three hairline cracks in the glass cover as seen in the close-up photos. The label is a very rare and fancy version with faux green marble outer margin with shiny gold. Red, and black on the inner portion of the label. The label is huge measuring 3.75” tall and about 4.5” across. The neck of the jar has a crack that extends all the way from the top of the shoulder through the lip. There is a second smaller crack on the other side of the neck. Both of these cracks are stable and tight and cannot be felt with a fingernail. I have had this bottle on display for many years and the cracks have not spread. VERY RARE 4.5" AMBER LUG Label Under Glass Poision APOTHECARY BOTTLE
Attic fresh is this antique amber apothecary bottle. The bottle has a paper label with red writing and gold trim. Under a glass holder. The jar measures 4.5" tall. The neck and stopper are ground. The stopper has two chips, which can be seen in the photos I have included. The neck. Has a few tint flakes and the bottle is free from chips and cracks. The label has a slight variation in color(towards the right lower corner) where it seems the glass is not as close or the glue missed that spot, however, the label and glass are firmly affixed. The bottle is marked on the bottom Pat April 2, 1889 WT& co. Gorgeous rich cobalt blue LUG syrup bottle with syrup stopper. Virtually pristine bottle is 8 1/2" in height with no chips or cracks and gold foil edged indented label is nearly pristine. A couple of manufacturing bubbles are seen. One that is exposed in base and warn through. Double anchor is embossed on base. Very minor scratches on bottle back and a small bubble on top of label in gold portion. In a window this is a beautiful bottle, and rare. Shipping is best estimate and any excess will be refunded.
