It has very heavy glass and dates to early 1900's. It measures 14" high and the bottom is about 7.5" across. The lid is 8 sided and the bottom of the stopper is chipped and has several cracks. The lip of the bottle has some chips. The label says AQ. DEMINERALISAT. There are scratches on the label. Do not miss out on this unusual find. There is a residue on the inside upper portion of the bottle and a number of air bubbles through out. The side seams feel almost indented to the feel. See last photo with a screwer lying across the seam. There is no stopper to this jar. The label is in relatively good condition if in fact it is over 100 years old. Again. I am not knowledgable on old medicine bottle. What I know is what I just learned to try and identify this bottle. Description: Offering these two antique apothecary jars. Science or medicine or store counter canisters. The taller jar measures 7 3/16" tall by 1 15/16" in diameter. The neck on the celluloid or lucite plastic disk shaped stopper lid top is broken at the neck. Easily glued back together. The light lilac colored paneled glass bottle measures 6 1/2" tall by 2 1/8" wide by 1 7/8" front to back. Both bottles are in very good condition with no breaks or chips and minimal wear. The light lilac glass bottle has multiple trapped bubbles within the glass. The taller bottle has an optic look with swirls in the glass and has some sort of markings on the bottom. The stopper top seems to have been ground down. Somewhat flat on top, doesn't distract from the unique features of this jar. The front of the jar has the number 37 above an empty etched box. Beneath the box, printed in white is the words, WHEATON USA. There seems to be an intentional dent on the bottom of the jar, possibly during the manufacturing process. The chemist jar is approx 6 1/2" with stopper and 5 1/2" without stopper. Bottom is marked WHEATON USA. Please look closely at my pictures as they are part of my description. We found this bottle half buried in an old ground floor basement in York. PA. Bottle is as you see it, stands 6" tall, 3" wide. A"do it all" type powder from the label. The original label could be glued down easily, but ill leave that up to the collector. Once tacked down, only very few words are torn away as seen in pic where im holding label to bottle. Lid is rusty and appears original. I didnt try to tske it off, though it looks to be some powder stuck to the sides inside. Sweet old medicine bottle! Buyer paysactual shipping that will be insured. Aug. 14& 30, 1866 embossing on the bottom, I still don't believe it could be that old as I can see two vertical seams although faint. In a book called"American Historical Glass" this piece is listed as No. 530. Statue of Liberty apothecary jar. 5 inches diameter and 12.5 inches high. The top lip feels rough as the piece is listed as crystal in this book. The jar is divided into three panels, separated by tall columns. The Statue of Liberty is placed within one. the others being plain. In her right hand she holds the torch of freedom and in her left hand is a tablet on which is carved the words"July 4, 1776" although this inscription is not seen in the glass. Vintage Miniature Glass Apothecary Jar Square Medicine Ground Stopper Neck
Offering a very small old clear glass apothecary/medicine jar or salesman's sample in rectangle/squared shape. The jar stands 3-1/8" high to top of lid and jar is 2-3/8" high without lid. The base is 1-1/2" x 1-5/8" and sides taper to 1-3/4" x 1-7/8" at shoulder. Top rim is just over 1-1/2 across. It glows green under blacklight. Jar is unmarked. Antique 1862 Walton Civil War Era Apothecary Medicine Bottle Jar w/ glass Label
Antique W.N. Walton Apothecary Bottle Pat'd Sept. 23 1862- with glass stopper and original Glass Label NH Estate find- This bottle measures roughly 9" tall with stopper 10" The bottle and stopper is in great shape with no chips or cracks. The bottle is old. And does feature many air bubbles and a couple of(what look like) pin holes in the glass. The stopper has a pontile on the bottom that looks like it was chipped-off- but it is manufactured this way. The glass label is not attached to the bottle and most of the original'graphics' have worn off over the years. There is some glue residue where the old glass label was applied. See Photos! 2 Antique Apothecary Amber Medicine Glass Bottle Jar Ground Stopper Glass Label
For your consideration are 2 Wonderful Estate found Apothecary Jars. One Stand 5 3/4" tall the small one is 2" tall. Both with ground stopper Tops. I see bubble in the larger bottles stopper and jar. The stopper has two indented areas that feel rough. You can see it in Photo 3. The larger one has a Latin Abbreviated drug name under glass. The smaller one appeared to have a sticker across the top of the stopper. Old residue can be seen in last photo. Embossed on the base of the small jar only T.C.W. co. Both Clean inside. Previous owner placed some scotch tape around some of the ground glass stopper to protect it. I have left it in place. Glass has bubbles in it. Perfect for your apothecary Drug display.
