Antique APOTHECARY BOTTLE w/GLASS STOPPER Whitall Tatum Co., W.T.CO.
This is a beautiful piece to add to your collection of bottles! This bottle was made by Whitall T atum Company(1901- 1938) The glass could be called Amethyst or Thistle Color. Marked beneath: W.T. CO. E. The bottle is 6.75" tall. Rectangular shape with rounded sides. 2" wide. This is a very clean bottle that is near mint condition with only a few minor flaws. Please see photo's. There is a tiny flake. Not visible in picture on lip of bottle. There is also a small chip on the lip which I was able to capture in a picture. The stopper has a small flake on the end of the stopper, which is shown in another of the pictures. Please ask questions before bidding. Thanks!

Antique Whitall Tatum Laboratory Reagent Bottle in Original Wrapper
Up for bid. Antique W.T.Co(Whithall Tatum) Flint Glass" 17 Ammonium Chloride NH 4 CL, 4 oz. Reagent Bottles in their original wrappers! The Bottles feature ground glass labels. flat" top style glass stoppers with frosted flutes and were manufactured within the 1901-1924 period based on information available about the maker marks on the bottom of the bottle. W.T. Co. K. U.S.A. The bottles are hand blown and of a 3 piece mold style. The round. Main portion of the bottle was blown first, then the neck and bottom were attached later in the process. All of these bottles have air pockets indicating the hand blown method rather than a machine molded method. They were also reported to have used a"Lime" method to create clear glass, keeping them from turning purple with exposure to sunlight, as with flint glass methods that used ... moremanganese. This may explain why these bottles are still clear after 100 years. Whitall Tatum& Sons stated"The Bottles are made of glass containing no lead. Zinc, or other metallic flux. The bottles were manufactured in Millville. NJ by Whitall Tatum more than likely in their South Millville Factory(which was almost solely dedicated to the manufacture of flint glass items) and sold by a wholesaler(Eberbach& Sons) of Ann Arbor, Mich. who was(and still is) a major supplier to the Scientific, Medical, and Pharmaceutical communities of the time. The bottles were marketed under Eberbach's"Modern Tools of Science" brand. The bottles in their wrappers have been cross-referenced against a copy of the Whitall Tatum Catalogue(10 A) of 1904 held by the Corning Museum of Glass and shown on page 52 of that catalog. Originally. The set contained over 60 different Reagent Bottles. I unfortunately had to verify the cross referencing by opening one of the wrapped bottles. Antique Whitall Tatum Apothecary Glass Beaker-Etched Circa 1900's A beautiful little apothecary or pharmacist's measuring beaker from Whitall Tatum of Philadelphia. PA. It stands about 4 1/4 inches tall. It has the Whitall Tatum& Company diamond mark logo circa early 1900's, but it does show some wear to the logo. Beaker is hand blown with rolled rim. Not from a mold. The etching is also hand done. Great condition with no chips or cracks. Light signs of use, glass is slighlty clouded. I did not try to clean this. This specimen jar still has the metal clamp. This is something truly unique and rare,it is made by Whitall Tatum,the first glass makers in America. It measures 8" tall without the lid x 8 1/8" across, the mouth opening measuring 5 1/8" across, it has lugs built into the glass lid so you can tie a string on them to suspend the specimen it has whitall tatum& co Philidelphia New York pat June 11th 1895 in raised letters on the lid. The lid has 1 chip on top side check pictures and several tiny chips more towards the bottom section.check pictures, The glass ring undernieth that sits inside the jar is in really good condition with no chips nor cracks. the jar section has whittle marks from the mold and air bubbles in the top section ring area and few on jar lower section. check all pictures. the lugs are located in the bottom ... moreof the lid they are still intact and no cracks or chips, they are made to suspend the specimen. Antique 1878 Whitall Tatum WT & CO Apothecary Jar Bottle Guaiacol Carbonate
Pictured here is an antique apothecary medicine bottle from the 1870's. This bottle is in excellent condition with the original stopper. It is marked on the bottom in embossed letters WT& CO(A) I have dated this bottle to 1878. This once held Guaiacol Carbonate. Which was used medicinally as an expectorant, antiseptic and local anesthetic. This bottle measures 5.5" tall. The label is hand painted under glass in black lettering with a gold and red border. Bay Rum is a scented liquid used as an aftershave or put in the hair. It is made of rum and bayberry leaves. Florida Water is the American version of Cologne Water. It still has a citrus base but more orange than the lemon of Cologne Water. Added to this are spicy notes including lavender and clove. Please note. These were purchased by us together; however, the labels are not all completely identical(some have a plain gilt frame, others have a gilt frame with a thin red line through it) and the original owner may have purchased some later than others. Pictured here is an antique LARGE apothecary medicine bottle from the 1890's. This bottle is in excellent condition with the original stopper. It is marked on the bottom in embossed letters WT& CO(C) I have dated this bottle to between 1890-1901. This once held Foeniculum. Which was used as an additive. It was derived from a plant and most likely used herbally. This bottle measures 9" tall. It measures almost 3" wide. The label is hand painted under glass in black lettering with a gold and red border. It also has a painted number"10" on the outside in the front. It is in great condition! Wonderful old Whitall Tatum apothecary tin with great primitive appeal. Circa turn of the century. Dark hunter green with gold lines and a warm patina. The texture has crackled and crazed over the years. Brass label plate with original screws. The jar would have contained pulverized Folliae Mentha Piperita. Or pulverized peppermint leaves. This is a lot of 4 antique blown glass apothecary bottles with ground glass stoppers. Bottles were made by Whitall Tatum& Co.and. Based on the marks on the base, date from the 1901-1924 period. This correlates with the information I have from a past owner who stated that they were from the estate of doctor whose father purchased the bottles new when he established his medical practice between 1901 and 1910. I will provide more detailed information to the high bidder if they desire. Each bottle is approximately 7 1/2" tall including the ground glass stopper. The opening is approximately 1 1/2" and diameter of the bottles is 3" The bottles are in excellent condition. One has a small chip(or perhaps an open bubble) on the lip. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Here is a nice old glass apothecary jar! Marked on the bottom by the maker. WT& Co. Whitall Tatum was one of the first glass factories in the United States, with the first location being in Millville New Jersey, they opened in 1838 and operated under the Whitall name until 1938, when they were purchased ... moreby Armstrong Cork. The mark on the bottle is"W. T. Co, along with the letter A. This mark was used by the company from 1901 through the teens, the mark being changed in the 1920s. It's a cool old molded glass bottle- you can see the mold line going up both sides and stopping at the base of the blown glass neck. The bottle has an old paper label that I'm assuming is original. The word reads STARCH, but it's in cut outs in the paper, not printed on the paper. The label is in very good condition- it shows are in discoloration and small dark spots, and some teenie nibbles on the bottom of the paper- mostly on the left, the very tip of the left corner is missing, some very light scratching, but no other chips but on the left lower edge- that's it- I think it looks fabulous for being 100 or so years old. The bottle has its original stopper, and the sides of the stopper are frosted where it fits into the bottle, as is the inside of the bottle frosted where it meets the sides of the stopper! There are no nicks, cracks or issues on the bottle, at first, I thought I saw some nibbles on the mouth, but on closer inspection, discovered that they are bubbles under

FOENICULI(This means FENNEL WATER. Made of a solution of oil of fennel seed and water. It was used as treatment for stomach ills, whooping cough, a diuretic and more. Fennel water is still sold today and brewed as a tea, with seeds steeped in water or with a fennel tea bag. The gold label is held in place by a clear curved piece. Made of thin glass. If this is lifted, the fragile old paper will fall apart. I found that out on another similar bottle. The clear curved piece sits in a recess in the bottle atop the label. The bottle is 8 1/2 inches tall with the stopper in place. The bottom is 2 3/4 inches across the bottom. On the bottom is W.T. CO. ... morewhich is the Whitall Tatum Company, one of the first glass factories in America. They were located in New Jersey, in operation from 1806 to 1938. The bottle probably dates to around 1857. The front reads AMMONIUM OXALATE(NH 4)2C204. On the bottom it is stamped PHILA PAT. MAR. 25 1879 WHITALL TATUM& CO. U.S.A. NEW YORK. The bottle is in good condition. The bottle has surface scratches and someone scratched ID at the top of the bottle and 4 at the bottom onto it. It also needs to be cleaned. There is no other damage to the bottle that I can see.
