~ANTIQUE APOTHECARY CHEMICAL LABORATORY MEDICAL WHEATON GLASS BOTTLES LOT~ Up for bid is a nice 4 chemical glass bottle lot from the late 1800s to the early 20th Century from one of the great bottle companies of the era The Wheaton Glass Company. The T.C. Wheaton Company was started in 1888 by Dr. Theodore C. Wheaton. They started by making ampoules. Viles, and chemical bottles. In 1892 they expanded and started to produce perfume bottles, and in 1937 expanded again to accommodate the growing consumer demand. 1946 the Wheaton Glass Company started to delineate the different product lines. The company was sold to Algroup in 1996. The four heavy glass chemical bottles are: Acid Acetic, Ammonium Hydroxide, Barium Chloride, and Alcohol. The bottles have all been cleaned and there is no smell to the inside of the bottle. They are 8 inches tall ... morewith stopper, about 7 inches at the top of the neck and are 3 inches in diameter. The glass stopper is 2 ¼ inches long. The bottles have raised lettering of the Chemical name and compounds on the front. Three of the bottles have strings tied to the glass stopper and the neck of the bottle. On the bottom of the bottle it is stamped Wheaton, No-Sol-Vit, 5 U.S.A. The Alcohol and Barium bottles are stamped with the number 5, the Acid is stamped with the number 4, and the Ammonium is stamped with the number 3. There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or deep scratches. The overall condition of these Antique bottles is excellent for their age and use. 1910 IPGCO Illinois Pacific Glass APOTHECARY Chemical TALL Drug BOTTLE Chemist
This unusually large antique pharmaceutical. Or apothecary, bottle was made by the Illinois Pacific Glass Company. The Illinois Paci fic Glass Co. was formed in 1902 when Illinois Glass consolidated its West Coast holdings and purchased the Abramson-Heunisch Glass Company. The company opened plants in San Francisco. Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle& Oakland. This 12" tall bottle has the original ground stopper and is marked. At the bottom, IPGCO within a diamond and the number 142 4. There are two mold marks(see photo 4) Condition is very good but not perfect. There are no cracks to either the jar or stopper. The glass is clear with a bit of hazing that I have not tried to clean. There is one small nick to the bottle's rim(see photo 5) and tiny fleabites at the edge of the stopper. There are typical swirls, bubbles, straw marks ... moreand one minor rub. Measures 11" high to the lip. 12" high with the stopper& 5" in diameter at the base. This is a very nice large mold-blown Apothecary Bottle with ground glass neck and stopper. It is 6" high(7" w/ stopper) x 2-3/4" wide. The mold seam extends to the top of the shoulder and the neck and lip are applied. This antique bottle has a large number of air bubbles and the number"400" embossed on the base. The stopper has two mold seams. This vintage bottle and stopper are in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing. T here are a few light scratches on the bottle's outside surface. Glass made by this early American glass maker Whittle Tatum& Co. is highly sought after by collectors(bottom is marked PHILA WHITALL TATUM& CO D NEW YORK) Bottle measures about 4 1/4" and is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips(however, the glass stopper is missing) The hand blown bottle is clear glass with visible bubbles, as well as vertical seams remaining from the mold into which the glass was blown. 2 Sodium carbonate Na2CO3 125 ml with glass stoppers. Both are Clearly embossed. One clearly says Millville the other only has the T as in TCW that is legible. As you can see in the photo there is a small chip on the top. Both of these 125 ml bottles are in excellent used condition with glass stoppers. Neither bottle has any cracks or chips. One has some dust in the bottom which is visible in the photo. There is also some moisture condensation which is visible in the photos. There is one bottle: DIL ACID HYDROCHLORIC HCL 250 ml clearly embossed. The bottom is difficult to read. But I can vaguely make out Millville. There are no chips or cracks in this vintage bottle. This antique bottle is has wavy streaks& ripple marks in the glass and no trace of a mold seam. The open pontil scar is very jagged. The stopper has two mold seams. A large amber bottle with stopper. Measures approx. 12.75" high with stopper. Bottle measures approx. 11.5" high. Produced in a turn-mold. So lacks any mold seams or embossing. Given the characteristics they likely date from the last two decades of the 19th century. These are large'utility' type bottles- utility meaning of a style that was used for many products- could have been used for many types of liquid products. It stands about 7 1/4" tall with the stopper in. There are a few TINY flea bites on the stopper. Really nothing to be concered with. I see no other chips. Breaks or cracks. The bottle stands approximately 12 3/8" tall and has a base diameter of just more than 4 1/2" The bottle holds 5 pints and has the original label still intact. The screw on cap reads J. T. BAKER CHEMICAL. The label has a lot of print that is still legible. Included on the label is FOR MANUFACTURING USE ONLY. The jar is marked on the bottom 2283 0 3 B in a circle. Early Amber Methyl Orange Dropping Chemical Apothecary Bottle T.C.W. & Co.
Very cool old bottle. New Old Stock. still comes as found with paper covering on glass stopper and string to hold stopper to bottle. This has an interesting feature for the chemist. The bottle and stopper have grooves so you can align the stopper to a bubble on the neck of the bottle and get a nice measured drip. A nice compliment to your collection or maybe just the thing you need to drip your stuff with precision. Overall(with stopper) 4 inches tall. Unsure of exact age. I have one for my own use and have found it really nice to drip essential oils into the tub. A precise measured drip and no waste.

Up for auction is an Antique Borazel Apothecary Bottle made by Yale Chemical Co. New Haven Conn. The bottle is 2.5" tall. 1 1/4" wide and 1" deep and is a Milk Glass Bottle. It is stamped BORAZEL MADE BY YALE CHEMICAL CO. AT NEW HAVEN CONN. on the front. CATARRH on one side and HAY FEVER on the other. Borazel which can still be bought today is an ointment. The bottle is in good condition. There is a small chip on the top rim and the lid id missing. It still has medicine in it. The bottle is being sold as is.
