We recently acquired this bottle from the estate sale of a local chemist who had worked in Northwest NC for many years. This bottle was manufactured by the Pryrex Co. which is marked on the glass stopper. As well as on the bottom of the bottle itself. The piece has no chips, cracks or"fleabites" excellent condition. As you can see in the photos, there is a small, old label on the front of the bottle which is no longer legible. The bottle measures 6 1/2" high including the stopper, 5 3/8" without, and 2 1/2" in diameter across the bottom. Offered here for your bidding evaluation is this old Sulphuric Acid. Dil. H 2 SO 4 chemistry or apothecary bottle with a nice label still intact on its front. The bottle stands 6 7/8" tall and has a diameter of 3 3/8" With its clean lines and good looking label. This antique glass laboratory bottle can make an interesting decorative statement in the proper interior. The label has the look of paper but is evidently made of a stronger, long lasting material. The lettering has the appearance of being stenciled on. There is debris visible inside the bottle that I'm sure can be cleaned out. The label exhibits some minor soiling along with some faint writing penned on the right hand side. All I can make out of this writing is" IN Jan 64. This is a set of 6 T.C.W. Co. glass chemistry/Lab/Apothecary bottles with glass stoppers. They measure about 4 1/4. These bottles have the raised letters which say the following: DIL AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE. Bottom says: 5-M-8; DIL ACID SULPHURIC H2 SO4, bottom says: 3-M-8; DIL ACID HYDROCHLORIC HCL, only Co. name on bottom, USA; CON ACID HYDROCHLORIC HCL, 2-M-8; CON ACID SULPHURIC H2 SO4, 4-M-8; CONC AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE, 6-M-8. All of the bottles say T.C.W. Co. USA on bottom. I didn't find any chips or cracks, but I don't want to clean them. They need cleaning and I don't know how clean they will look after.
