Available for sale is a quite small early blown glass pantry jar. These glass containers were made for everyday storage use for a variety of kitchen staples and herbs. This jar has the traditional squat. Bulbous shape& form and has a large 1 1/2" diameter open pontil mark on the underside. The tin lid is domed-shaped and fits perfectly upon the glass jar. HOPE Denture Powder Small Orange Tin USA New York False Teeth Dental Apothecary
A very old and neat little orange jar. It is made of metal. And says HOPE Denture Powder on it. There is still something when I shake it. I am not sure of the age of this, but it was in with a bunch of stuff in the grandparents basement that is from 1900-1930. It measures about 2 1/4 inches tall, and when you open the cap, it looks like a salt or pepper shaker with holes punched through the metal. Antique Apothecary Jar Canister Tin Top
This is an antique octagonal apothecary glass jar/canister with a lovely tin top. The glass is quite substantial; likely used in a pharmacy or doctors office. And has a stepped base with great presence. The tin top is a classic form which does have a small dent, though this does not take from it's appeal. Additionally, there is a base corner with some roughness(as pictured) indicating regular use as well. The canister is 9" high by 5" in diameter. It is completely authentic, and would be a great addition to any collection.

Available for sale is an early blown glass apothecary or pantry jar with its original tin lid. This specific jar has a bulbous. Squat shape& form. The glass container measures 7 1/4" in height, 5 5/8" in diameter, and dates from 1860- 1885. It has a domed lid with two embossed concentric circles on top. The underside has a well"kicked- in" base and a large 2 1/4" diameter pontil scar. Of importance. The glass is quite clear with no stains, discoloration. Or repair. WOW! Here is a mid-19th Century Glass Apothecary jar with its original Tin Lid! What a great vintage jar. Look at the swirls and bubbles in the glass and the great hand crafted lid. I can't beleive this has survived. As it was made for utilitarian use, and is a thin fragile glass. It is in excellent condition for its age. Free of any chips or cracks. There is light surface scratching from use over the years, but it is minor. The top edge is ground as you can see in the pics. The tin lid is original, and was made out of 2 pieces of tin soldiered together. There is light SURFACe rust on the lid, but that can be removed by rubbing it with oil. I did not do this because although most people want it done, there are some purists who do not want to see it oiled. I will leave that up to you! It measures 7" high and 5.5" wide.
