Antique TCW Co Apathecary Bottle Nitric Acid NNO3 Glass Stopper
WOW! This is in nearly perfect condition. There is some interior and exterior residue and stopper is stuck but there are no chips. Cracks and no apparent wear to the raised lettering. SEE PHOTOS. I will leave any cleaning to the purchaser. This is a larger size measuring 5.5 inches tall with stopper and 2 inches across at the base. Research on the TCW Co finds this" T. C.W. CO. Apothecary bottle with glass stopper used for medical purposes. The bottom is stamped T.C.W. CO USA which is the TC Wheaton Company which operated between the years of 1888 and 1915 in Milville. New Jersey. The side seam on this goes all the way to the neck or base of the stopper. This will be packed well to protect its' integrity. Like all my items it is being sold as is. Vintage Nitric Acid Bottle, Raised Etched Glass Lettering Millville Bottle Works
here is an old chemical reagent bottle. Permanently labeled for dilute nitric acid. It has that raised, etched glass lettering that says: Acid Nitric Dil. HNO3. It stands about 4 3/8" tall and has a diameter of about 2" It holds about 125 mL. I don't really know how to grade the quality of items such as this, but it seems excellent, with no chips or cracks. The surface of the glass lettering was intentionally ground/ polished so that the lettering could be easily read. This bottle contains many tiny seeds that became trapped during the molding/ cooling process. This bottle is devoid of any chemical clouding- in fact. It looks pretty close to new. This bottle has a noticeable GRAY TINT to it. This bottle also displays six tiny bumps on the bottle's shoulders from the mold's"air venting holes" three in front. Three in back) Venting holes were incorporated into bottle molds around 1880. As molten glass was forced into the mold, vent holes allowed air to quickly escape from the bottle mold(increasing bottle production since molten glass could flow into the mold even faster) Whitall Tatum Company reagent bottles are much harder to locate- as a major competitor. T. C. Wheaton Company(also located in Millville) manufactured the majority of reagent bottles sold in the United States. An empty antique amber colored glass pharmacy jar/bottle with a paper label. The label is marked"Acid Nitric Merck Poison" with other information. The bottle has small scratch-like marks. Some small nicks, and a small chip near the bottom edge at the bottom of one side seam. The label shows wear. It has tears. Parts torn off, and is somewhat soiled. The stopper has a barely noticeable small chip on one side edge. Approximately 7 1/2" tall with the stopper. Please view all 12 pictures.

Up for auction is an Antique"Chemline American Drug Industries" NITRIC acid. Baker& adamson code 1120-the red banding Jar w/ Glass Ground Stopper and Dovetail Wooden Crate. Judging by the glass ground stopper I would date this 1890-1910. Wonderful piece. Great for any collection. Glass bottle is in great condition. No nicks. Chips or flea bites.
