Offering today an authentic antique lid which was most likely from an Apothecary or Pharmacy Bottle/Jar. This has the ground edge at bottom. There are a couple small fleabites around the top of the ground edge and a rough area on the inside edge(this was there from the factory I am sure) Measures 3-1/2" tall(total height) Opening is 3-1/2" across and tapers up slightly toward top of handle. Nice replacement top! These are hard to find in good clean condition.

Up for your consideration is an apothecary/ candy/ store display jar. Stand 12" tall with stopper. Graduated sides measure 6" across flat to flat. Stopper has oval shaped hobs. Jar has a small flake chip on the inside edge( about 12 oclock in pic) small flea bites to inner edge. see pic. No major damage. No cracks. Inner edge measures 3 5/8" across. Here's a rather hard to find and very desirable Dakota jar that belongs in every collection! Measures almost exactly 6" tall. Making it the smallest of the Dakota jars except for the very scarce 4-1/2" salesman sample jar. Embossed VACUUM OIL COMPANY and very likely a giveaway promotional item back around the turn of the century, it is in excellent condition with clear glass, jar is perfect, lid has only tiniest fleabite probably done in manufacturing when lid and jar were ground. Description My husband and I live in an old ice cream store in the heart of Philadelphia. We have collected antiques and oddities for years including old ice cream store utensils(in homage to the humble beginning of our abode:o) Now we're in the process of downsizing for a move and some of our precious clutter must be re-homed And so. That being said. for your consideration: A larger apothecary. Or drugstore counter jar in an unusual 12 sided shape with a braided lip The glass has some bubbles and flaws(as is common in antique jars and bottles) and a ground down pontil on the bottom. So I assume it is hand blown. It measures just under 7" tall and is approx. 5" in diameter The only damage is a very one small chip on the inside lip of the neck of the jar(which is invisible when the lid is on) and a small chip on the rim of the ... morelid that is hard to see even when you are looking for it. The lid has a rather unusual shape with a block handle and serrated teeth on the underside; it has the date PATENTED Dec 7. 1915 imprinted on the rim. Up for Sale is a Vintage Glass Apothecary Jar Pear Shaped It is in EXCELLENT original condition. I bought this at a farm auction in Wisconsin yesterday and it was nested in its original cardboard box from new. Being from the 1960's or so. The cardboard box had to be tossed. This piece has never been used. Please look at the shot of the bottom where it was marked with a price tag from FW Woolworth. The last photo tries to show a couple of very small black specs that appear to be part of the forming process when this was made. Antique Dakota Apothecary Jar Dakota style. Thumb print and diamond block design. Early 19th century. Used in pharmacies and candy stores. Measures: 11" high. 6" wide. 5.25" wide at base. There are small chips along the inner rim of the jar. The lid has a couple of teensy flea bites on the outer rim. None of these hurt the integrity or looks. These old jars were used daily. Mold marks inside the jar and on the stem. A light spot near top of jar that is in the glass. Not on the outside. Mold marks are normal in old glass Super nice old apothecary jar.
