This bottle measures 8.5 inches tall with a 4 inch in diameter base. The glass in this bottle is not all the way smooth as it has a rippled or wavy look and feel. As you can see in the 2nd to last picture. This bottle has" 505" etched in the glass. It appears to be a chemist etching. It is not well seen with the naked eye, but it shows up well with proper lighting. There are no other markings on the bottle. I am not sure what chemical it once contained. Antique Flat Top Brown Glass Apothecary Bottle Stopper 7/8" Top & 1/2" Dia.Stem
These are blown glass and it would be rare to have two exactly the same. They normally have a cork around the cone shape part. Imagine a cork in your Wine Bottle and how fragile it is. The cork on these is even thinner so they are often missing. The pictures will show the so called imperfections in the glass such as the bubble and the rough texture in the one pictured. These so called imperfections happen with the old glass process they used back in the day. The end of the cone appears to be broken. You are right! But that is how these are made. THE SIZE OF THIS ONE IS. 7/8" Diameter on the Top and the Thickest part of the Cone is 1/2" Diameter. So you will need a bottle that has a opening/hole of at least 1/2" or larger for this Glass Stopper. You will get the one exactly as pictured and by size. Thanks for looking!

This one is large and the label(in German) indicates it held procainum hydrochloridum(Novocaine) Bottle measures about 5" high(with the glass stopper in place) and the bottom is 2.75" wide and 2" deep(rectangular) The opening is approximately 1 inch. The Glass stopper fits tightly and still has the string tied holding it in place as it was when I acquired it. There is a strip of paper between the stopper and the bottle which I believe was used to indicate of any moisture. The attached paper label is shown in the pictures and somewhat faded. MENTH. VIR. This means SPEARMINT WATER. Made of a solution of oil of spearmint and water. The gold label is held in place by a clear curved piece, made of either glass or porcelain. If this is lifted, the fragile old paper will fall apart. I found that out on another similar bottle. The clear curved piece sits in a recess in the bottle atop the label. The bottle is 8 1/2 inches tall with the stopper in place. The bottom is 2 3/4 inches across the bottom. Please ask all questions before the auction ends. I am happy to answer any you have. It has a soothing effect when rubbed on the painful area. It is still used today. It was also just known as Liniment. The gold label is held in place by a clear curved piece. Made of thin glass.
