Glass Label Apothecary Bottle~LUG ~Pharmacy~C 1800s Blown Glass
Apothecary Bottle Circa. 1800's. 9 1/2" tall Blown Glass. LUG(Label Under Glass) The stoppers ground glass base is chipped and the Glass Label is in poor condition. See photo below) The thumbprint top was made wth a large shapely bubble of air in the center section and has no chips or cracks, and the indents are sharply cut. There is a pontil mark on the base. The apothecary bottle. Circa 1870s came from a Brooklyn Pharmacy established in 1875. It measures 9 1/2" high to the top of the ground glass stopper by 2 3/4" wide at the base. I will also include an original printed envelope(see below) Showing the location and establishment date of the pharmacy where this bottle was used. Antique opium canister bottle apothecary pharmacy glass label glass stopper
This auction is for an antique opium bottle. About 8" h. It has a glass label which is broken off right around the"O" in opii. Label is extremely fragile and pieces flake off easily. There a few broken pieces I will include. Stopper appears to fit. However I don't know if it is original. Bottom of stopper looks as though it may have broken. Bottle appears hand blown, as there is a bubbly pontil( on the bottom(which is rough around the edges) but I'm not sure. Bottle has some scuff marks and bubble, but no cracks. I have not attempted to clean this. It is old and very cool but shows its age! Being sold as is, as found, please look at all pictures. I am not a collector or expert. Wonderful rare Antique APOTHECARY Bottle with Stopper Crocus on the Glass label The bottle is in very good condition. No cracks Roughness underneath on bottom probably from the making of the bottle. I assume hand blown Original Stopper. Some roughness small chips on the inside bottom of the stopper You do not see this and not uncommon for its age Bottle is about 7 1/2 inches tall and stopper addes another 1 1/4 inches For total height of 8 3/4 inches Round bottle about 3 1/2 inches wide The Crocus label is under glass A couple of cracks on the glass lable with some chips on the left handside of the label Again. Whitall Tatum 1889 Glass Label Apothecary Bottle LUG Glyco-Thymoline A very nice apothecary jar made by the Whitall Tatum Company. It is embossed on the bottom with"Pat Apr 2 1889 W.T. Co. The label is under glass. The inside of the neck and the stopper bottom are acid frosted. The stopper itself is such a little piece of art. Looks to be hand blown and"hollow" on the inside. It has a decorative thumbnail design around the top. The bottle measures 5 3/4" tall(with stopper) and 1 3/4" deep. There are no chips or cracks to the bottle and the label is completely intact. There is some"cracking" for lack of a better term- I really don't know much about old bottles) to the label but given the age. This seems very insignificant to me. There is no heavy clouding or residue to the inside of the bottle. The stopper ... morehas one tiny chigger on one of the thumbnails but this was only noticed by touch and nothing major. It once held Glyco-Thymoline which appears to have been mouth wash. I think"Scope" sounds much more user friendly. don't you? Rare Brown Glass GERMAN Apothecary Pharmacy Novocain Bottle with Label & Stopper
Nice antique BROWN or AMBER glass bottle from a German medical office. I have a few interesting RARE bottles from this collection to list. This one is large and the label(in German) indicates it held procainum hydrochloridum(Novocaine) Bottle measures about 5" high(with the glass stopper in place) and the bottom is 2.75" wide and 2" deep(rectangular) The opening is approximately 1 inch. The Glass stopper fits tightly and still has the string tied holding it in place as it was when I acquired it. There is a strip of paper between the stopper and the bottle which I believe was used to indicate of any moisture. The attached paper label is shown in the pictures and somewhat faded. Antique glass label Apothecary Pharmacy Bottle- Tr. GUAIACI Grecian Key design
This is a real beauty. Many of these glass label jars have the label shattered or missing. This one is not. In fact it is in great shape. Bottle is 7.5 inches tall. 8.5 with the stopper. The stopper may or may not be original. It looks like it was much longer at one time, like it had a dauber on the end. It is broken off and is the size of a normal stopper. The end is obviously broken but it fits in just fine. The label is reverse painted with a Grecian Key design and red highlights. It is in beautiful shape. It is a square bottle. The label reads Tr. Guaiaci. This was a purgative that apparently"cleared out whatever ailed you" Bottom is embossed. Looks like it says FS St. Louis Mo. and Patd March 6 1884. The bottle looks to be hand blown. It has imperfections-bubbles, blisters and some cooling cracks within the glass. The two tiny ... morecooling cracks are at the edge of the lip. This is a really beautiful bottle, in uncommonly good condition with a gorgeous label. The two photos of the label are done one with flash and one without. Vintage drug pharmacy bottle"LUPULIN" Bottom of bottle PATD March 22nd 1892. It's 6 7/8" tall(including top) 2 1/8" square, front and back slightly bulged. The top has a grounded bottom with some chips, no other chips and it has 12 decorative round cutouts around diameter. The bottle has no chips does have a few bubbles in glass. This is an original bottle and hasn't been cleaned, still has some powder residue. The label is under glass and looks to be in pretty good condition. There is only one fracture on the glass covering the label(Top Left Side) It is cobalt blue(valuable color with these bottles) and has what looks like original stopper. It has pontil mark on bottom. A Pontil mark or punt mark is the scar where the. Punty or punt was broken from a work of. The presence of such a scar indicates that a glass bottle or bowl was blown freehand. While the absence of a punt mark suggests either that the mark has been obliterated or that the work was mold-blown. It's a very good looking bottle. The person I bought it from left masking tape over top to prevent cap from falling out and breaking. The masking tape was very aged and left residue ... moreon glass. I cleaned it the best I could.
