It has a classic art deco styling. The frame that holds the globe is cast aluminum. It has mild oxidation but overall looks fantastic for the age. The globe looks awesome. It has a couple small nicks around the neck. It is an acorn shape and has a glass cork which fills with liquid as well. It has the cast aluminum matching ceiling base to give it the appearance of standard lighting. This is a very cool piece. These are getting harder and harder to find. Antique Ruby Red Amber Pumpkin Seed Apothecary Bottle Ribbed Smooth Pontil Deco
Very unusual and attractive apothecary bottle. Nice amber to ruby red. Blown in 2 part mold, smooth pontil. The inside of the neck is ground to accept a stopper, but there is no stopper with this item. Measures 6+1/2" tall, 4+1/2" W& 2+1/4" thick. It is pumpkin seed flask shaped with front& back rectangular smooth panels flanked by vertical ribbing. Very Deco style. Not a reproduction. Excellent used condition. Only notable abrasions to base as would be expected from a bottle with age. No chips, cracks or pits. Inside very clean, but could be improved, no residue. No maker's mark. Selling AS IS, AS SHOWN. This exclusive matching pair of"beehive" design apothecary display jars with ART DECO aluminum bases. They are both missing the original stoppers. These were probably once used as a window display for drug stores, druggist and pharmacies. The jars alone are 13 1/2" tall, 31 1/2" in circumference at widest point on the jar. Where the stopper would go is 2" diameter and the outer lip is 3 1/2" diameter. The stand alone is 10 5/8" tall and 9 5/8" across at the feet. Jar and stand together are 18 3/8" tall. Each jar and stand do show authentic age and wear. Each jar does show bubbles and light inconsistencies that were probably created during the manufacturing process. The condition is excellent with minor handling wear with a few light scratches. The base has a good deal of age appropriate wear and the interior is clean.
