This one is ... moreLARGE and the label(in German) indicates it held NATRIUM CHLORATUM(Sodium Chloride) Bottle measures about 6.5" high(with the glass stopper in place) and 2.75" across the bottom. The opening is approximately 1.5 inches. The Glass stopper fits tightly and still has the string tied holding it in place as it was when I acquired it. There is a strip of paper between the stopper and the bottle which I believe was used to indicate of any moisture. The attached paper label is shown in the pictures and there is also a small pink label on the opposite side of the bottle located above the number 480 etched into the glass. These are three different medicine bottles. I am not sure what year they are. From Left to Right. The first bottle is 5 5/8" tall and has 12 sides. On the bottle it has"Hoff's German Liniment Goodrich& Jennings Anoka, Minn. It has an uneven blown on the bottle as shown in photo#4 giving an impression that there is oil in the bottle. Has air bubbles. Please inspect photo 2- 4. Bottle number 2 is 4 6/8" tall. Imprinted on the bottle is"George Rau Apothecary 101 Second Ave Cor 5th St. N.Y. The cork is inside the bottle. Antique c1880 Set of 3 Large German Apothecary Containers
Up for bid is a set of three c1880 German apothecary containers. The containers are approximately 1 gallon containers and measure 9" tall. 6" wide, and has a diameter of 8" The lid and bottom of the containers are made of solid wood and the body or mid section is made of what looks like a particle board type of material. The apothecary names on the containers include; Strobali Lupuli, Herba Tanaceti, and Rad. Senegae. The containers came over to the USA from an antique collector in Germany. They are all in very good condition but do have age appropriate cosmetic wear which can be seen in the photos. They are all structurally sound. The underside of the lids and containers have writing on them from when the containers were actually used and pertains to the name and measurements of the contents of the containers. Rare Brown Glass GERMAN Apothecary Pharmacy Novocain Bottle with Label & Stopper
Nice antique BROWN or AMBER glass bottle from a German medical office. I have a few interesting RARE bottles from this collection to list. This one is large and the label(in German) indicates it held procainum hydrochloridum(Novocaine) Bottle measures about 5" high(with the glass stopper in place) and the bottom is 2.75" wide and 2" deep(rectangular) The opening is approximately 1 inch. The Glass stopper fits tightly and still has the string tied holding it in place as it was when I acquired it. There is a strip of paper between the stopper and the bottle which I believe was used to indicate of any moisture. The attached paper label is shown in the pictures and somewhat faded. Below the label and on the opposite side of the bottle the number 280 is etched by hand into the glass. Bottom of bottle has raised marking: 150 X Good ... morecondition. No cracks or chips. This vintage porcelain apothecary jar measures 4.25" tall by 3.5" at widest point. Base measures 2.75" wide. The apothecary jar is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and has a light blue crackel pattern over the entire surface while the main identifying design reads"Amyl. Pair Antique German Wood / Fiber-Cardboard Apothecary Jars
This is an interesting pair of German Apothecary Jars. The bodies of the Jars are constructed of a heavy card-paperboard- with wooden Lids. Bottoms- and wooden Banding around the outside. The Jars measure 5 1/2 inches in diameter and are 9 inches tall to the top of the knob on the lid. The Jars have paper labels reading: 1- Folia Jugland. CC. 2- Seman Sinapis PLV. The Jars are a dark chocolate brown with black banding on the lids and around the bottoms- with black painted knobs. One of the Jars has a paper label on the bottom: Baumweg-Drogerie Hans Berger Nubblatter Frankfurt I am guessing that these Jars date around 1900- 1920.
