The tops have very minimal roughness but no big chips you can't see anything just feel. The inside has few minor dings from use. All in all these are wonderful my mom had these for many many years and she bought them t an auction 11" high x 5" square. Maker is unknown.

Large Green Apothecary Drug Store Candy Jar Antique Blown Glass Ground Lid
Large green blown glass apothecary- drug store jar. Measures almost 9" in height& 5.25" at it's widest. Jar is in very good vintage condition with no damage other than a few nicks on the base of the lid(see photo) which is not noticeable when lid is on. Lid rim& inside where it fits is ground. There are tiny air bubbles and waves through out the glass which is typical for the period. It has been in storage for years and I didn't bother cleaning it up after unwrapping so it will look a bit dusty. Lovely piece to look at and admire!

Vtg Amber GLASS w Ground Lid CANISTER APOTHECARY JAR This is a vintage amber glass canister with ground lid. It measures 12" tall. Including lid, 9 3/4" tall without lid) It is 5 1/2" in diameter. It has 10 faceted sides. Interior lid rim has 2 very small chips, top of lid has one very small chip, or ding on edge. See pics 5 and 6 for examples of chips. Jar has 2 tiny flea bites on inside rim, hard to notice) Jar weighs 5 lbs. Sides of jar have a faint impression of water stains, or similar marks; perhaps a mineral or calcium deposit that has lightly marked the glass. I tried to clean it off without success. It is not very obvious unless one holds the jar up to the light.

This antique Apothecary Drug Store glass jar looks great BUT has some chipping around the top rim. The ground lid also looks great but has a few chips around the bottom base as well along with some slight discoloration. This is a great old rippled glass apothecary jar with a ground lid and the top is ground also. On the bottom it is marked with a W or it could be an M inside of a circle and I couldn't find out any information on the maker. It measures 10" tall and approx 5 1/2" across. The opening is 2 3/8" across. I am not sure if this is a medical jar or a drug store jar. It's nice and heavy and would look good with candy sticks or one of your collectibles inside. Antique Clear Glass Apothecary Candy Jar Lid Top: Spiral Rosette, Ground 2 3/8"
Antique- Vintage Apothecary. Pharmacy, Candy Jar Lid or Top Estimated circa 1900 Pretty. Decorative top in a spiral, rosette, almost flower-like pattern(see photo) Has ground base. Measures about 2 3/4" tall and diameter of base. The part that fits into the jar below is 2 7/8" wide. The opening itself is 2" diameter. This came from the estate of a woman who collected old apothecary and candy jars. I thought the pattern was unusual and very pretty, so I bought it thinking someone on eBay will like it for their jar missing a lid. I do not know exact age, although I can guess circa 1900. I also do not know the maker. There are no maker or date marks on the item. Condition is as you see in the photos. I took pictures from all sides so you can see exactly what you will receive. No large chips or cracks in the glass. Glass does have ... morea few imperfections like waves which to me add to its character and confirm age. Some tiny nips at seams and edges. But really they are so small most people would not even mention. Most importantly, so please be sure you are ok with this, because it is old, the base area where it was ground(looks frosted) has some light yellow discoloration areas. This is an antique glass countertop/ apothecary candy store jar. It is comes complete with its original ground glass stopper. It stands 12-1/4” tall and is 4-3/8” in diameter is in excellent condition. The jar has no mold marks and appears to be hand blown with a pontil mark on the bottom. The stopper has 2 mold marks. The glass has a very pale lavender/ amethyst cast and there are air bubbles in the glass of the stopper and in the jar itself. The bottom of the jar shows wear consistent with age. Wonderful Big Old Glass CANDY JAR BOTTLE. Ground Lid VINTAGE APOTHECARY CANDY JAR Wonderful old 1930s heavy glass candy or apothecary jar measuring 11-1/8" tall. Featuring a square shape with ground collar. Lid has a raised dot design which repeats around the edge and is also ground. Condition is excellent with no damage other than light scratching and rubbing from contact with other jars- typical wavy glass with some occlusions due to manufacture. Loads of included bubbles and string like mold cooling marks ... morethat upon first glance you would think them cracks- which they are not. The interior of the jar is very smooth. The exterior mold lines are bumpy and irregular. There two faint polished ghost seams 3 1/2" to the right of the rough seams. The original intended purpose of this fine jar is unknown. It has performed many years as a countertop flour canister. Measurements: Height: 13" with lid; 9 5/8" without Diameter of top: 12" Outside diameter of cylinder: 10 1/4" Inside diameter: 9 5/8" Inside depth: 9" Bottom Diameter: 9" contact surface curves out and upward to 10 1/4" Low Waist indent: 5/8" Liquid capacity: Approx 2.5 gallons Condition: Very good overall condition. RARE Vintage/Antique–Apothecary Bottles with Ground Glass Domed Lid and Penny Head Stopper A very uncommon and unusual ground glass bottle with a ground glass domed lid giving a complete seal around a ground glass penny head stopper. Last one remaining in my collection) Large bottle is Approximately 2 ¾ inches wide and 7 3/8 inches tall. Small bottle is Approximately 1 5/8 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches tall. Still contains the factory paper in the stopper hole to prevent sticking. These bottles look extra good to me with the only defect being a small chip in the domed lid of the large bottle(which is well documented in the photos) No markings on the large bottle. Very Large Antique Hand Blown Apothecary Bottle with Ground Glass Lid and Pontil Mark You are bidding on a Rare Early(circa 1870-1880) Large Antique Hand Blown Apothecary Bottle with Ground Glass Lid. It shows the pontil mark on the base indicating that it was handmade. The bottle measures about 17 ½” 445 mm) tall. It is about 7 ½ in diameter. It has some waviness form the blowing and turning during it making. The shoulders are nice and round and the neck transforms into a nice 3” diameter opening. It is relatively lightweight for its size attesting to the skill of the glass blower who made it. There is virtually no wear and the bottle is in excellent chip and crack free condition. There are some minor defect at the rim of the opening; but nothing that detracts from its beauty and form. See photos. Here is a glass lid for a candy or apothecary jar. This came from the estate of a collector. The base of the ground stopper has an outside diameter of 3 3/4" with the taper widening to about 4" though this last measurement is hard to get precise) This had a sticker with it that said Dakota lid. It has 15 of the"thumb print" type impressions going around it. It has a ground glass base. Three seam lines. Very good condition. Only has a few minor small scratches and the inside lip has a few sand grain sized nicks(see last photo) and one sand grain nick to outside rim. This will be safely packaged.

Louis Agassiz commisioned The New England Glass Co between 1860 and his death in 1873 for the finest handblown glass of the time. The best or clearest was flint or lead glass. The jar was part of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University for over 100 years before it was decided to transfer collection to improved speciman collection system. Jar comes signed document verification of estimated age of jar from 1976 by Karen Wulfsberg. Curator of the Collection. This bottle or jar is between 138 and 148 years old. This Jar is 5 1/8" tall in very good condition, no chips, cracks or scuffs, bottom looks great, inside has the slightest of residue rings& a nice slight soapy smell, lid fits perfectly in jar, diameter at base is 3" and jar tappers ever so slightly to approx 2 3/4" towards top, there are two"fluted" panels and two solid panels on body of jar.

Glass Clear Square 9.5 inch Canister or Storage Jar. With a ground glass lid in the Dakota or Baby Thumbprint pattern. Both jar and lid are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. Please note in photos 4 and 5, on the lid are two tiny areas on the lid. I can't call these chips. I think they are bubbles from manufacturing that are causing rough spots. You be the judge. The canister measures 4 and 5/8 inches in diameter at the top, is 5 1/8 inches square at the base and stands 9 1/2 inches tall with lid. These square canisters are very hard to find. Antique Apothecary Jar ground glass lid M.B.W. 1903-1926 marked M.B.W. USA
A antique glass Apothecary jar made by the Millville Bottle Works of Millville N.J. This bottle works was started in 1903-1926 when they were bought out by the J. C. Wheaton Co. M.B.W. made medicine bottles primarily. This piece stands 6 3/4" without lid and 7 1/2" to top of lid. It is 2 7/8" in diameter at the base. The lid and the neck of the jar are ground for fit. M.B.W. USA is impressed on the bottom of the jar. The underside of the lid handle is chipped. This would have been removed and laid down is normal everyday activity and as old as the jar is. It probably is normal wear and tear. The chipped lid is shown in pictures 4 and 5. This condition does not impair the functionality of the jar. A very nice piece for your collection. THIS IS A VINTAGE CLEAR HEAVY GLASS SPOTHECARY JAR OR BOTTLE. IT IS APPROX. 10 1/2" TALL FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP OF THE LID. THE LID IS DIAMOND SHAPED AND GROUND AROUND THE BOTTOM. THE JAR HAS SIDES THAT ARE CURVED IN IN THE MIDDLE AND IS ALSO GROUND INSIDE THE TOP RIM. THERE IS A MINUTE SIZED CHIP ON THE EDGE OF THE BOTTOM OF THE LID. Vintage Glass Apothecary Jar With Ground Lid Thumbprint Stopper St. Louis
This is another one of my apothecary jars that I've had for years. It is about 10 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide. What I loved about it was the heavy thumbprint ground glass stopper. It is marked on the bottom but is blurry. I can make out St. Louis and Pat. 1884 or 1894. Now it does have a crack that starts down one side then goes underneath. The crack you cannot feel it except for a tiny part of it on the bottom. It looks like it was sat down too hard at one time. It is still a large and beautiful jar. If you have any questions. The Jars are heavy glass: The large Jar is approximately 7 lbs and the small is 2 lbs. The Jars you see in the photos above are the ones you are bidding on and will receive. This is a very Nice Apothecary Jar in the stars and moon pattern. I have shown two but the other has already sold in another auction. This is the older of the 2 and has air bubbles. Heavier, and only a small chip on the inside rim of the stopper. It measures: 7.75" H, 9.5" H w/the stopper. It has a 5.5" Dia. and the stopper is 4" Dia. Thanks.
