Antique Vintage Drop Front Secretary Mahagany Writing Table Deco Unusual
This is a very interesting piece of furniture as is has a nice balance with center column of drawers flanked by two recessed small cubicle. The top drawer is a drop front for a desk or writing table. The inside of the front has a nice storage station with two adorable little drawers. The piece is slightly deco and has a subtle beveled edge near the floor. The hardware works well and is original. The drawers work well but are not made with glides so you do need to use two hands to operate them. The finish has normal wear for its age and some scratches to the finish. There are a couple of deeper scratches. Overall this is in fine condition and ready for use. The piece measures 45 1/4" wide 14" deep in the center and 12" deep on the sides. The desk surface when the front is dropped is 29" tall and 25" wide. The drawers ... morehave 7" faces and are 6" deep and 24" wide. The side cupboards measure 32" tall and 8" wide. The top section of the cupboard is 16 1/2" tall and the bottom 15 1/2" Due to the size on this it will be shipped Greyhound which delivers to your nearest depot and you need pick it up upon arrival. Here is a really fantastic deal on a terrific antique quartersawn oak bureau bookcase with drop front desk or secretary as they are commonly referred to here in the US. This lovely desk with bookcase above and drawers below was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is constructed of beautiful quartersawn oak, really nice metal pulls and leaded glass doors protecting the bookcase. This delightful piece stands 72 inches tall and measures 31 inches wide by 18 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely in two pieces, the top 27 3/4 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches deep front to back and 32 1/2 inches tall. The dimensions within the top cabinet are 31 inches tall by 27 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches front to back and has two adjustable shelves as well as the base of the cabinet to serve as three shelves within the cabinet. The ... morebureau base with desk stands 39 1/2 inches tall and is 31 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, and 28 inches deep when the drop front desk is open. The work surface of the desk measures 27 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, with an embossed leather pad writing surface of 24 inches long by 9 wide and is 31 1/4 inches above the floor. There are a number of cubbies along the back of the inside of the desk as well as a small drawer for storing supplies and personal items. There are two large bureau drawers below the drop front desk. Each 23 and 1/2 inches wide and 12 1/2 inches front to back and are both 5 inches deep. Overall this magnificent desk offers everything you need to keep your books. Papers and other supplies or even clothing organized as well as offering a convenient compact work station within an attractive wood cabinet.
