Condition: Used Location: Novato, United States I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

Dimensions: overall size-73" tall. 34" wide, 18" depth. Bottom drawer interior space- 30.25" wide. 14.75" length, 4.25" deep. Top drawer interior space- 28" wide. 14.75" length, 3.25" deep. Drawers in top portion- 4 at 11"wide. 1.75" deep& 2 at 10" wide, 1.75" deep. Sturdy. Well made, dovetailed drawers- very clean, easily open& close, no sticking, original drop pulls. Sturdy drop down desk writing surface with pull-out supports- chip on the front. Beautiful Antique Chippendale Style Mahogany Secretary Desk
This has been in our family since it was bought new- probably in the 1920s- maybe a little earlier. It is in very good condition- original finish and all original hardware and glass. It is very solid. And inside it has various neat cubbies, including two hidden compartments. It has claw feet and a lot of nice details. I have looked around, but haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. The manufacturer's label is long gone, but it is a quality piece(the original owner had a seat on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange) We would keep it but can't find a place to put it in our house.
