The large Secretary Desk Bookcase has a half round mirror on the left top side over the desk area and the right top side has a double brass finial and rod gallery over the bookcase area. Everything is completely original except for the mirror which was broken has been replaced. There is a small wood professional repair to the bottom left corner of the drop front lid but that is minor and matches the grain and not noticeable. It has been completely refinished to restore its original Golden Oak finish and ready for your beautiful home. Notice the beautiful quartered sawed oak grain through out the piece and the deep heavy ornate carvings and bead work. What a great piece of furniture. It doesn't get any better than this! There are three shelves in the bookcase that are adjustable. There is one shelf below in the lower double door compartment that locks underneath the desk. Each drawer and door has a skeleton key lock with two keys included. Inside the desk is a beautiful pigeon hole interior and one small drawer with a brass knob. The piece is complete with an open shelf above the drop down desk. The piece is 50" wide. 14" deep, and 80 1/4" or 6 ft. 8 1/4" tall. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. Macey stack bookcase with bottom drawer and what I believe is a drop front desk. Quartersawn oak. Macey numbers 912 and 12130 stickered on back panels. In very good. Solid condition considering age. Some chips, stains and cracking(drawer bottom) here and there as would be expected. Purchased from well-known antique dealer(Wooden Nickel) in Cincinnati 15+ years ago. This lovely desk with bookcase above and drawers below was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is constructed of beautiful quartersawn oak, really nice metal pulls and leaded glass doors protecting the bookcase. This delightful piece stands 72 inches tall and measures 31 inches wide by 18 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely in two pieces, the top 27 3/4 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches deep front to back and 32 1/2 inches tall. The dimensions within the top cabinet are 31 inches tall by 27 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches front to back and has two adjustable shelves as well as the base of the cabinet to serve as three shelves within the cabinet.
