The flame mahogany looks incredible. With a rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to complement any setting. Each drawer is adorned with elegant solid brass pulls and features dovetailed joints. The writing surface is inlaid with rich brown leather bordered by gold tooling-which was replaced during a recent restoration that also included a new coat of hand-rubbed wax. In total, this desk features three drawers and two cabinets on one side, with seven standard drawers and a file drawer on the other. Conveniently this desk disassembles quite easily: like all pedestal desks, the top simply rests securely on the two pedestals. Some of the surfaces show some minor wear marks, particularly on the feet, but they are very minor indeed, so overall condition is excellent, especially for a desk from this period. This wonderful Desk has dove-tailed drawers that are made out of solid wood on the inside, and they are working properly. This beautiful Writing Desk has antique Brass-finish handles, see pictures, and it is a high-quality piece with an apron on the top and long tapered legs. This classic Desk was produced by Tomlinson. All four Queen Anne style legs are the perfect proportion for the desk and connected with a decorative apron in the front. Beautiful brass handles were used on the two drawers. The drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetails giving a glimpse of the skill and quality of construction that went into this antique Queen Anne desk. Finally. A fully finished back allows you to place the desk anywhere in your room. Overall this desk is in very good and sturdy condition. The front right foot has a good bit of wear at the bottom as shown in the photos. There is an age separation on the back and two very small ones on the top. Minor wear in the form of tiny marks are present on the piece as well and help to give it character. The height from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 21.5″ except where the decorative apron comes down which is 19.75″ This front right leg has some wear by the foot. The finished back has one small age separation. The shaped apron extends around the sides as well. Both sides look great! The black leather makes a wonderful writing surface for this desk.
