Condition: Used Location: Mansfield, United States Antique Oak High Back Swivel Banker’s Lawyer’s Executive Desk Chair Wakefield For sale is an antique oak high back swivel banker’s lawyer’s executive ... moredesk chair. It is pretty unique with the solid top backrest with scroll top corners. The base mechanism is marked H. B. W. Co. Heywood Brothers& Wakefield Company. That dates it from 1897 to 1921. Swivels and is on casters. This chair is in excellent condition with some minor chips along the left edge of the backrest and a small dark spot on the seat. There are a couple of places where the bolts/ screws need tightening. There are no splits or repairs to the wood. The base was removed at some point. Possibly at the time the chair may have been refinished. I’m not sure. When the base was reattached, new holes were used right in front of the original ones and unoriginal screws were used. There are also about 4 small holes in the seat bottom, 2 on each side. I don’t know what this was for. The seat is about 17 inches from the ground. The backrest is about 40 inches high. This chair was removed from a storage unit filled with the inventory from a New Hampshire antique shop. This is the last piece of oak furniture from the storage. The pieces were all in beautiful condition and excellent quality. Located in Irvine. CA. Pick up is free. Due to size, this chair will have special freight requirements. I can unscrew the base to make it smaller, but it will still be large.

Description Up for sale is a Gilbert Rohde original 1940 Herman Miller Kidney Desk-Rare Gilbert Rohde biography Designer Gilbert Rohde(1894-1944) The son of a cabinetmaker, was born and raised in New York. He left high school to pursue a variety of jobs, landing a short stint at a local paper, the Bronx News, drawing political cartoons. In 1923 he turned the experience into a job as an illustrator at the Abraham& Strauss department store. Inspired by a trip to the Paris Exhibition in 1925, Rohde began designing furniture and his early work was sold at Lord& Taylor. An exuberant modernist, his pieces gleaned simplicity and rationalism from Bauhaus design and a sense of form and ornamentation from Art Deco. He worked predominantly in Bakelite and chrome, the materials that madeup the visual vocabulary of the period. Between 1927-28 ... moreRohde designed the interiors for Avedon fashion stores. Where his wife was part of the advertising team. Heywood-Wakefield of Massachusetts began picking up his designs in 1930, with a bentwood chair being one of their most successful pieces. Antique Drop Front Secretary Desk- 1940's- Solid wood. Has large Ball and Claw feet. And all original brass hardware. It has three drawers, and inside of the drop down has three drawers, a door and six cubby holes. The drop-down locks, but I don't have the key for it. The dimensions are 43" high x 34" wide x 17" deep. With the drop-down open, it is 29" deep. It has a 2-1/2" x 3" section of the lower left front corner where a piece of the veneer is missing. It has some age and wear scratches, and one of the brass drawer pulls is broken, but I have the piece that broke off. These flaws can be seen in the photos. Therefore, this is an as is sale.
