Antique 1900-1950 Slant Drop Front Oak Secretary Desk - Lionhead
I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite like it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. Antique Secretary Desk Slant Front Wood Mahogany Rockford Chair & Furniture LPU
Selling this wood secretary desk. This was made by the Rockford Chair and Furniture Co. Rockford ILL. I am not 100% certain, but the research I've done makes me believe it was made between 1920 and 1930, but I could be wrong. This desk measures about 32 1/4" wide by 40" tall. Measures about 17 1/2" deep when closed and 29 1/2" when opened. Has various signs of age/use. Such as light scratches, a chip out of the front foot and some rough marks in the one drawer. Please have a thorough look at the photos for details. I am not sure what wood it is but I believe it is mahogany? We do not have the key. Local Pick Up Only! Cash on pick up preferred.

Antique 19th Century Primative Pine Wood Schoolmaster's Slant Top Desk Gallery
Primitive Schoolmaster's Desk This is a gorgeous piece of early American history. This is a primitive schoolmaster's style desk. We are quite certain that this piece dates back to the early part of the 1800's. The desk was hand-made and was constructed using square nails. We suspect that the wood used is pine. Some sections of the desk were made using wood planks as large as 22" wide! A board on the top is 17 1/2" wide and one on the side measures 21" wide. Boards of this size only reinforce the old age of this piece. The desk has the following measurements: Height: 35" Width: 38" Depth: 28 1/2" Kneehole Opening: 23 3/4" tall(at center) by 19 3/4" wide, There are four roughly-cut drawers on the right side of the desk. They measure as follows: First: 11 3/4" wide by 18 1/4" deep ... moreby 2" tall Second: 11 3/4" wide by 18 1/4" deep by 3 1/4" tall Third: 11 3/4" wide by 18 1/4" deep by 4 1/4" tall Fourth: 11 3/4" wide by 18 1/4" deep by 5 1/4" tall, The drawer bottoms show evidence of being cut by a mill saw. They are all hand-planed and chamfered. One of the drawers does have a small hole in the face where a lock was removed. The right side of the desk is supported by 2 simple-style turned legs. There is a railed book gallery running across the back/top of the desk. This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. Regardless of age, this desk is still very sturdy. It appears as though the desk was once painted, but was later striped to reveal the natural wood finish. Tiny pieces of evidence of the previous paint job can be found in corners, cracks and crevices. The drawer pulls are old, but do not appear to be original to this piece. This desk is nearly 200 years old. It shows wear consistent to its age in the form of cracks, chips, scratches and general bumps and bruises. Antique Drop Front/Slant Front Secretary Desk- 1940's- Solid wood. Has Ball and Claw feet. And all original brass hardware. One brass drawer pull is broken, but I have the piece that broke off. It has three drawers, and inside of the drop down has three drawers, a door and six cubby holes. The drop-down locks, but I don't have the key for it. The dimensions are 43" high x 34" wide x 17" deep. With the drop-down open, it is 29" deep. It has a 2-1/2" x 3" section of the lower left front corner where a piece of the veneer is missing. It has a few age and wear scratches. The support hinge on the left side inside of the drop down is broken, but still sits level with the good one, so it does not sag. It may be able to be repaired, and if not, can be easily replaced. These flaws can all be seen in the photos.
