Hello. Here's a great old project desk. OAK SECRETARY DESK! It measures: 41" Tall in the back. The desk to is approx 28" off floor, 30 3/4" Wide x 14" Deep, with 2 3/4" deep Drawers. It's very solid& quite attractive despite is custom huumm paint job. It looks like pretty OAK underneath. Just needs some elbow grease to bring it back out. It needs work but it's not all hammered up, doesn't look like it's been abused(except for paint) I have no keys to it, unknown if locks work properly. This desk has the original curved. Rounded glass on the left side, which makes it really beautiful and elegant. There are shelves behind the glass to hold books and miscellaneous. The right side has a pull-down writing platform. And some cubby holes for envelopes, index cards, etc. and a small drawer for pencils, stamps, etc. Desk has all original hardware. The top has a beveled mirror and a shelf for decorative or practical items. The shelves to the left could be taken out and used as a gun case, but I've never used it for that, and you would have to put in your own lock and key. This is for pick-up only. Excellent Antique Oak Larkin No 17 Secretary's Desk
I've been busy trying to get some good stuff in shop to try to jump-start sales a bit and upcoming shopping season is coming quickly. I went to a good auction in upstate New York the other day and tried to pick up smaller furniture that fits within Greyhound Express size limits. Anyway this is a score and I'm proud to offer this for your consideration. I believe this is a No 17 model desk and it is truly in very nice condition with no signs of repairs or break except the bottom drawer has a minor glue in corner. The finish is very good as the pictures should show off and the original key works fine and all hardware is original and working perfectly. It is nice and sturdy a sets flush with no wobbles. It measures 47" tall x 30" wide x 17" deep. The back is not beautiful with the white wash but the original Larkin labels ... moreare present and in good shape. Once again Greyhound Express is great and should ship this for about 90 west coast and 70 east. As long as you can pick it up. Local pick up is always option too and I now have a utility trailer and can deliver within reason. ANTIQUE OAK SECRETARY MADE BY LARKIN For Sale: This is a nice looking Antique Oak Secretary Made by Larkin@ turn of the century. It has a slant front. Drop down writing surface with 2 shelves located underneath. The measurements are 43" high by 12" deep by 30" wide. It has lots of charm and appeal. It is sturdy and well built, but has been refinished some time and customized with removal of what we believe was some shelving and a possible mirror above current top. It looks nice but it is not near perfect…having some scratches and nicks etc from age and there is patch with filler on top left edge and stained to match from the customization… But I still consider it to be a nice pierce of furniture from the early 1900s.

The old finish with some newer revarnishing preserves lots of antique character. Dings, wear and shrinkage separations from age. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Wrought iron side handles are original. Brass hardware is old but not original. Antique 19th Century original Larkin Oak Secretary desk made by Larkin in New York; c 1920's. All wood with a drop lid and cubby-hole interior compartments. Bevelled mirrored back, which is 13 inches wide x 6 3/4" high. Lamp candle stands, the drop down lid measures 28 1/2" wide x 25" deep with plenty of space for a Laptop computer. This desk measures a total height of 62" height x 30" wide x 12" deep. The bottom portion offers book shelf, display space with its two bottom shelves. Antique Larkin-style solid Oak Secretary Desk - c.1901, possibly Chautauqua?
Antique Larkin-style solid Oak Secretary Desk- c.1901? This listing is for a'Larkin-style' or maybe actual Larkin/ Chautauqua. Secretary Desk- the desk is solid Oak, with a fold out desk/ secretary. During the late 1800's and early 1900's. The Larkin Soap Company was making and offering various items free with large orders, one of these items being the'Chautauqua Desk' Refer last picture- these desks look very similar to this item. The desk is a golden oak color. With three(3) shelves and stands 53" tall x 30" wide and 12" deep, this becomes 26 1/4" deep with the desk open) There is no key for the lock. The desk weighs approximately 40- 50 lbs and is quite sturdy, i.e. well held together, not rickety at all. There are a few marks on the item and some spots have wood putty or filler to cover holes ... moreor repairs. Please refer to the later pictures. The desk is in very good to excellent condition- please refer to the pictures for the best guide to the description and condition.
