It has 3 hidden compartments and lots of pigeon holes and small drawers. It comes with the keys for the upper hutch. The fold down desk and the small door inside but not the drawers below. It has the original glass, which is wavy and has bubbles in it, in both panels on the left side but not on the right side. One pane is missing on the right side but would be easy enough to replace. Lots of character on this gorgeous old piece. It measures 81 inches high, 47 inches wide and is 23-1/2 inches deep at the bottom. It comes apart in two pieces so the bottom part is 41-1/2 inches high, 47 wide and 23-1/2 deep and the top part is 39-1/2 inches high, 47 inches wide and 12 inches deep. The drawer fronts have book-matched crotch mahogany veneers and cockbeading. The fitted interior(sorry for the dust) has burl walnut veneers, ebonized pulls and boxwood stringing. The interior cupboard door opens to reveal a drawer with a secret drawer behind. See photo) The desk measures 44" high by 39 1/2" wide by 20" deep. In overall very good condition. There is some minor loss to the veneer on the feet which we will restore for you. The desk lid is cupped which makes the desk impossible to lock properly though we do have a key. I don't think we want to try to address this particular issue but please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. There is also some cracking of the veneer on the lid but it is all stable, nothing loose. The desk has great color and patination and is guaranteed to be as described. I am unsure of the exact age of the desk. It is most likely a 1970's reproduction of an 18th Century Georgian Design. It has beautifully carved ball and claw feet, and chunky cabiole legs that are also carved at the knees. This desk has five (5) substantial drawers with the original brass bail pull handles, and five (5) faux drawer fronts on the back side also with brass bail pull handles. The drawers have dove tail joints. The desk was in front of a window for years, and therefore the finish on the back side is a bit faded.

Contact for further details. 67W 41D 30.5H This magnificent traditional desk is finished on all sides so can be placed in the middle of the room or anywhere to display this showpiece. It has just the right amount of molding so as to have a vintage yet modern stately look. The desk has an extra large executive size surface with a total of eight drawers with movable wood dividers for each drawer. All of the drawers feature old fashioned craftsmanship with finely crafted dovetail joints that interlock to form a flat edge at the corners and sides thus eliminating the need for nails or screws. The right hand side is a double drawer deep enough for hanging files. Not sure if this is original to the piece but it appears that at some point. A metal attachment ... morewith a sliding rail for organizing manila folders was added to the bottom of the drawer. This can be easily removed if you prefer to use a metal cage for the file drawer instead. The desk has all original hardware and two pull-out shelves on either side of the desk. All drawers slide out effortlessly and lack the modern steel hardware on the outside of the drawers as sometimes used in more modern furniture. Giving it a feel of yesteryear. A Drexel stamp of authenticity is on the bottom side of the desk. This piece is pre-owned and being sold as is. And as might be expected due to its age and use, has scratches, blemishes, knicks, gashes or scruff marks and is being sold as is. This item will benefit from an overall polishing, touch up in some spots and replacement of thin molding where worn or missing. It is a splendid and majestic piece whose beauty can be further enhanced or used as is. Please note that these types of highly crafted desks.
