They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. There is one small dimple- looks like a pen tip was forced into the mater
