Rare Antique Oak Very Old Barley Twist Shaving Mirror English?
A great antique barley twist solid oak shaving mirror. Victorian most likely and possibly English. Came out of an antique shop upstate NY almost twenty years ago. Just never had the right place for it so I must sell. This is a real classic and though you will see variations. It is doubtful that you will come across the same piece. They are getting harder and harder to find and some are trying to sell similar examples for a few hundred on ebay. Oak appears to be in very good condition. Beautiful Antique Barbola Mirror. Has some small dots of silvering missing at the bottom. Also has a few tiny"whitest" spots on the mirror. But none of this takes away from it's beauty. I'm mentioning everything, but remember this is a vintage item and as such may display signs of use and wear. Looking at the mirror, on the left side, there is a small area where the silver is missing. All flowers appear to be in excellent condition, except one pedal is missing on the white flower, looking at the mirror, to the left. see photo#3) There are a few normal stress cracks on the top between a few of the flowers. Stands on pedestal and has 2 small bunt feet. Measures approx. 12" high and approx. 10 3/4" widest point of flowers. Mirror is double beveled with approx. a 10" diameter. English Antique Extremely Fine Needlepoint Hand Mirror with Beveled Glass
I purchased this beautiful extremely fine needlepoint hand mirror while living in London. England in 1996 at a fine antique store. I was told it was rare and a very good example of its type of the period. I cannot find the receipt with the date of origin. It has had a plastic cover over it. And it removed it to photograph it. It is in very good condition, and there is only some slight discoloration(that might be able to be removed depending on the cleaner you use, I was afraid to attempt it) on the face of the fabric, where the plastic did not cover the entire fabric. Also on the front of the glass mirror there is a very small mark on the mirror. Shipping rate quoted is within the US.

In pretty nice shape as the pics show with some scratches/ wear to the mirror surface and the wood has had some repairs as well as some imperfections which is to be expected with a piece that is over 200 years old and it comes exactly as shown. I have the original receipt when they purchased the piece in the 1980's and I will include that with the piece. Charming Antique English Oval Brass Over Wood Mirror - Approx. 1820's
An absolutely charming brass over wood mirror with simple lines and decoration. Perfect for an entry. Hall, library, bedroom or bath. A wonderful relic of'modern life' from the first half of the 19th century. It was purchased in London over 10 years ago and has been much enjoyed for its simplicity of design and obvious age. The interior surface of the'pressed' brass frame is beaded. Bordered by a convex band and finished with an overlapping'paisley' shape design. The mirror is held in place between the brass frame. A hardwood'under-frame' and a thin, flat wood back panel. The wood under-frame is joined by a'loose tenon' at 12 and 6 o'clock. There are points of separation in the wood frame; the top tenon is broken, causing a split in the wood and there is another split at 3 o'clock. The back ... morepanel is also split. Between the mirror(which appears old. Was shaped to fit the frame and has jagged edges) there are three new thin sheets of wood to stabilize the mirror. The back panel is held in place by several old and newer nails. There are some unimportant scrapes and nicks on the back. There is a'hole' in the bottom at 6 o'clock, possibly for mounting? Due to its age all of the pieces fit together loosely. Nothing is snug or tight. This doesn't affect its appearance when hung, but does mean it should be handled somewhat gingerly. Two metal eyelets and a piece of string are used to hang the mirror. Could be restored. But why? Approximate measurements: 12 3/8" H and 10 7/16" W.

Genuine Antique English Mirror in Excellent Condition
I have a genuine English Antique Mirror that measures 59 1/2 inches tall(almost five feet) and is 38 1/2 inches wide. It has never been repaired nor does it need repair. it is heavy and all the joints are tight. Everything is original. The glass has some age blushing. But there are no cracks or chips, just age related surface features. I would welcome anyone who wants to view it before bidding. Its a very unique, ornate, and beautiful piece.
