VINTAGE ART DECO ORNATE BEVELED VANITY OR TILT SHAVING MIRROR c. 1920's - 30's
Offered is a Vintage Art Deco Era Beveled Vanity or Shaving Mirror. It stands approx. 11 ¾” tall. The round mirror frame is not perfectly circular nor oval shaped. But somewhere in between. It measures approx. 6 ¼” in diameter top to bottom. And 6” in diameter side to side. The mirror is in good vintage condition with no cracks. It appears that there was at one time a backing. Possibly thin wood or cardboard on the back of the mirror. The mirror moves around within the frame, but is still firmly intact. The origin of the wooden dowel on back is unknown. It may or may not have been original and underneath the backing. Overall. The condition is consistent with that of 75 to 80+ year old antique wares. This mirror is circa 1920's to late 1930's. Very nice old Art Deco tri-fold vanity mirror. The mirror has a gold label on the front that says Hamilton. When laid flat it measures 24 1/2 inches across and 17 1/2 inches tall. Each side piece measures 6 in wide and 15 1/2 inches tall. The the backing is wood and has a stamp on the back. All I can read is Chicago Illinois. Antique Brass Nautical / Art Deco Style Dresser Vanity Glass Beveled Mirror
Up for auction is a very unique find. This came from an old estate sale in Central PA. This brass dresser/ vanity mirror measures 16 ½ tall by 15” wide. It’s made of brass and has a beveled mirror with webbed feet. As for the style I’m not totally sure where it falls because of the different elements I see in the mirror. It has no dents or chips and has a great patina. The only information I could find on the mirror is the number“2” on the feet and the number“06” on the top of the stand. Original Art Deco Vanity Dresser Mirror Frame circa 1920s Frame is of a walnut finish wood with carved finial and has an applied carved decoration. a Sunflower surrounded by fanciful tiny flowers and leaves accented in Dark Green. Deep Brown and Gold. There is an old brass screw fitting on each side for fitting to a dresser stand. I imagine. A lovely almost 100 years old Art Deco period piece. Condition: The frame is structurally sound… it has shallow scrapes. Scratches and old wall paint marks, signs of usage over the years. There is a small chip out of the finial decorative work( about 1” or ½“ each) and that applied section is a bit loose, could easily be repaired with wood glue. There is an old string used for hanging which should be replaced by a hanger wire. Please check pictures to see the flaws. A large frame. This tri-fold mirror is in good shape. The mirrors appear to be a painted backing of some sort. We did not attempt to remove them. It does have tiny yellow age spots throughout all the mirrors. Some small dings and a few scuffs on the frame edging. It has a 2 welding spots where it has been repaired at some point. It does need cleaned. The poles are etched with a barber style or candycane effect. You are getting it as it was purchased from and antique estate auction. Its style is a classic and will fit with any decor. We purchased this stunning piece many years ago at an estate auction in Chicago for use as a photo prop on an old vanity. Which looked beautiful with old Deco perfume bottles. There is a handwritten note on the backside of the mirror that reads"Seville, Spain June 23, 1981 American Express Tour, Guide Mark Fonseca" this is written on a cardboard backing which can be removed or turned over) If that owner purchased it new. It is at least several decades old but it's possible it was pre-owned and is older. We're not sure about the metal content- it has the appearance of pewter. Up for bids is this beautiful Art Deco Vintage Murano/ Venini twisted rope design vanity mirror. Measures 10 1/2" X 12 1/2" with the mirror only measures 9" X 7 1/4" The mirror is framed with four brass mounts and a brass frame. This is a stand up mirror as shown and the backing which is velvet or a felt is somewhat faded but no tears or rips. The condition of the mirror is in fantastic shape. No chips or any damages to the glass or any part of mirror. The backing looks like it would slide out and a picture would take the place of the mirror. A really nice vintage Deco period collectable. Large 18" by 10" Vintage Italian Art Glass Mirror Tray Offered with No Reserve is a large Carlo Scarpa style mirror tray with 3 bars in a twisted glass rope border. The glass rods are 1/2" wide and the corners have a nice old bronze/ brass color finish hardware with natural patina and wear from age. The three tiered triple row style is hard to find and can be expensive when you do. This tray measures 18" by 10" across the frame with 15" by 7 1/2" flat surface and could be used on a coffee table. Art Deco Chrome Vanity Table Mirror Machine Age Streamline Rohde Weber Era
Up for bid is this fantastic art deco machine age vanity or table mirror. This was a bit of a challenge to photograph due to the shiny chrome and glass. I took several photos but if you have any questions please ask. Very cool design. Maker or country of origin unknown. The mirror glass measures 12" in diameter and the base is 6.5" and total height is about 17" Has an adjustable screw to set the angle up or back. Very well made in good vintage condition. The mirror has some silver loss along the edges and the chrome base has light pitting and wear but is still very presentable. Probably made in this 1930's so it does show age and use wear. Could be re-chromed to perfection and would great with a cobalt blue mirror. No reserve! Good luck!
