The plate has a part of two impressed eagle marks. Both marks are worn and hard to read, but one can clearly recognize the "W", above the stars and eagle. There is also a "D" that can still be read below the eagle mark to the left. This would mean there is the name "WILLIAM", above the eagle and "DANFORTH", below the eagle. The second mark appearsto have a part of the name "DANFORTH" below the eagle. These marks are listed in "A Guide To American Pewter" by Carl Jacobs, mark number 122, page 81-82; where an 8" plate with this mark was valued at $65 back in 1957.

Has three Wooden Panels with some type of Leather or oil cloth backing to each of the Beveled Mirror Panels,the Leather panel that shows on the outside when folded close has a picture embossed into it of a Native American Indian on a Pony or Horse and holding an Arrow like he is hunting or going into Battle. This ca. 1825-1845 solid mahogany tabernacle mirror features antique gilt accents. Ring turned half columns, and numerous acorn pendant finials. It measures 38 ¾” x 17 ¼” overall; 8 ¾” x 12 7/8” upper pane; 21 ¾” x 13” mirror. The varnished surface is absolutely original; some of the gilding has been over painted in the past. The mirror pane has very bad silver in the bottom quadrant and is missing a base block/plinth. The turned half column base has come off but is present. It retains the original chamfered thin pine back and double brass knob hanging array. Antique American Fort Dearborn Chicago pewter picture frame
For auction is a very ornate pressed pewter picture frame with original? bevel glass cover. I have attempted to photograph the detail in this frame so the pictures for the better part of my description. Stamped in the lower part of the frame(and photographed) is"CHICAGO ILL. U.S.A 1830 FORT DEARBORN 1893" I cannot find a makers name. This frame being a soft metal now more than a century old does have some imperfections. It likely has a glossy EPNS or silver pained finish which now only remains in the deeper part of the ornamentation. The most raised part of the ornamentation has possibly lost some detail through dusting and polishing and the flat back(behind where a picture would sit) has been pushed in by the supporting arm. This ca. 1845-1860 walnut on pine veneer frame is topped by deeply carved solid walnut crest and measures 38 ½” x 21 3/8” with 28 ¼” x 16 ½” reveal. It is constructed of 1 ½” thick wood and the entire frame appears to retain its original finish under a later coat of varnish. There are mounting holes on the side of the frame and you will note minor shrinkage cracks in the stable veneer which has no obvious loss. This is a very old gorgeous ogee flame mahogany mirror from the 1800s in very good condition with some wood chips to veneer and cracks as seen in pictures which is typical for age. The mirror weighs 16.6 pounds approximately and measures 46.5" x 28.5" The mirror contained it's original glass which can be a marker of its age. Antique Wall Mirror with Little Boy Blue Lithograph Print in Decorative Hand-Carved Wood Frame circa late 1800s-early 1900s This beautiful piece was found beneath an old house in Atlanta a historic section of Atlanta. The house was built in the mid 1800s. There is no date on the piece. But based on the style of the lithograph and the style of the frame(design + hardware + construction) I am guessing the it to be from the late 1800s, no later than the early 1900s. I am not an expert! If you have questions or would like a particular part of the mirror photographed in greater detail please do not hesitate to ask. Mirror measures 27" tall. 7" wide and 1" deep.

This 1800's Antique American-made Mirror degigned by P. Wiederer is attached to wood back& has metal plack on back marked“P. WIEDERER PAT… the patent numbers have worn off with age. Mirror is made of thick old glass with beautiful scalloped edges. It shows the expected wear appropriate for age and use. Wood in very good condition. Two ornamental corner flowers are missing. Dimensions are 6 7/8" x 4 5/8" PETER WIEDERER. A German Immigrant who lived in NY, invented& received several patents for new and useful improvements in ornamental mirrors in the 1880’s. One of his mirrors can be found in the Brooklyn Museum. His patents and mirrors can be searched for online.

This mirror has what appears to be a slate back. The paper/cardboard backing was torn away by the estate sale organizer. I am leaving it as it is. Decorative carved wood with ornate gesso and gold gild finish. Overall in very good condition. There are minor nicks and scratches. See the last photo which shows a chipped off piece of gesso. The mirror has no scratches that I can see and gives a good. True reflection. The frame would benefit from cleaning to make the gilding shine. Fine American Federal Giltwood and Eglomise Panel Antique Mirror, Mass. c. 1810
AMERICAN FEDERAL GILTWOOD EGLOMISE ANTIQUE PIER MIRROR Probably Massachusetts c. 1810 Item# 502GXQ22 A fine work that almost certainly was produced along the North Shore of Massachusetts. The form is elegant and perfectly conforming with the distinctly neoclassical tastes of America during the first years of the 19th century. This form of pier mirror was crafted extensively in both New York City and Massachusetts during this period, primarily Boston and Salem. The crest projects boldly over the mirror with a series of round droplets affixed on wire through the top of the mirror. Above the triple reeded corinthian columns flanking the mirror are wonderful carved acanthus, draping along the curved molding that flanks a carved and gilded panel of a single rose with outflowing foliage. The present example closely relates to a pair of mirrors ... moreheld in the Mabel Brady Garvan Collection(Barquist, f. 182) the acanthus carvings on this mirror clearly being more bold and executed with greater confidence. A reverse painted tablet featuring a Greco-Roman classical scene rests above the old glass of the mirror. We have not removed the backboards to more closely examine the glass. As the backboards appear to be undisturbed; however, it does appear to be a period glass and correct for the piece. The square blocks of the lower corners and rectangular blocks of the upper corners are divided diagonally with panels of light and dark gilding. This very fine acquisition remains preserved in excellent condition- it will be a wonderful addition to any collection of Federal taste.
