Vintage Vanity Set This is how I found this lovely set displayed on a dressing table at an estate sale. The framed mirror with children pictured is near perfect. The mirror tray with the Victorian Lady has some wear and a little loss to the silvering on the mirror. There is light discoloration, the picture of the lady is very good. Dispite age and wear this is nice. I think the aging it gives it character. I am guessing this to be from the 1930's or 40's? The tools are metal with minor wear to the goldtone. The tools are a shoe horn, tweezers,file and nail cleaner. The comb is plastic with goldtone metal trim. No missing teeth. This lovely vintage mirror by E A Riba Co. is in very good condition with a few small discolored spots on mirror. It has lovely gold gilting. A beautiful ornate top hanging hook, and wonderful art deco detailing all around its face. The mirror could be removed to use as a picture frame if wanted, but it is just gorgeous as a mirror. Antique Heavy Cast Iron Framed Mirror [or use it for a picture]
Antique cast iron framed mirror Grape leaf& grape cluster design shows good detailing. Dates from the early part of the 20th Century. Measures 18" x 13" w. 10" x 11 1/2" is the measurement across the back where the mirror gets inserted. Its heavy and will likely be over 7 l bs. when packed Of couurse you could use this as a picture frame if so desired. It is fitted with a heavy duity hanger on the back which appears original. Also. there are 4 small"feet" on each opposing point on the back and I ould expect that thes allow the frame to be place"flat" against a wall with no pitch. Not huge one a little less than 1" in area and the other much less than that. There re 2 small dots of silver loss to the mirror. Mirror is 15 1/2" x 8" Victorian picture at the top is 7 1/2" x 6" It can move under the glass. The picture is a woman in a long dress carrying a large basket of flowers walking up to a house in the country. The picture looks green and white rather than black and white and blends in well with the green wood. I see no damage to the picture. There's a 1" white circular spot on the edge of the mirror that looks like a dollop of paint. But I can't be sure. The mirror is not fogged. The back of the piece is covered in brown paper and has hanging hardware. The green wood frame is carved. It is brown on the edges. A very unique piece.
