T he moment I saw this mirror hidden amongst dusty piles of long forgotten memories. I knew I had found a treasure. I did not even bother cleaning it except for wiping it down gently with a soft cotton cloth because the natural patina and dust added something magical to its charm. The colors are still incredibly vibrant and truly unique. As you can see from the pictures there is a lot of aging in the mirror but I find this quality makes it that much more beautiful. This auction is for an antique mirror. It is oval in shape and measures approx. 25 by 31 inches. It has a gold liner and the frame has been painted black. There is some nice detail on the frame. I am uncertain of the age but can tell it is much older. Also quite heavy. There is some minor wear to the frame as can be scene in the photos. Thanks for looking. The mirror is perfect rectangle. I had to take the pictures angled due to the reflection. This is a nice sturdy heavy mirror. I would recommend a wall anchor when mounting on a wall.

Not sure if it can be classified as Art Deco or not. the Frame measures 36 1/2 inches by 25 inches on the outside. the inside measurements(the opening for the mirror or picture) in 24 3/4 by 19 1/2 at the widest points. there is a wood back board for this frame but it is not original to the piece. there is a crack from natural ageing near the top on the right side( the last picture) but it does not go all of the way through the frame. searched ebay and could not find anything similar. the frame has a light finish of some kind. there is no paint or gilt. This painting was purchased at the Chicago World's Fair in 1892 and the rights were sold to White Rock Beverages. Psyche the fairy topless girl became one of the top ten recognizable advertising characters in the country in the early part of the 1900's.
