This elegant style has been reproduced by the repro artists due to its exceptional traditional flair.but this one is old. First of all the color. The picture of the whole mirror came up more vanilla. Due to the flash. This was a tough one to photo. The true color of the background is a more neutral, old aged soft antique white. The front pictures of the mirror showing the gilt carving, are the true colors. The mirror came fresh from an estate in Manhatten and is even a bit dusty.right off the wall on the east side. The mirror is 59 3/8 inches high. And 38 1/2 inches wide and the depth is approximately 2 1/2 inches thick. The frame is good and solid, the mirror ... moredoes not wobble and is structurally sound. The oil painting is lovely and it could use a good cleaning and it would sparkle, however; I leave just as is for the purists, and leave it up to them. To each their own. The gilt on the carved filagree and scrolls are in excellent condition, intact, with no repairs. Like I say.from an estate and was kept for many years. The age of the mirror is somewhere between 1820 and 1860. This of course, is my best guess upon examing the mirror and knowing where it came from. If you are an antique lover of French, you will come up with the same conclusion, just by seeing the back pictures. Infact, they come up lighter than they are, due to the bright sunlight in my room. Check out this offering of a gorgeous and ornate late 1800's gilt cast iron framed mirror! The intricate design involves a scrolled leaf motif with a small bouquet a the top(accented with pink) with additional pink accent at the bottom center. This mirror has a hinged easel back for display on a dresser or vanity but could also be hung quite easily if desired. The original beveled mirror is intact with no cracks but there is a small chip in the upper right and there are spots on the silver backing that are missing. The original paperboard back is still in place. While the mirror itself is not perfect. It produces a good image overall. This early 19th century mirror measures 15" high x 13" wide and is made with two separate mahogany veneered frames. The inside frame having a nice beveled surface. The two frames are held together using square nails and the hanger on top is made of brass. Condition: a couple small nicks to veneer. The largest being 1/4" and located at top right corner; some bruises and small cracks on wooden frame but nothing distracting from its overall look; the brass hanger is original though it was moved at one time because it loosened up; mirror was replaced and shows some cloudiness. This auction is for an antique shaving mirror with comb& brush holder. It is classic Victorian style with great leaves and fruit pattern on the frame. The mirror might have been replaced at one time. But the rest appears old original. It measures 22 inches high and about 19 inches wide. It is in good and sturdy antique condition. The velvet is worn in spots as expected with a piece this age. Inside the comb holder, the fabric is faded. Awesome estate fine.this beautiful wood and gesso mirror from the 1800's is in great condition considering it's over 125 yrs old! There are a few places where the gesso is missing as shown in photo. This could be easily repaired. It measures approximately 12 inches wide by approximately 23 inches tall. The mirror glass it's self is in great condition with minor signs of silvering. This item will be professionally packed to ensure that arrives intact.

Antique 1800's Tri-fold Weiderer Beveled Glass Shaving Vanity Mirror
Wonderful old mirror from a local estate sale. It has the original beveled glass mirrors. The panels measure about 11 3/8" x 9 3/8" The back panels have a floral motif and look to be made of a pressed material. Perhaps gutta percha. Looks like there were two small turned feet removed from the middle panel. The hanging chain and eye screws have been removed. The embossed panels have a green tint to them that is more pronounced in my photos than in real life. There is a small worn spot to the center mirror as shown. Beautiful mirror. Thanks for looking.

Antique French Bamboo Wooden Bevelled Mirror 1800's VINCENT VAN GOGH Bedroom
Antique French Bamboo Wooden Mirror 1800's This old mirror might have seen the face of Vincent Van Gogh as it came from his village of Arles in Provence. It is not silvered but rather coated in Mercury as they were known to do back in the day. It is worn and has lost some of it's coating leaving cloudy spots. It is however authentique and old so we can forgive the"rides" or wrinkles of age n'est-ce pas? It was made to resemble bamboo with the wood having been turned and pieced together with knob and mortise fixings at the corners. There are finials of wooden spools that accent the tips and there is an old original rusted chain that was designed to hold it on a nail longways. The backing is original sheet of cardboard. There are small worm holes in the trim around this cardboard but not in the wood designed to look like ... morebamboo that frames the mirror. It measures 14" by 12" wide by the outer frame and the mirror itself within measures 9" by 6" wide. If beauty can be measured by the visions she held in the past. she is radiantly beautiful to behold today. This is a stunning antique 19th century Victorian solid cast iron table pivoting mirror. it is a large mirror that is extremely ornate. Made from thick heavy cast iron, and has a lovely gold gilded finish. the mirror is in an oval format and pivots 180 degrees on two ribbed iron arms in the back connected to the base. the mirror has a detailed engraved trim. The frame is extremely detailed with floral and scroll detailing done in high relief. the base is nicely footed and is equally as ornate as the rest of the piece if not more. it has a beautiful cut out design and tapers from thin to wider. it is in great shape with a nice patina from age measuring 17 3/8 inches tall by 10 3/4 inches wide. Old Framed Mirror from the 1800's with loads of character. You can see the age in the mirror itself! Great display piece or take out the old mirror and use as a frame for photos or artwork. Antique Arts 1800's Tri Fold Vanity Makeup Mirror Shaving Vintage Victorian Nice
Here is a beautiful antique tri-fold mirror with heavy beveled glass. French style Ormolu decorations of raised applied corners. Beaded and rope design on front and back of frame. The hinges are excellent and it closes with no problems, the glass is very nice for its age with just a little light spotting, the metal gold tone frame has discolorations from age, there are two small dents in the frame, one on the right panel top, the other on the bottom of the middle panel, very small but I think you can see it in one of the photos. There is one Ormolu corner missing. The chain is discolored and one of the mirror brackets to hold the chain is slightly bent. I'm not positive but i think the backs of the panels are leather, two are textured and one is smoother, maybe just the two outside ones are leather and the middle not, I just don't ... moreknow for sure. The mirror measures 22 1/4" by 10 1/4" laying flat, folded up it is approx. 10 1/4" by 7 1/4" It weighs 4.6 lbs. From what I could find out it is from the late 1800's. This was a fantastic estate find According to daughter who said it had been passed down through her family many generations looks like silver but I don't no if it is or if it's plated. It is need of restoring It is a beautiful piece of history but needs to be repaired in order to use I believe the glass from outside would have interchanged with one of the sides when opened up I think there would be 3 mirrors inside and one on outer cover or the 1 from front would attatch to the right side once opened. Solid base has veneer finish. As does the trim/edges of mirror portion. Wood veneer is mahogany with a good flame/crotch pattern on the base. Side arms are solid barley twist style with finials on top. And hand carved o-rings on the bottom side for adjusting arms. Each arm has a metal joint and socket securing the mirror and to allow for tilting. Four solid bun style feet. Some type of writing in white chalk. Can't make out.signature? This is big. This is a stunning very high quality antique hand carved wood 19th century Victorian wall mount mirror. it is a mirror once displayed in a church setting. This 1800's Antique American-made Mirror degigned by P. Wiederer is attached to wood back& has metal plack on back marked“P. WIEDERER PAT… the patent numbers have worn off with age. Mirror is made of thick old glass with beautiful scalloped edges. It shows the expected wear appropriate for age and use. Wood in very good condition. Two ornamental corner flowers are missing. Dimensions are 6 7/8" x 4 5/8" PETER WIEDERER. A German Immigrant who lived in NY, invented& received several patents for new and useful improvements in ornamental mirrors in the 1880’s. One of his mirrors can be found in the Brooklyn Museum. His patents and mirrors can be searched for online.

ANTIQUE MEDITERRANEAN GESSO GILDED ORNATE WOOD 19 CENTURY 13O YEAR OLD MIRROR Up for your consideration is this really nice antique Mediterranean style gesso gilded ornate wood frame 19th century 130 year old mirror. FEATURES:Made out of wood with a gesso(plaster) Mediterranean leafing style design on the top"handle" and the very bottom part of this 130 year old mirror. The handle looks like the leaves are coming together to form a wreath. And the shape is an almost kidney shape where the middle curves in. Along the rest of the frame it is somewhat contoured with several fine lines, or ridges. The back has the original cardboard liner, but the vast majority of the paper backing/cover is gone. The only thing that remains is along the outer edges. There are several different types of nails that hold this mirror into the frame, some ... morelook like they come from at least 3 different time periods. There are signs on this that just can't be"faked" or duplicated without the passage of many many decades of time and looks very aged. There is an eyelet screw on each side of the mirror with 4 thin braided cords attached for hanging. By looking at this, it looks like the handle was hand-carved out of wood, as it looks very primitive with no uniformity, even the two back support wedges that hold the handle onto the mirror are very different in size. ADD. INFO: Based on the way this mirror was made. You can pretty much be sure- there were not a lot of these made. Antique Tri Fold Vanity/Shaving Mirror Hinged w/Tooled Leather c.1800's
This mirror is such a great find. Although I guess the age to be 100+ years old, it is still in great condition. It has three panels of beveled glass with the exception of some ghosting and minor silver loss each panel is in good condition. The wood has held up exceptionally well with very minor ware and chipping. The tooled leather backing has some damage as shown in the photos but also impressive for its age. It has three ball feet and original hanging chain. The dimensions are 8" x 6" and when fully extended it measures 19-1/2" I try to point out all flaws if any.
