It measures 38" wide at its widest point and is 24" high. The mirror itself measures 14" x 9.5" and the shelf is 5" deep. The mirror has been replaced and the patinaed brass coat hooks may or may not be original to the piece. The Eastlake Victorian frame appears to be in excellent vintage condition. And made from very heavy solid brass. on the top is a large lion head which has very beautiful detail and in his mouth holds 3 dimensional scrollwork which leads down to the circle mirror. the mirror actually sits off of the wall and hangs from the lions mouth. Very exquisite obscure design. the mirror is in great shape. It was replaced at some point, and as well as the cardboard backing in the back, looks great. the piece has a wonderful patina from age. Placement on a high dresser or hanging from the wall. 8" diameter round bevel-edge mirrors are housed in gilded brass frames. Each section has a single foot at the bottom and the three sections are linked by a double hinge on each side of the center mirror section. The back of each mirror section is covered in an attractive black paper that has a tiny repeating textured design of a torch and acanthus wreath. There are two loops at the top of the center section where a chain used to hang for wall mounting and the mirror is held shut by a little hook. There is some crazing and slight loss to the surface of the mirrors and much of the gilt finish on the brass is worn. ANTIQUE HAND MIRROR VICTORIAN ORNATE BRASS SILVERPLATE
From the Victorian Era is this mini"Hand Mirror" It has a very detailed. Raised carved back stem, mounted on bronze. The stem appears to be silverplate, but I am not an expert on this and just relaying my opinion on what it looks to be. The front of the mirror has a gold painted pattern all the way around it. It was hard for me to get a proper photo of the painted edges so I hop you can see it a little but it is really detailed. It measures 4.5" long by 2.5" wide on the circular part of the mirror. French i think. anyway this floor mirror or" cheval" is rare, unusual, ornate, you just HAVE to look at the pictures. all brass, dragon like bird feet. end cap knobs the size of baseballs. tell me any room this would NOT decorate. any bedroom or right by the fireplace. even the kitchen. oh well, i ramble a bit. it is in my nature. ok. Finely crafted, the glass mirror of oval shape with beveled edge, the panel mounted within an elaborate pierced and engraved frame with wide border, the top right edge with flying bird, perhaps a sparrow, it's beak extending over the mirror, the sides and lower edge with pierced support in the form of a spray of garden flowers, leaves and stalks of wheat. Call Bob 860-796-3650 FROM A LOCAL ESTATE ANTIQUE circa 1800's MATCHING OVAL 3 PART MIRRORS These mirrors undoubtable started life used on a dressing table but could easily be used anywhere- table top as a very special decoration The frames have a turned foot at their base or this mirror could be hung off its original chain thats still in place located at the top of the center mirror… Also see orignal clasp used to secure frames when at rest. Which is how I found them stored away) The frames are brass(Tested with a Magnet) however as one can see they have an old early white paint on them that is worn. Antique Tri-Fold Shaving Mirror Beveled Brass Hinges Chain Early Victorian Era Description: Antique Tri-Fold Shaving Mirror Beveled Brass Hinges Chain Early Victorian Era ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Offered is a wonderful antique tri-fold mirror. It is lovely. The mirrors are beveled and surrounded by very nice brass trim. The brass is ribbed and has wonderful end caps with a intricate design. There is a beading detail along the edges. Very nicely done. The back sides of the mirrors are covered with a pressed leatherette board. The side boards have a pebbled finish and the back side is plain. The back side is what receives the most wear from use and you can see that in the photos. When folded the mirror measures about 10 3/8 inches top to bottom and about 7 7/8 inches across. The thickness of the folded mirror is about 2 1/2 inches. When ... moreexpanded. Or unfolded, the mirror measures 22 1/2 inches side to side. There is a nice chain on the top if you want to hang the mirror. The chain extends from the top edge of the mirror about 4 inches. There is a ring at the top of the chain for hanging purposes. The mirror panels fold one way. So when you go to fold it you will easily find which way is correct. It is in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks and no repairs. The hinges work nicely. There is wear to the board on the back side. Or bottom, of the mirror as already mentioned. The 2 other boards are in very nice condition with minor wear. The mirrors have some wear and there is discoloration, or darkness, along the edges or corners. However, overall, the mirrors considering their age are quite nice. The more ornate detailing of the brass has some residual polish from prior cleanings. Pl ease refer to the photos which can be enlarged to see all the details and determine the condition. Here's a beautiful tri-folding antique shaving mirror from the Victorian Era. The mirrors are beveled. The front of each mirror is framed in wood, the back side of the mirrors are covered with an ornate celluloid backing. There is a nice chain on the top of the middle mirror for hanging and carrying purposes. There is a ring at the top of the chain for hanging purposes. Each individual mirror measures about 9 1/4" in length and 9 1/4" in width. The thickness of the mirror is about 1/2" When expanded. Or unfolded, the mirror measures 29 1/2" in total length. It has a sunburst colored, celluloid back with gold detailing, and the image of an ante-bellum woman in a broad rimmed hat in the center. The whole frame is covered with an etched design. The frame has 2 stress cracks, one on top, and one on the side) see photos, but the frame is solid and stable. Some damage to the silvering around the perimeter of the mirror, and 2 dark spots on the woman's image, from age. Early mirror in decent overall condition for 150+ years. Fine Antique Victorian 1860's English heavy cast brass Wall Mirror. Measures 9" wide and 15" tall including brass ring fixture for hanging. Photo shows the back which is metal and which can be removed to change material that shows on the front. I purchased this mirror in early 1960's in England and the fabric needed replacing and I used the red velvet you see. The beveled mirror does show slight signs of wear.
