It measures 12" x 7.5" It also has an original hanging ring to the rear if you wish to the utilise it as a hanging wall mirror. For it's size. It is quite heavy ~ weighing 1.5kgs The frame has beautiful Champleve enamel decoration on a French blue ground. And is finished with elaborate ribboned floral decoration to the top and bottom. I think the frame and decoration is made from bronze, possibly originally gilted. The frame and all the embellishments are in very good condition, with no damages. Description This handsome antique cast iron frame stands 10 1/2" tall and is 10 3/4" wide. It has a folding stand on the back which allows it to stand freely. The design of the frame is unique and features a French motif. All around the piece are fleur-de-lis. The top has plumes and a helmet. Offering a magnificent and rare antique wall mirror. I think this style is called tabernacle: it's beautifully molded with old gilded embellishments and gilding throughout. The central piece is actually an oil on canvas and may predate the mirror by a large amount of time. It's a pastoral scene. Mountains, trees, a small manse with a tower and cows in the field. Description of item for sale: This classic gilt framed mirror is from France and it dates to the Second French Empire(Napoleon III) period of 1850-1870. The frame is a wood base with the fine decorations added in gesso and all finished in its original gilding. The frame is in good original antique condition. We can see minor repairs to the gesso. Especially a repair to the top of the crest and there are also small bits of gesso missing here and there and chips in the gilding. All of this is very typical in these old gilt frames. The glass is also hand cut and original but the mirror was re-silvered in 1974(dated on rear) The glass is undamaged and the silvering very good with very light spotting. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE MIRROR! We are pleased to offer this UNIQUE. Older vintage(mid 20th Century) French or Italian wall mirror. The exceptional mirror is MASSIVE and measures 57" tall and 40" wide. It features an extremely ornate and intricately detailed frame. The frame(an Italian Florentine type hard foam synthetic) features large acanthus leaves and drapery accents as the primary background. Large cherubs/angels are found on the upper and lower frame center. Centurions/warriors are featured(back profile with no face detail) on each center side. The North Wind face is on each lower corner and a small"devil face" is located on the bottom center of the frame and is surrounded with an acanthus leaf, heart shaped medallion. Centurion helmets, horns and drums are also found in the details as are corded strands which intertwine ... morewith the acanthus leaves. All of the features are accomplished in a very deep relief so there is an abundance of texture to the frame. The frame is finished with an oversized acanthus leaf topper. This is a beautiful frame, exceptionally detailed. The colors are cream or ivory and a rose/purple which are all"glazed" with a golden color. The mirror and frame are in very good condition. There are some very minor paint chips. But they are very hard to notice and can be easily resolved. There is nothing distracting. The glass is beveled around the edges and is free of chips, cracks or discoloration. The backing is paper(looks like it has been replaced) with two fairly new hanging brackets. It may have started as a frame.I can see remnants of gilt in a couple of tiny places. Somewhere along the way.someone painted it a very pale green and even further down the line.it was whitewashed. The end result.is this fabulous mirror. The white wash has created a extremely pale almost verdigris look behind the creamy white. The mirror glass has been replaced and is free of any silvering. The frame shows just enough age.with minor SURFACE cracks at the joints. They are very stable and only on the surface) It is in very good solid condition and is a wonderful find! The mirror measures 21" across by 25" in length. ANTIQUE TRUMEAU FRENCH MIRROR~1800's~PTD CARVED GILT~ROMANTIC OIL PTG~BIG BEAUTY I am happy to offer a true authentic old French Trumeau mirror with its original finish. NO repro. This elegant style has been reproduced by the repro artists due to its exceptional traditional flair.but this one is old. First of all the color. The picture of the whole mirror came up more vanilla. Due to the flash. This was a tough one to photo. The true color of the background is a more neutral, old aged soft antique white. The front pictures of the mirror showing the gilt carving, are the true colors. The mirror came fresh from an estate in Manhatten and is even a bit dusty.right off the wall on the east side. The mirror is 59 3/8 inches high. And 38 1/2 inches wide and the depth is approximately 2 1/2 inches thick. The frame is good and solid, the mirror ... moredoes not wobble and is structurally sound. The oil painting is lovely and it could use a good cleaning and it would sparkle, however; I leave just as is for the purists, and leave it up to them. To each their own. The gilt on the carved filagree and scrolls are in excellent condition, intact, with no repairs. Like I say.from an estate and was kept for many years. The age of the mirror is somewhere between 1820 and 1860. This of course, is my best guess upon examing the mirror and knowing where it came from. If you are an antique lover of French, you will come up with the same conclusion, just by seeing the back pictures. Infact, they come up lighter than they are, due to the bright sunlight in my room. RARE find! Original 1880's Eastlake 3/4 Pier wall Mirror- FREE SHIP and insurance mid to late 19th century Victorian Eastlake( I don't know exact date) untouched. Finish is original measures approximately 47 x 25 x 3 1/2 inches and weighs 27 pounds The glass is what's referred to as a flat french mirror- not beveled glass is held in by the 45 degree cut small fluted wood framing in front and quarter sawn oak piece in back held by nails( most look original) the nails are not the square head form as a machine porocess had been invented by the 1880's that made round head nails The mirror itself measures about 30 x 18 inches The wood I believe is mahogany.
