Description A FINE ANTIQUE FRENCH CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL& BRONZE OVAL TABLE MIRROR. Dating from the late Nineteenth Century Standing on an easel-back strut. It measures 12" x 7.5" It also has an original hanging ring to the rear if you wish to the utilise it as a hanging wall mirror. For it's size. It is quite heavy ~ weighing 1.5kgs The frame has beautiful Champleve enamel decoration on a French blue ground. And is finished with elaborate ribboned floral decoration to the top and bottom. I think the frame and decoration is made from bronze, possibly originally gilted. The frame and all the embellishments are in very good condition, with no damages. Up for bids is this Antique Late 19th Century Victorian Gilt Bronze Bacchus Beveled Mirror Wall Sconce. The head of Bacchus. The Wine God is portrayed at the top of the Sconce. There are 3 candleholders. The beveled glass mirror is framed with a detailed 1 inch band which is surrounded by 1/3/4 inch bronze fancy open work. This bronze mirror is extremely well designed and made, far superior than the cast iron ones. Please see the photo of the workmanship in of the back in our last 2 photos. Containing 3 long stemmed flowers and leaves. Further down the vase. Two airy delicate scrolls of wirework curve out to the sides of the frame top, each terminates in a full flower. ANTIQUE 19thC FRENCH COTTAGE SHABBY TEAL GOLD GILT WOOD MIRROR FLOWER BASKET 41"
This offering is for a beautiful and OLD. 19th century, large wall or mantel mirror. This gorgeous mirror features a substantial(chunky, if you will) solid wood frame with turned wood attached to the flat, back frame. There are center sections with French or Barley twist carving. Trimmed similarly to an old window or door, the frame has four large corner blocks with floral bouquet/basket appliques. The frame has been gilded(original) and the color is now a beautiful, aged gold or bronzed color. At some point, pale teal has been painted over the gilt and it has been rubbed/distressed. The floral baskets have been painted in a translucent pearl. The mirror is in very good condition for its age. There appears to have been one minor repair to the frame where it meets the mirror. It appears as a piece was cracked and has been glued to secure it(see ... morepicture 10) It is holding quite well with no issues. The back is faced with paper. The old hangers have been removed with a center hanger attached. I think the mirror is too heavy for a single hanger so you may want to add an additional hanger. The mirror is meant to hang horizontally as the corner floral baskets dictate this(otherwise, they will hang side ways) The mirrored glass is in good condition with no chips, cracks or loss of back coating. The mirror is large and measures 41" wide and 21" tall. It extends 2.75" from the wall. The mirror glass is 33.5" x 13.75" The mirror is heavy and weighs approximately 25-30 lbs.
