Not only do I personally collect them. With almost every room of my home having at least"one" hung in it, I can NEVER seem to pass them up when I find them in my travels! This one is not perfect. But DEEEEELICIOUS nonetheless! With bits of desilvering here and there and a small flush" bump" to the underside along one side edge(shown in my photo) this Old Gal is still a BEAUTY to BEHOLD in my opinion! Beautifully ETCHED at her top arch and BEVELED all the ... moreway around! I was told at the Estate Sale where she was purchased, that she had come off the door of an old Medicine Cabinet, thus the reason there is no hanging hardware or backboard attached to her. Prop her for display as I have shown on your mantle, dresser, vanity or shelf, or hang her from the wall mounting her with mirror clips which can be purchased easily and inexpensively from any hardware store. She measures in at 14" wide x 22" tall and hails from the"MID-WEST GLASS CO. of CINCINNATI. OHIO and was manufactured on June 12, 1936! Besides the time worn flaws mentioned above that most can forgive, she has no chips or cracks. Even with the bits of desilvering, her mirrored surface still reflects beautifully and clearly! Vintage Art Deco Etched Cobalt Blue And Glass Wall Mirror
This is a vintage Art Deco etched cobalt blue and glass wall mirror. Let me start by saying it's very difficult to photograph mirrors due to the reflection. So I used a large white piece of cardboard to block the reflections. But it also made all of the dark blue glass look like a lighter blue color. In some of the photos you will see the darker blue color that is common in Art Deco glass. This is the actual color, not the lighter blue. That being said. It measures 30" x 18" 76.2 cm x 45.7 cm) The two blue mirror sections are each 4 inches wide(10.2 cm) and the main glass section is 22 inches wide(55.9 cm) The mirror is 3/4 inches thick(1.9 cm) It dates 1945. It has a wonderful Hollywood Regency feel about it. It has its original clasps to attach the mirrors to a very secure partial wood back. It has its original hanging attachments ... moreon the back also. But as you can see in the photos, they were moved a little for the horizontal hanging. It has some issues. There is aging of the mirror with extensive silvering. Dotting and fogginess to the three mirror pieces. There is a very light 1 inch scratch on the upper right-hand corner clear glass portion of the mirror. The back of the mirror is stamped: WEAVER APR 1945 M. M. A. signifies Mirror Manufacturers Association) Oddly enough. This comes through on the front of the mirror. please see photos) Part of the label giving"mirror care" is on the back. Antique Art Deco-Nouveau-Triple-3-Etched Carved Mantle-Wall Mirror-Central Glass
I apologize for the pictures but it's really hard to stay out of the pics and keep all your junk out as well with a mirror this size.LOL.hopefully you can look past that and see just how beautiful this mirror really is. A great example of the fine workmanship that used to exist in this country. The details are simple breath taking. This is one of those pieces that no matter what room you hang it in. It commands the center of attention when you walk in. It measure 4' long and 15 1/2" high at the highest point and 11" at the mirrors. I bought this at an estate sale and it still had just a little of that old paper backing they used. That stuff becomes so brittle thru the years, especially when these usually get stored somewhere in an attic and the heat just causes it to crumble. I just went ahead and removed the small amount ... morethat was still there, it was going to come off anyway. These are fairly simply to recover. The good part about the back being opened, you get to see that all 3 pieces are original with Central Glass still stamped on them. All 3 mirrors are beveled around all 4 sides. If you see spots or smudges in the pics, it's probably my window cleaning skills, the mirrors are in very good condition. 24 Inch Round Vintage Etched Art Deco Wall Mirror
Measures 24 inches in diamter. A chip to the glass surface on the edge at around 7:00 o'clock which is approximately the size of a half dollar. Two small areas wihich have a few small pinhead sized white colored stains which look like water stains that are underneath the glass. Fancy Antique Art Deco Carved Wood Framed Etched Beveled Wall Mirror 15" x 29"
Here is a vintage or antique hanging wall mirror. This looks like it is from the 1920s or 1930s. It is unmarked but resembles Nurre. It has a mirror with scalloped sides and bottom and an arched top. There are 3 detailed etched flowers with 16 petals on each. The petals are made of lots of etched lines. The leaves and the drops falling from the flowers look like they are raised but are flat to the touch. not sure if this is reversed but it is a gorgeous effect) There are 3 screws that are diamond shaped. The wood frame is ornate with a large flower on the top and 6 smaller ones around the mirror. The rest of the carving is scrolls. The paint is two tone. Gold and silver, but some areas appear pink. There is a hanging wire on the back. I took this off the wall myself and it is heavy and the wire held the mirror steady with just a picture hanger ... moreon the wall. I am not an expert in mirrors so please look at the photos carefully. It measures 15 inches side to side at the bottom and 29 inches tall at the center of the mirror. A beautiful ornate mirror. ANTIQUE ART DECO GLASS MIRROR BRASS BUTTONS ORNATE FLORAL DESIGN WOOD BACK Etched glass mirror glass mirror that is 19 3/4 inches long by 10 1/4 inches. There is a metal overlay on the wood backing on parts of this mirror which is almost silver like him composition however I can't be sure it is or isn't silver. The buttons which hold the mirror and place our affixed to the wood backing and are made of brass. This is an interesting antique piece and for its age is still in relatively good condition.
