It has some light drying of the leather top, but can be oiled to preserve its delicate unique style. It is 26" tall at te top level, 19.75 wide, 30" long, and 15" tall at the lower level. The wood is in beautiful condition, has wire hanger on back and label affixed to bottom that says attributed to John Elliott Phila-Pa. This mirror piece is very well crafted and not cracked. There is one nail head missing from the back. Research into this piece dates it circa 1700’s. Beautiful late 1800s British Victorian mahogany dresser top vanity mirror. Made of mahogany veneers. Solid mahogany and pine secondary woods. The piece has two pull-out drawers and a center storage area with lid. Overall measurement is 25 1/4" wide x 31 1/2" tall x 12 3/4" deep. Finish is in very good condition. Brought back from England in the early 1970s. Weight is 23 lbs. MIRROR: Swivels on two brass hinges which can be opened to remove mirror. Mirror can be accessed by removing wood panel on back. Which is held in place by simple brass turn latches. The thick mirrored glass is in very good condition with just a few very small discolored spots(photo was edited to remove reflected items) Solid carved mahogany posts hold mirror in place and are fastened using a wood nut and bolt(hand-tightened) These can be accessed by removing ... morethe two drawers. Antique Period Early American Mahogany Tabernacle Trumeau Pier Mirror Empire
This ca. 1825-1845 solid mahogany tabernacle mirror features antique gilt accents. Ring turned half columns, and numerous acorn pendant finials. It measures 38 ¾” x 17 ¼” overall; 8 ¾” x 12 7/8” upper pane; 21 ¾” x 13” mirror. The varnished surface is absolutely original; some of the gilding has been over painted in the past. The mirror pane has very bad silver in the bottom quadrant and is missing a base block/plinth. The turned half column base has come off but is present. It retains the original chamfered thin pine back and double brass knob hanging array. Its upper pane houses an original 1860/70s original Currier and Ives hand colored lithograph, A View On The Hudson” that replaces the earlier reverse painting. For your consideration is this Antique Mahogany Ogee Highly Grained 24" x 35" Wall Mantel Mirror Description: This is an antique mahogany ogee mirror that measures approximately 24" long. 35" wide, and 2" deep. The mirror itself measures approximately 14 1/2" long and 26 1/4" wide. The frame is made out of mahogany with a deep shapely curve, gorgeous grain, and clean mirror. This mirror has a wood panel back and updated, strong hanging wire. This antique mirror is masculine enough for a den, but beautiful enough to be displayed anywhere in your home. Condition: This mirror is very strong and sturdy as it is held together by square nails. The wood on the bottom border of the frame has knicks in it. As well as the edges of the frame. This is a heavy mirror, so the hanging wire appears to have been replaced ... moreby the previous owner so that it hangs securely on the wall. The wood panels on the back of the frame have been repaired in the past and you can see where it was glued in some areas, but one piece of one wood panel is split and separated from the frame(see photo below. Also, if you look closely, you can see glue below the wood directly around the mirror; this may have been from when it was made though. The mirror is not beveled and the silvering is intact. This Antique shelf mirror measures 12 inches tall the smaller shelf is 3 inches deep the bottom shelf is 5 inches deep. What I found when searching this is that it is from the 30's the wood most likely is mahogany the mirror is old so it is not real clear like mirrors today. We offer a very beautiful Antique Empire Dressing Mirror. This piece has been in our collection for many years. The feet have the brass capped claw foot on them and everyone is present and secure. The side pieces that screw the mirror on the base have wooden centers with brass backs. They are very special. The finials are perfect as well and give this piece its crowning touch. The mirror is quite foged from age. And could be replaced. We have left it original for the next owner to decide. The piece was being stored and does need a good polish and cleaning. We took advantage of a clear evening when we shot the pictures last week as we had been having a lot of rain. The mirror frame is in very fine condition for a 19th century useful item. It could use some strenghtening on the one side back where the screw goes into the wood. The mirror front does have age cracks in the burled wood from shrinkage over time and age. With all this being said we are selling the mirror As Is due to its Antiquity. It is one of those rare pieces from the Empire period that we are lucky to even find in any condition. There are surely little nicks and dings from over 165 years ofr use. Up for sale we have a most attractive Antique Shaving Dresser Mirror. This piece can be used on top of a dresser or any place in the home a beautiful Antique mirror would be appreciated. The mirror is in outstanding condition for a piece from the late 19th century. The base has bun feet and the sides have nicely hand turned finials. The mirror measures 22 tall by 21" wide at the base by 9 1/2" in depth. The mirror itself is 16" tall by 15" wide in its frame. It works beautifully and has its original mounts in excellant shape. It stands up straight and firm with no wobbling. There are three spots on the base that have veneer chips(see pictures) There are a couple of surface scratches on the back covering that can be easily touched up. Antique Oval Wooden Mirror Walnut Mahogany
Here is an antique oval mirror. Mirrored glass is not beveled. The wood is dark. Maybe walnut or mahogany. It does seem to have stain on it. Some rough spots along the edge, and one small chip. But the carved wooden frame is still lovely, and the glass is not scratched, cracked or chipped. The way the back is finished makes me think this was a picture frame that someone turned into a mirror. 15 3/4 inches by 12 3/4 inches, and the wooden frame is about 1 1/2 thick. Lovely old Ogee Mirror or frame found at an Estate Sale in Virginia in the 1980s. Maintained in my non-smoking home. This is the perfect size for over a small bathroom sink. In a hall by the coat tree to check your hat, or tucked anywhere. Actual size is approximately 18-3/4" x 22-3/8. The frame is deep, with three main parts. The mahogany veneer has lovely variations/flames. The piece can be used as a mirror. Or would be lovely as a frame for a period portrait. The frame is in lovely condition with only one small area of veneer loss. It came with a thick. Heavy mirror and a substantial solid wood back. The back was semi-secured, and when I removed the nails, I found an inscription, which is shown in one of the photos. The mirror has some slight(but age appropriate) silvering losses. early-mid 1800's antique furniture Civil War era MIRROR w/ MAHOGANY veneer
This early 19th century mirror measures 15" high x 13" wide and is made with two separate mahogany veneered frames. The inside frame having a nice beveled surface. The two frames are held together using square nails and the hanger on top is made of brass. Condition: a couple small nicks to veneer. The largest being 1/4" and located at top right corner; some bruises and small cracks on wooden frame but nothing distracting from its overall look; the brass hanger is original though it was moved at one time because it loosened up; mirror was replaced and shows some cloudiness. Rare Antique Early 19th Century Mahogany Wall Mirror Carve Wood Brass Hardware. We are listing a very special early 19th century wall mirror in excellent condition. This mirror represents the best of the early craftsmanship of cabinetmakers long gone. This was from our personal collection the we have enjoyed for the last 50 years. We are downsizing and this is one of the pieces that has to go. It was refinished when we first acquired it and has been hanging with pride in our home all these years. The top crown of the mirror is decorated with tiny acorns all across the front. There are 21 of the tiny acorns, two are missing. Most of the framework on the mirror is made of mahogany and decorated with some cherrywood. The bottom mirror is original and has some tiny black wear spots. The top mirror has been replaced a long time ago, the five brass ... moremedallions are located on the edges and center top of the mirror. The top board of the crown was cracked and reglued when we got it, we have never done anything else with the crack and is still exposed, you can see it from the top only. There are a couple square handmade nails original, holding the crown to the frame. The patina on the back of the mirror is original and the color is to die for! The original hand chafed wood boards covering the mirrors are still on the frame. The size of the mirror frame is 39 inches tall, by 23 inches wide at the top, by 19 1/2 inches wide at the bottom. The top mirror is 8 1/2 X11!2" The bottom mirror is 11 1/2 X 17 1/2" If you have been looking for a quality antique wall mirror to decorate your home, you may want to give this one some thought. I'm guessing it has the sunlight hitting it on the right side for a hundred hears. This is made from one block of wood. No glue. The frame measures 11 1/2 inches diameter The mirror area is 6 inches diameter. The frame is 1 1/2 inches thick. The mirror is a replacement. The thumb tack was holding a string for hanging. Thomas Chippendale was a major contributor to furniture design in the 18th century and was celebrated for his book The Gentleman and Cabinet Maker's Director. Published in 1754.
