Across and the BRUSH is approx. 10 1/2 in. Long x 3 1.2 in. Across. The backs of the Brush and Mirror are" Off White Colored Silk or Satin" Gold Ormolu Flowers are all along the outer edges of the Brush and Mirror and are RAISED UP to give a 3D effect. The Fabric does show wear and some staining so you may want to replace it. The Hand Mirror is so clear but does show tiny scratches in places. This Set is in excellent condition other than the two items I mentioned. There are no markings anywhere to see who made it but I believe it is either Matson- Stylebuilt or even possibly Guildcrest. Victorian era Gesso/gold gilt mirror EXCELLENT
This is a fine antique Victorian era mirror in gold gilted Gesso. As you can see in the pictures most of the gesso work is near perfect for its age, in the last 2 pictures it may some aging(minor fissures) but nothing that is really noticable. The mirror came from the same estate as the table its on(not for sale) and the piece is an excellent example of that era, mirror has no flaking or crazing of any kind, I CANNOT include freeshipping on this item because it must be packed well and carefully so no damage occurs, must be insured as well, dimensions are 28" 1/2 inches wide x 20" 1/2 inches high measured by mirror, a little higher if on center because of ornate top, so add about another 4" inches if you are interested in on center. Flower pot at the top and also etched in the mirror. The top of this frame is the urn and it has been repaired. When we purchased this my husband couldn't believe the bad attempt to repair it so my husband took it apart and repaired it the right way. So from the front it's hard to tell it was ever broken off. This is about 37 1/2" tall and 19 1/2" wide(22" at the widest point) but the actual inside measurement would be 27 1/2" x 17 1/2" Both measurments are from the top of the arch to the bottom. Original condition with some gilt missing from the corvetto balls that dot the surround. Features an ebonized reeded slip at the rim of the convex mirror. There is a little black paint missing there also. The mirror has a couple of age spots but no major damage or fogging. The original metal link chain graces the reverse. There is an egg and dart motif on the four corners. A couple of the balls are a little loose but would only be noticed upon super close inspection. This is an excellent vintage mirror with an elaborate gold frame that is a molded hard plastic composite material. The condition all around is excellent and there is only one tiny scratch that is hard to see on the mirror. And the frame is flawless. There are two hangers on the back with a wire in between for easy wall hanging. This is a large mirror measuring 28 1/2 H x 18 1/2 W. This is a vintage or antique gold gilt mirror. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I am unsure of it's age. A sticker on the back reads Made In Italy. The mirror frame is light weight and I believe it is some sort of plastic. In very good, used and vintage condition, it measures 12" X 7 1/8" The back is lined with velvet and there is a hook at the top for hanging. FINE Walnut VICTORIAN Renaissance PIER Mirror GOLD Gilt BURL Inlay 3 DAY LISTING
Up for bids is this wonderful antique Victorian Pier Mirror or Hall Mirror. I believe it's from the Renaissance Period 1870s to 1890s. Very large size and heavy. Measures approximately 80" tall and 24" wide. At the widest point at the top crown. The side frame depth measures 2-3/4" but the top stands out approx. 8" It has inlay Burl wood and loads of Gold Gilt to the scroll work. The walnut finish is totally even in color. Some of the pics show it lighter towards the bottom. This is due to a spotlight shining on it so I could take descent photos of it. The backside has the wooden planks covering the mirror. I do not know if the mirror is original, it's in excellent condition. The marble base is missing. This piece is in great condition showing only very minor wear to the back corner edges, really not worth mentioning. ... moreThis is a pick up only item and only a 3 day listing. Large Antique Original Rococo Revival Wall Mirror: Gold Gilt Gesso; c 1840-70
This period Victorian Rococo Revival wall mirror dates from c.1840-1870. It is conducted of wood covered with gold gilt gesso. There are ornate carvings of floral designs(see pictures 4-8) and four desirable grape clusters(see picture 8 for an example) And the scrolled crest is very detailed and certainly accents the remainder of the frame. The mirror and frame is in good original found condition. The mirror itself is in very good condition with no known cracks or other damage. The wear is consistent and appropriate for the age and use. There are some minor chips of gesso and one section(see picture 9) has some small breaks in the gesso. In picture 10, there is one piece that would need to be reattached. The gold gilt paint is consistent over the entire frame and is still a good vibrant color. The original back is wooden and has the original ... morehanging wire( see picture 11) The approx. measurements are: 69" L; 32" W; and sets out from the wall a maximum 11 3/4" With a minimal amount of restoration, this period mirror would be the focal point in any setting. At the top is the original reversed painted folk art tablet painting depicting an actress on stage. There are some large air bubbles in the glass and some lifting of the paint, but overall this painting is in very good original condition. The bright mirror finish gilding and the satin finish gilding are original and there is some wear along the bottom column from years of cleaning. There also is some wear to the top edge of the lower right hand corner block and some chipping to the top edge of the upper left hand corner block. The rest of the gilding and the original four gilt brass rosettes are perfect. Fantastic Italian Mirror! Wonderful small ornate and gilded mirror from Florence Italy. Mirror measures 5.5" x 4.75" and is just great. Excellent carving. The gilding is near perfect and the overall condition is excellent. One small spot of roughness to the gilding on one corner(see photos) Does not detract at all. The backside is the great traditional florentine paper that you see on most of these small mirrors. The hanging loop is missing but it would be very easy to add a wire and hang either direction. this is a stunning vintage hand carved wooden convex wall mirror. it is a very large mirror and has a wonderful gold gilt finish. the mirror is circular and has a convex domed shape. the top is a large very ornate eagle with wings spread. He stands on the mirror with a long olive leaf in hand. the mirror has many dimensional spheres running around the whole border of the frame. the bottom also has very dimensional ornate detailing with a stylized floral design. the frame measures 30 3/4 by 22 1/2 inches. already has a hanging wire on the back ready for mounting. it is in great shape and no pieces missing. the actual convex mirror is fading a bit but still does work as a mirror. It is very pretty and you can see the difference in it compared to the standard gold leaf methods. Made in France.
