The mirror would rather“float” ... morebetween the iron frame. It has two decorative hinge type connectors that would secure the mirror. I am not a very“handy” type person and I cannot get the mirror inside this frame. It seems too wide. But I know that is just because I do not know how to secure it. This mirror definitely goes with this frame, so it has to fit. I know a“handy” type person could get it secured. If you are"unhandy. like me, you get 2 cool separate pieces! The frame is a cast iron or wrought iron black metal piece in very good condition– no rust– very good condition. The metal has a twisted ribbon like look. I have yet to find any maker’s mark on this piece. But it could be that I do not know where to look. Due to the design– a maker’s mark could be hidden. The mirror has a thick rough or scalloped type beveled edge. I was going to say no chips. But on closer I think there may possibly be a chip in one of the scallops. Rather hard to tell due to the decorative cut at the edges of the mirror. Also. As you can see, the silver or mercury backing has worn off in several places. It is an old piece. Exact age unknown– I do not know if this is an older vintage piece. As more of a 1950's Mid Century Modern, or if it is old antique– I assume collectors can tell by the mirror cut and the frame style- Size: The metal frame measures approx 12 3/4ths inches in length. The center cut-out measures approx 6 1/4 by 4 1/8th inches. The mirror measures approx 5 3/4ths by 3 5/8ths inches. It is approx 1/4 inch thick at the edges. Condition: The cast iron frame still looks very good. As you can see. The back of the mirror shows much wear. As stated above, the mirror has a thick rough beveled edge and it is difficult to tell, but there may be a chip on one of the scalloped edges. Antique Crackle Finish Wall Mirror Beveled Wavy Glass Wood Frame 28" X 34" 1497
This is a wood framed antique wall mirror with a nice size of 27.5" X 33.5" and is quite heavy. Has waves in the silvering on the back of the mirror as well as an old crackle finish that is in very good condition. Has a number of 1497 stenciled on the back. As you can see it is beveled glass and there is no chips or damage and I would highly recommend insurance. Has wonderful original vintage patina. I will start it at $49.99 and will ship for $30. Cast iron frame FLOATING mirror beveled edge vtg wall decor antique black metal
This piece has a cast iron or wrought iron frame that would hang on the wall and the beveled edge mirror fits within the frame. The mirror would rather“float” between the iron frame. It has two decorative hinge type connectors that would secure the mirror. I am not a very“handy” type person and I cannot get the mirror inside this frame. It seems too wide. But I know that is just because I do not know how to secure it. This mirror definitely goes with this frame, so it has to fit. I know a“handy” type person could get it secured. If you are"unhandy. like me, you get 2 cool separate pieces! The frame is a cast iron or wrought iron black metal piece in very good condition– no rust– very good condition. The metal has a twisted ribbon like look. I have yet to find any maker’s mark on this piece. But it could be that I do not know where to ... morelook. The center cut-out measures approx 6 1/4 by 4 1/8th inches. The mirror measures approx 5 3/4ths by 3 5/8ths inches. It is approx 1/4 inch thick at the edges. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. Superb and Most Unusual 19th Century French Wall Hanging Frame in Hand Mirror Shape with Classical Motifs. Putti, etc. This is an unusual item of high quality. The frame is of metal- possibly brass. This has at one time been silver plated but this has since been worn from the front- the reverse shows that the item was once plated. Definitely a wall hanging frame rather than a hand mirror, the ornate front has classical motifs whilst the reverse is flat and has a hanging ring. I would date it to Ca. 1870 and believe it is probably French in origin- but I may be mistaken. The item has a height of approx 30.6 cm. Very Large 32 1/2" Federalist Eagle Gold Convex Wall Mirror, Wood Frame Very Old
This mirror is in excellent condition. The glass is as close to mint as you can get. No fog, no scratches, no spots, no loss of reflective material. You can see where the mirror has been cleaned over the years. The frame is a wood frame mirror: 32.5" in height, 23 3/8" wide, and the convex mirror is 17 inches. The frame has just a tiny bit of age checking that you have to almost have your nose to the glass to see. There are some slight discoloration with the gold that would be typical of age. I have tried to show that in the photos. There is no loss of gold paint. But it looks to have had some retouches done over the years. I have no idea as to its age, but it looks to be old. Antique (19th C?) Wall Mirror w/Intricate Hand-Carved Artisan Figural Wood Frame
My grandparents bought this mirror& frame while antiquing in the Northeast US in the 1940's or 1950's. I would estimate that it's 19th Century. And I recall some talk of it being from a hotel or tavern that was closing down. Carved animal figures at top give an almost rustic look to it. But it has a kind of elegance(the carved'twist' side border and floral center at the top) that make it hard to pin down stylistically. Seems to be one-of-a-kind. As I see nothing like it at all in any Ebay listing, current or completed. Measures 43" high by about 25"at widest point. Dark wood could possibly be a stained cherry. But I'm not sure. The 15" X 27 1/2" beveled-edge mirror itself shows some age. And has a couple of spots that suggest it could me re-silvered or replaced, but there's no damage of ... moreany kind to the frame. Mid-Century Wall Mirror with Ornate Wood Frame. I'm not sure if this is Danish or not- my grandparents were Danish and had a lot of Danish items. The design is very elaborate on the top and sides of the frame. However, as stated in the condition description, the top part of the frame has several breaks and chips in it. If the mirror was replaced and the frame was restored this could be a nice item. I saw one similar go for a lot of money. But it needs some work. The frame from the end of the wood to the end of the wood measures approximately 32" by 23 3/4. The mirror area measures approximately 29 3/4" by 17 1/2. This small hanging mirror came from an auction in Vermont. I am unsure of it's age. It is double-framed. The top frame is a little loose. The frame has quite a few use/wear marks. The mirror has some marks under the glass. An 1/2" line and some spots, see all pictures. The frame measures 10 1/8 by 12 1/4 inches and 2 1/4" deep. Just the mirror measures 5 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches. When I saw this hanging Antique Empire Mirror in the foyer of a bay area Victorian I couldn’t resist it. It is not overly big and the perfect size for so many places. I don’t know what the technique is called that cuts the glass so fine with exceptional detailing. But I know there is a special name for it. The basket of flowers in the center is extremely detailed and my photos don’t really show the craftsmanship as I had hoped. This is an Antique Etched and Beveled Glass Mirror with 3 Shell Rose Buttons. It measures 27" high and 14 7/8" wide and is 1" deep. It is very old as you can see by the back of the mirror photo. Antique Foyer Wall Mirror Frame from mid 1800s Hat Form Mold
Here is an interesting excellent condition vintage mirror(thick glass) made from an antique hat form from around the mid 1800s which looks to be solid oak. The mirror glass is electro copper plated by Toledo plate company. The mirror is excellent and thick glass. The mirror could easily be removed to serve the purpose for use as forming your hats. The old markings say 6 3/4(hat size) and 915. There is a makers mark I cannot read but is something like"bramo" The hat form is over 11 inches long ways and 10 inches short way. It is 3 inches high. This has been very well taken care of all these years. This would look nice on the wall of your entry way or foyer. Etc. Please check the pictures and contact me for any questions.
