I finally decided to part with my great aunt's antique heavy ornate wall mirror. Antique Gold Leaf Wood& Gesso Wall Mirror. This mirror is just gorgeous and has been well maintained. The glass is in good condition.no chips. No cracks, no hairlines etc. The mirror needs to be cleaned. I have limited space, and that's why I'm selling it. There is a small water damage on one corner at the top right but when it's hanging the wall- no one can't tell. One corner of the mirror the same top right- a portion of wood approximately 1/2" x 1/2" wood came off. My mom. One time, when the gold was oxidized from age, had it restored with new gold leaf sheets. It hangs on the wall with wire which is intact. Up for Sale a Fabulous Antique Italian Florentine Rococo Highly Carved Wood Gold Leaf Wall Mirror Frame Shelf 25" Long. DESCRIPTION: Finials Fleur de lis Elaborate wood acanthus leaves are supporting the shelf Wood is just beautifully carved covered with bright gold leaves. The back side is just as beautiful and tells a lot about the workmanship. Cardboard back was taped on the back and it's loose. Nothing to be concerned about it. It looks like the mirror was replaced because is not beveled. MEASUREMENTS: 25" long 10 3/4" wide at widest point( shelf) Inner oval mirror 9" x 7 1/4" It stick out from the wall 4.5" Shelf is 3 3/4" wide at widest point x 8 3/4" long. CONDITION: Minor cracks are shown in last 3 pics. I have counted a total of 15 minor cracks. Shelf has some missing and repainted carved"ball" ... morerim( pic 4. 9) 75" missing carved"balls" rim. 2" roughly replaced( and repainted( not sure if that is visible on pic 9) 1" replaced repainted on the other end. I would do nothing as it won't be seen when displayed since it's on the upper shelf part as shown in pic 5. Otherwise great. Age related wear above described, solid and ready to decorate a wall! ANTIQUE OLD VICTORIAN FRENCH TWIST GOLD LEAF GILTWOOD FRAME MANTEL MIRROR 41"
This offering is for a beautiful and OLD. Victorian/Arts& Crafts large wall or mantel mirror. This gorgeous mirror features a substantial(chunky, if you will) solid wood frame made of turned wood with a center section of French or Barley twist accent. Trimmed similarly to an old window or door, the frame has four large corner blocks with an Arts and Crafts styled floral bouquet/basket appliques. The spool wood is hand fitted into the back wood frame which is also thick and substantial. The frame has been gilded and the color is now a beautiful, aged gold or bronzed color. The mirror is in very good condition for its age(early 1900s) There is some expected wear/aging to the patina of the wood. There are some minor scratches and chips but these are not distracting and actually compliment the character of the piece. There appears to have ... morebeen one minor repair to the frame where it meets the mirror. It appears as a piece was cracked and has been glued to secure it(see picture 11) It is holding quite well with no issues. The back is faced with paper. The old hangers have been removed with a center hanger attached. I think the mirror is too heavy for a single hanger so you may want to add an additional hanger. The mirror is meant to hang horizontally as the corner floral baskets dictate this(otherwise, they will hang side ways) The mirrored glass is in good condition with no chips, cracks or loss of back coating. The mirror is large and measures 41" wide and 21" tall. It extends 2.75" from the wall. The mirror glass is 33.5" x 13.75" The mirror is heavy and weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. This fabulous gold leaf mirror has been in our family for many decades, over 40 years that I personally recall. I believe the frame is made of wood, and gold leaf. An appraiser gave us an age of the mirror made circa 1920-1930. Measures aprox 44" tall and 27" wide. The back has a wire for hanging. And the back is covered in plain brown paper. SquareTrade © AP6.0 Beautiful Early 1900's'Hollywood Regency' Wood Framed Wall/Hall Mirror! Very Nice condition. Large, Heavy Glass Mirror with Gold Gilded Gesso over Wood frame. This Mirror is in very nice condition overall. But it does show some wear. There are a few spots where the gold gilt has'chipped' over the years, exposing the gesso underneath. There's also some overall wear to the gold as you can see in the photos. Note than on the left side(as you face the mirror) one of the'leaves' is missing, revealing the wood under it. Doesn't look'bad' but it is visible. This is most likely from the 1920's or 30's, but I could be off a decade on either side; it's definitely an older, early 1900's mirror, and looks very nice, especially considering its age! Please see photos for ... moredetail) This mirror is fairly HEAVY at appx 20 1/2 pounds. The paper backing has come off(just happened as we were loading it) exposing the wood back which is tacked into place as you can see in the photos. I don't see any identifying marks as to a maker. But it's very well made, ornate, and quite solid. MEASUREMENTS: Beautiful Decorative Frame is a large 34" Tall x 40" Wide(at it's tallest/widest points) And is about 1 1/2" thick. T he actual mirror(opening in frame) is 23 1/2" x 35 1/2" the main part of the wood frame is appx 1 1/4" Wide all around. Decorative Top. Sides, and Bottom add to this width) This weighs just under 22 pounds before packing(shipping weight is 28 pounds when safely packed& boxed) As you see in the pictures. This is Beautiful! Well made, in VERY Nice Condition- ready to hang/display in a hallway or on a wall. It's decorated with Leaves and Flowers, and the TOP features a Trophy Cup, surrounded by Leaves and topped with a pair of Flowers. a gorgeous antique/vintage mirror, and a Wonderful collectible!
