A wonderfully well preserved antique chippendale mirror with the original looking glass with all of its crackle and blemishes. A few of the wooden blocks on the reverse have been replaced prior to our obtaining the piece along with some of the nails. Scribed in early ink on the reverse side top appears to be a price of $550 or it could be $50 d. The eagle is solidly attached and there are no visible repairs to this item. Measurements are 31.5 inches tall by 16.5 inches wide. This looking glass was obtained from a Vermont lifetime collector of antique mirrors. Offered at a very reasonable price. Antique Gold Gilded Deep Round Mirror 19th Century Colonial Williamsburg Style
Exceptional old round mirror in wonderful condition without damage. There is not even any missing decorative gesso. The only minuscule crack I noticed is shown in pic#5 and is certainly in the category of normal for a piece this old. My guess is that it is from the late 1800s up to maybe 1920. Although I am not an expert. Most of my estimate of age is based on the patina of the finish and aging of the wood on the back. The paper dust cover is old but I am unsure if it is original. I know nothing about judging the age of mirrors so I don't know if it is original. There is a short faint line in the glass upon close inspection. The widest point is just over 23" the raised rim on the front is 21" in diameter, the mirror is just over 16" wide and the frame is 4" thick. The gold is more of a matte finish than the pictures, ... moreas the flash of the camera added some brightness. This is a great opportunity to add a featured piece to your decoration, or to include a rarely offered piece to your collection.

Rare Antique Early 19th Century Mahogany Wall Mirror Carve Wood Brass Hardware. We are listing a very special early 19th century wall mirror in excellent condition. This mirror represents the best of the early craftsmanship of cabinetmakers long gone. This was from our personal collection the we have enjoyed for the last 50 years. We are downsizing and this is one of the pieces that has to go. It was refinished when we first acquired it and has been hanging with pride in our home all these years. The top crown of the mirror is decorated with tiny acorns all across the front. There are 21 of the tiny acorns, two are missing. Most of the framework on the mirror is made of mahogany and decorated with some cherrywood. The bottom mirror is original and has some tiny black wear spots. The top mirror has been replaced a long time ago, the five brass ... moremedallions are located on the edges and center top of the mirror. The top board of the crown was cracked and reglued when we got it, we have never done anything else with the crack and is still exposed, you can see it from the top only. There are a couple square handmade nails original, holding the crown to the frame. The patina on the back of the mirror is original and the color is to die for! The original hand chafed wood boards covering the mirrors are still on the frame. The size of the mirror frame is 39 inches tall, by 23 inches wide at the top, by 19 1/2 inches wide at the bottom. The top mirror is 8 1/2 X11!2" The bottom mirror is 11 1/2 X 17 1/2" If you have been looking for a quality antique wall mirror to decorate your home, you may want to give this one some thought. Hi. I'm offering this rare Federal mirror, possibly made in Boston. The mirror dates from the early 19th century, circa 1800-1825. The design is bold and unusual with 4 girandole-type balls. One in each corner. The mirror has a hefty rope twist placed in a deep cove with 4 small acanthus leaves in each corner. The condition of the gilding is very pleasing. The original surface is evenly worn yet the mirror retains its splendor. Much of the burnished water gilding is still present. The mirror glass is a later 19th century replacement. There is some silver loss at the bottom of the plate. The back board appears to be original. Here is a fabulous very old Antique 19th Century Ornate Bronze Standing Dressing Table Shaving Mirror featuring Griffins. Cherubs, reticulated foliage, a torch top; all sensational. The mirror portion is tin that has aged to a bronzy patina with a foggy reflection. The easel portion has a wire replacement but does still stand. Late 18th- Early 19th Century Item# 120009EIE29 This is a simply stunning Louis XV Period hanging wall mirror of outstanding craftsmanship and design. Circa the period or just thereafter, possibly as late as the first few years of the 19th century. The workmanship is beyond remarkable, the entire frame carved of solid pine, covered in a thin gesso and painted with gold gilt paint. The level of piercing to the cartouche would have left the mirror vulnerable, but as looking at the back of the mirror it is clear this mirror has been very carefully cared for over the years. The original hand forged screws still hold pieces of the flowing cartouche to the main portion ... moreof the frame. The delicate balance of flowing and scrolling acanthus leaves and c-scrolls are interlaced with feather-like plumes that curl around and over the frame, wrapping around the kidney-shape glass of the mirror. STUNNING ANTIQUE LARGE 19TH CENTURY VENETIAN MICRO MOSAIC DECORATIVE MIRROR STUNNING 19TH CENTURY VENETIAN MICRO MOSAIC FRAMED MIRROR This truly beautiful example of Venetian micro mosaic in the form of a framed mirror dates from the mid to late 19th century. The mirror stands approximately 56cm tall and measures approximately 30.5cm at its widest point. The oval bevelled mirror measures 23.2cm x 17cm at its widest points. The micro mosaic frame is truly stunning the internal frame surrounding the mirror has a deep daisy wreath set against a turquoise micro mosic groun d. Within this is a bow set with RICORDO VENEZIA. This is in turn surrounded by a gilt frame. Above sits a detailed ornamentation of micro mosaic work of roses in a bowl. The mirror sits on a gilded scrolled frame overlaid by matching clear venetian glass to the base. This ... moreis supported by two bun feet. On the reverse of the mirror backing are some holes which suggest there was a wooden easel to allow the mirror to sit upon a dressing table, this could easily be replaced. There is also a fixing at the back to allow the mirror to be wall hung. Condition overall considering the delicacy and age of this item is good. The venetian glass base has a few chips. There are a few losses to the micro mosaic we have highlighted the worst areas in the photographs. Please forgive the odd tiny loss as these are difficult to identify unless you go over the whole piece with a magnifying glass! There is a loss to the top of the mirror to the gilded frame. Judging by the patina on the wood this would suggest the damage occured early in life. The mirror is in good condition a few tiny areas showing some wear. We have not attemted to clean it at all. Leaving that decision to the new custodian of this beautiful antique. A truly stunning piece superb as a stand alone item or would complement todays'shabby chic' interior decor to perfection. Antique 1800's Beveled Advertising Mirror Made by the C.D. Widman& Company of Detroit. Michigan Christian Widman. A German cabinetmaker, emigrated to the United States during the mid 1800s and established a small furniture shop in Rochester, New York. Business prospered, and he married Rosalie(Seifried) Widman, producing a son, name John Charles Widman, born in 1848, who learned the craft and took over the business in 1872. A cousin. C.D. Widman, had established a cabinetmaker’s shop in Detroit, Michigan in 1864 and invited John Charles to join him, which he did. John Charles returned to Rochester after a few short years, and began a new career in the grocery business. However, he returned to Detroit 10 years later to assume the presidency of his cousin’s furniture factory when C.D. became ill. During the ensuing years, C.D. This specific Mirror was an Advertising piece for their business of supplying fine mirrors to Barber Shops. It has a beautiful Medium stained solid wood frame with solid brass escutcheons& rings accenting both the left and right side( see close-up) The mirror is a Very Heavy thick beveled glass with the C.D. Widman& Company name etched into the back of the mirror as well as Barber Fixtures etched at the bottom leaving the surface of the mirror completely smooth. This back etching has allowed the printing to remain completely intact after years of use. There is a crack in the upper right corner but it does not pass through any of the advertising and appears to be solidly in place. There is also some of the mirror plating missing near the bottom right corner(see close-up) The back has a heavy duty wire for hanging. Antique Biedermeier Mirror - German Early 19th Century
This antique mirror comes from the Biedermeier period and style which lasted from 1815-1848. It was made of a medium brown wood. Possibly cherry in Austria or Germany. Above the mirror is a small simple floral decoration. Antique Mirror / Picture Frame. Stunning Gilt Gesso Moulding. 19th Century.
Beautiful Victorian Mirror/ Picture frame. The detail is gilt moulding in wonderful condition depicting oak leaves and acorns. It measures 74cm x 63.5 cms. Inside the measurements are 54.5 x 45cms. It is 5 cms deep. It houses a later mirror and the back is plywood. But I think it would have been a picture frame originally. There are 2 original iron rings to attach a cord. It looks beautiful as a mirror but will also be perfect housing an original painting. It is in great overall condition; there is a tiny loss to the gilt gesso, a few mms, hardly noticeable, on the inside, see pic. It has had worm at some point in the back, but this has long gone. I am auctioning this wonderful piece with great reluctance. It is a stunning piece and will look super hung in a traditional home.

The top has nails that hold in the knobs that decend from the upper molding of the mirror. The top corners have chips in the gilding. Upper left corner has a small crack on the column. The lower corners have lost some of the gilding. There are the original wiring hanging pieces across the back and a metal hanging loop in the center top of the back. Please read all details. This is old. The little white speckles in photos are dust and or paint. It has not been cleaned in any way. THIS IS NOT PLASTER. Guaranteed! Dates to the 1800's. Up for bids this very spectacular mirror dating from the mid 19th century. This piece is so gorgeous. I just can't tell you how gorgeous and heavy this piece is in person.I hope my photos will do it justice but I feel it's much more beautiful in person. This mirror& frame dates to around the 1860's-1880's. We do believe the piece is all original and has never been re-silvered or touched up in any way. The bevel around the mirror is amazing and the silver almost completely in tact. The size is fantastic. It measures just over 17" long by 13 1/2" wide. Most of the pieces like this were made in small frames.Daguerreotype frames, ... moreor hand mirrors. Nothing this large. It's just rare to see anything like this. More common was the vanity or mourning items, The subject matter is so out there and detailed. Two nudes on the top of the frame. They really resemble mermaids rather than nude humans. Each side of the frame is slightly different in the detail as if it was carved. At the base is a winged Cherub or Putti. On the sides are cornucopias. The perimeter of the frame has many facets. Not a straight cut, please see photos. I'm not sure what this is made of. It is very heavy. It is either Gutta Percha or Bois Durci. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Any info is always greatly appreaciated. Condition is excellent. Please see photos for full condition. No real damage to the piece itself other than a piece missing in the back. It is amazing.
