This elegant late Victorian piece was made by the National Brass& Iron Works of Reading, PA, which was established in 1891. NB& IW specialized in manufacturing fine decorative brass and iron objects until it went out of business in 1911. The dimensional detail and reticulated metalwork found on this lovely gilded metal frame make it a stand-out. The piece features an ornate scrolling foliate and floral design. As seen in the photos. The frame also fits nicely on an easel so it could be used on a dresser or table if desired. It would make a nice mirror for a young girls vanity, great Christmas gift.
