This is an absolutely beautiful Antique Spanish Baroque Mirror in what feels like solid plaster. This is a big and heavy one. Weighs almost 10 pounds and measures 27 inches long x 17 1/2 inches at the widest point x 2 1/2 inches at it's thickest point. Mirror looks like it's made from 1/4 inch glass. Beautifully detailed and even has a vintage repair as can be seen in the last photo which is supplied for your inspection. Made to look like it was carved from a single wood panel and is intricately painted and embellished with gold. This beautiful mirror belonged to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and all her possessions have sat in storage in my parents garage not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. Recently purchased at estate sale. This mirror is dusty and will benefit from a gentle cleaning. Overall condition is good, with only a few cracks and no wooden losses. Golden painted finish is original but may have been retouched in spots. There are losses to the finish in various spots, and the finish in some areas is brittle and lifting off, as is common with finishes of this age and type. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE MIRROR! We are pleased to offer this UNIQUE. Older vintage(mid 20th Century) French or Italian wall mirror. The exceptional mirror is MASSIVE and measures 57" tall and 40" wide. It features an extremely ornate and intricately detailed frame. The frame(an Italian Florentine type hard foam synthetic) features large acanthus leaves and drapery accents as the primary background. Large cherubs/angels are found on the upper and lower frame center. Centurions/warriors are featured(back profile with no face detail) on each center side. The North Wind face is on each lower corner and a small"devil face" is located on the bottom center of the frame and is surrounded with an acanthus leaf, heart shaped medallion. Centurion helmets, horns and drums are also found in the details as are corded strands which intertwine ... morewith the acanthus leaves. All of the features are accomplished in a very deep relief so there is an abundance of texture to the frame. The frame is finished with an oversized acanthus leaf topper. This is a beautiful frame, exceptionally detailed. The colors are cream or ivory and a rose/purple which are all"glazed" with a golden color. The mirror and frame are in very good condition. There are some very minor paint chips. But they are very hard to notice and can be easily resolved. There is nothing distracting. The glass is beveled around the edges and is free of chips, cracks or discoloration. The backing is paper(looks like it has been replaced) with two fairly new hanging brackets. This gorgeous antique Italian mirror was made in Parma. Italy. It has a unique upside down tear drop shape with rich carvings and great gilt. Ornate Antique Oval Picture Frame Cast Brass or Bronze Gold Baroque Wall Mirror
This cast brass picture frame has been converted from an easel back photo frame and to a mirror made to hang on the wall. The frame measures 11" by 9" across the outer rim with a 5" by 4" wide opening for the mirror. There is a metal plate on the back attached with four flat head screws and a wire that goes from each side to hang on the wall. This is not cast iron and metal is not magnetic. It is very heavy and metal feels cold. I have had this for many years and it looks very nice on the wall. You could remove the mirror if you wanted to use for a picture or photograph. Vintage gold framed mirror. There is a stamp on the paper backing that says Nov 4 1968. So it is at least that old. Features scroll work at the top. With draping curtain style on the side. Very detailed mirror. It measures appx. 54 1/2" high by 29 1/2" wide including the frame. This is a very large heavy mirror. The mirror and frame have no condition issues. The gold in the mirror is a reflection. There are some marks and tears on the paper backing as seen in the photos. The paper gets brittle with age. Will be packed with bubble wrap and peanuts. The mirror is made of wood with a wood and wire trim in a floral motif. It is oval in shape and measures overall 42” high by 25 ½” wide. The mirror frame by itself is 31 ½” long by 25 ½” wide. The glass only is 29 ¼” high x 23” wide. The thickness of the wood frame is 1 ¼” This mirror is all original and has no damage or repairs the glass has no chips and all the silver is present. It is really dirty and could use a good cleaning to restore the gilt look. I am leaving that up to the buyer. It is wired and ready to hang. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique wall mirror. This unique mirror features an ELABORATE. Carved wood frame with foliage, large shell scrolls and a carved, beaded accent around the glass. The frame consists of 4 sections. The center frame around the glass and 3 hinged sections. The top section is arched with acorn/pineapple feature at the top of the carved foliage. The side sections are wide at the bottom and graduate toward their tops. They feature very large shells or"c" scrolls at the corners. These sections are hinged to fold back and lay flat against the mirror backing. The mirror is flat on the bottom and would be stunning over a mantel, entry table, etc. The frame is wood, not a composite. The carving of the side and top pieces is full bodied in that it is opened in a fretwork style. The framing around the glass ... moreis carved but solid. The wood has a gold gilded/painted finish which is old and this is not a newly painted piece. Beautiful! The mirror is in good condition with the beveled glass having only very minor areas of slight aging. The frame is also very good. One of the bottom corners has a broken end which is very hard to notice amid the busy carved pattern. The mirror backing has been replaced at some point with plywood and it is not original to the mirror. Some sealed the plywood with silicone but it can be scraped off easily if you chose to do so. The screw in hangers are vintage but not original and there is hanging wire attached to the hangers. The mirror measures as follows: When unfolded. The frame is 44" tall and 41.75" wide. It folds to a size of 33" tall and 22.5" wide. The glass is 25" tall and 16" wide. The frame measures just over an inch in thickness. This is a weighty piece. Up For Sale An Antique Baroque Florentine Gold Gilt Carved Wood Large Wall Mirror Shelf. Wood is well carved covered with rich gold leaves. The top is decorated by a wood fleur de lis. It looks like the mirror was replaced. Condition: Paint has two minor cracks shown in pics 9 and 10. Left side edge of shelf has a 5" perimeter repairs. Replaced rim, in addition to.3/4" missing rim( shown in last two pics) The right side rim edge has a 1" repair replacement that I'm not sure it could be seen in pic 4( otherwise I can send a closeup under request) This doesn't take away from its solidity and strength since rim in question is decorative and was added later for decoration. I absolutely love this mirror! I salvaged this in 2 pieces& it was completely falling apart. With a little TLC. My husband& I were able to bring it back to life: This mirror is probably around 100 years old or more! It is such a pretty ornate carved wood frame…not composite! Mirror glass has beveled edge. There are 2 small areas of the gesso detailing are missing. Mirror frame has been painted in layers of white& creamy white chalk paint. Slightly distressed to show original gold throughout and given a top coat of protective wax. Mirror has some aged glass and shows patina, but as expected with a piece this old! Mirror still has a nice reflection and is in very good condition! This mirror has so much Shabby& Cottage charm and is a definite decorator’s piece! Like all antiques. This eighty year old mirror has some age issues and shows normal wear, I will try to describe this mirror as accurately as possible. Please feel free to email me with questions. The mirror is made of wood with a wood and wire trim in a floral motif and a Gesso finish. It is in remarkably good condition given it's age. It is oval in shape and measures overall 42” high by 25 ½” wide. The mirror frame by itself is 31 ½” long by 25 ½” wide. The glass only is 29 ¼” high x 23” wide. The thickness of the wood frame is 1 ¼” I don't know if the glass is original as it looks too new, the glass has no chips or cracks and all the silver is present. The only damage that I see is a barely noticeable small piece missing from the back side of the top roseette(see the third photo) It is wired and ready to ... morehang. 1930 Antique WHITE SEID 25 x 25 Baroque Gesso & Wood Framed Mirror
Your viewing an antique 1930 White Seid Baltimore Boroque Mirror. The mirror is hand carved wood and gesso with a gold finish. I believe this was an original wood gesso combination originally in which the gold or bronze tone was added. CONDITION: The morror has a few minor age spots as shown. The frame has some minor cracks that are very small and visable only by looking very close at the frame. The backing has its original paper with the White Seid logo sticker still in tact. As you can see the paper has major wear but it can easily be replaced if preferred. Measurements: The entire frame is 25 inches long and 25 inches wide. The mirror measures 24 inches wide. The weight of the entire peice is almost 12 pounds.
