Antique Bradley & Hubbard Ornate Cast Iron Bronzed Bacchus Mirror Frame
Antique ornate cast iron bronzed mirror frame depicting the head of the Greek God Bacchus. The rest of the frame is a tremendous amount of work in the Art Nouveau style. This has the original formed tin sheet that is the backing to hold the mirror in the frame. There is no mirror. A replacement will be required and can be acquired at any glass and mirror shop in almost all towns and cities. They are inexpensive. This is marked B&H, and has a bronze ring to hang it with. Manufactured around 1870. It is almost identical to an easel bronze Bacchus bronze mirror frame I have listed as well. But the easel mirror frame is not marked. Both were acquired from the same estate and they were used as a set, one on a parlour table, the other hanging above it. The two bottom corners of this piece have no feet as does the easel frame, and less flourish ... moreon these two corners. It is impossible to tell if this was manufactured this way as part of this set, or if an early owner had it customized this way to hang above the easel frame in my other listing. At the top is a portrait of Bachcus, the Roman God of wine and intoxication. The nickle plating is in excellent condition and most of these that you see are in a brass finish. I have taken pictures with and without a flash. The first are it's true color and the others look gold but are there just to show better detail. The mirror is in nice condition for it's age with only a little light spotting near the top. The sconce arms are a bit loose and may need a different screw to hold them tighter to the piece. The double-bevel mirror is framed by intricate metal leaf and curved designs. And has a round easy-to-hold handle. The mirror is clear, although the photo picked up surrounding browns. The mirror is tin backed. It has imperfections in the upper right near the frame. At the top back of the frame is the distinctive B& H embossed mark, assuring quality. The dark metal is in excellent condition; the gilt is worn, especially on the handle. There is a raised 1995 on the back, which I believe is the item number. Antique Victorian Bradley and Hubbard Figural Vanity Mirror
Nonna's Keepsakes is proud to present this lovely Victorian antique vanity mirror from the mid to late 1800's. This Bradly and Hubbard creation depicts an angelic design with two kissing cherubs at the top of the cast iron mirror. A male angel on the left side and a female angel on the right side. Floral designs are used in a flowing cascade from the cherubs to the adult angels on both sides of the mirror. There is a gold gilt wash over the cast iron which is visible throughout this mirror's design with some of the gold visible in the photos. This item is numbered 744 on the back of the frame, at the top on a cherub's wing, with possibly a fourth number which is not legible. This item stands 11 inches in height, 10 3/4 inches in width and has beveling around the mirror approximately 1/2 inch wide. The mirror has a very small ... morebubbled spot below the frame between the 6 and 7 o'clock position. If you tip the frame just right, it will be visible, but not large enough to capture on film. This is a manufacturing defect, not a chip. The mirror has a very slight hazing which we attempted to show in the photos. The back of the mirror has a full swivel stand and the original screws and pins. The color of the item is shown most accurately on the cherubs and angels. We found no cracks, chips, repairs or replacement parts on this item. We consider this item to be in excellent used conditon. Marked B&H with the number 3581 so I am assuming that it's by Bradley& Hubbard. The metal is very heavy and a magnet sticks to it. So I'm guessing that it's cast iron. I am not sure that the gold finish is original but it looks like it. Mirror is nicely beveled and in very good condition, just a tiny bit of the silver is missing. I'm not sure that the easel is original and it is only attached to the frame with a heavy wire, however it does fit all it needs is a small bolt and nut. Bradley & Hubbard Antique Mirror with candle sticks
Beautiful example of Bradley and Hubbard work. Solid cast brass mirror with accessory triple candlestick. All original including hanging ring on back of piece. Highly ornate as was the style of B&H work. North Wind face guards the top and appears to blow on the candles. Overall size 16" x 10" Sits off wall 8" for candles. Mirror is in wonderful condition and is beveled. Measures 8" x 5" Cast into back is B&H and#3504 and#3509(see pictures) This mirror has not been pinpoint dated but is approximately 100 years old. This is a very nice quality antique solid gold gilded bronze Bradley and Hubbard Bacchus figural wall mirror. it is made from very thick bronze. Has a lovely gold gilded finish, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. it is extremely ornate and has a wonderful cut out floral/scroll design. it is nicely footed with a detailed hanging hook in-between them. the top has a very large dimensional portrait depiction of Bacchus. the original mirror has a great beveled edge and has a nice shape. it is signed on the back B&H and is numbered. in nice antique condition measuring 15 inches tall by 10 inches wide. very nice quality Victorian mirror. Antique 1800's decorative Bacchus design mirror? Unsigned Bradley& Hubbard to start a new paragraph use- This auction is for a wonderful antique 1800's Victorian era Baccus design decorative mirror. I believe this is an unsigned Bradley& Hubbard. The stand is no longer. But it does have a center ring for wall hanging. This very ornate beveled glass mirror stands 15 inches tall and measures 10 inches wide. Wonderful old patina. I believe it is brass. Brass back plate is attached with screws. As found.right lower glass corner has a chip and the mirror needs re silvering. Nice very early mirror example of the early Art Nouveau era. Very old cast metal wall mirror, un-signed attributed to Bradley& Hubbard, beautiful bezel mirror, beautiful condition with a very rich age patina, the mirrors measures 15" by 9.25" Only condition issues is there are 2 very small scratches in upper right on mirror. Might not be able to see it zoomed in. Can be used on a table or has a hole loop on back for hanging.
