There are some hair line cracks around the plaster part of the frame though they do not go all the way through(see photos) The cracks add beautifully to the character of this piece. Giving it that lovely aged look while still remaining very sturdy and solid. The face of the frame. Made from plaster of Paris on a wood base. There are two stout hangers on the back that are not of the same time period that the frame was made. The back of the frame really shows it's age as the covering is quite worn. This pair of intricately carved Italian mirrors are so breathtaking. They will quickly become one of your most cherished possessions. Each Mirror measures 22 x 47inches and is excellent condition. The mirrors themselves measure 13.75 x 24 and are in perfect condition. The gilding is a lovely muted gold that shows some places where a bit of red shows through. These frames are an early 20th century reproduction of the George III style which features elaborate scrollwork with pierced woodworking. They are marked on the back Made in Italy. On sale this week is a beautiful old acid etched mirror. Depicts what looks like a saint. You can see the halo over her head. Lovely long flowing gown with flowers on both sides. She is holding something but I'm sure what it is. The frame is awesome. Nice patina on this old gilt. Made of a very lightweight wood/gesso material. It has a holy water font on the front. I'm sure it would have had a liner of some sort at one time but is now missing. I kept some Rosary beads in there. Please check out all of the photos to help with the description. There is some natural crackling from age and where someone had hung with a wire it has thinned on the middle area. Some very old chips to the top of the gesso which has aged perfectly with the rest of the frame. Crack at the right side just above the font. Spots on the mirror. It looks like the mirror was replaced. Condition: Paint has two minor cracks shown in pics 9 and 10. Left side edge of shelf has a 5" perimeter repairs. Replaced rim, in addition to.3/4" missing rim( shown in last two pics) The right side rim edge has a 1" repair replacement that I'm not sure it could be seen in pic 4( otherwise I can send a closeup under request) This doesn't take away from its solidity and strength since rim in question is decorative and was added later for decoration.
