Antique Gold Gilded Deep Round Mirror 19th Century Colonial Williamsburg Style
Exceptional old round mirror in wonderful condition without damage. There is not even any missing decorative gesso. The only minuscule crack I noticed is shown in pic#5 and is certainly in the category of normal for a piece this old. My guess is that it is from the late 1800s up to maybe 1920. Although I am not an expert. Most of my estimate of age is based on the patina of the finish and aging of the wood on the back. The paper dust cover is old but I am unsure if it is original. I know nothing about judging the age of mirrors so I don't know if it is original. There is a short faint line in the glass upon close inspection. The widest point is just over 23" the raised rim on the front is 21" in diameter, the mirror is just over 16" wide and the frame is 4" thick. The gold is more of a matte finish than the pictures, ... moreas the flash of the camera added some brightness. This is a great opportunity to add a featured piece to your decoration, or to include a rarely offered piece to your collection.

I have for sale a wood gesso black/gold mirror with gilded top It has an hexagon top- square bottom The mirror has some very faint black dots that is normal with aging. The back still has the brown parchment paper although there is a rip in the paper. it is a beautiful old mirror and is in great shape for its age. There are two tiny little marks on the bottom of the frame where the black gesso has worn off(see picture- hardly noticeable at all) It is 22 1/2 inches long an 11 1/2 inches wide. Antique Gold Gilded Art Deco Triple-3-Wall Mantel Mirror-1924-Cleveland Glass Co
Very elegant mirror made by Cleveland Window Glass and Door Co. The mirror would have came with that real thin brown fiber paper on the back. These usually get stored in an attic or basement and that stuffs just falls of thru the years. I have got some of the brown packaging paper at wall mart and recovered these. I've learned with antiques. It's best to leave them like you find them. I bought this one and another triple mirror at an estate sale and you could tell both of them had been stored for many years. It is good and solid and well built. You have the normal patina here and there on the frame and on the mirror. There's no major places on the mirror. It's hard to get pics of the small places in the mirror itself but it's nothing out of the ordinary you would find on a mirror this age. In fact, I'd rate it much ... morebetter than most because there are none of the usual large patches or the places you often see around the edges where the backing of the mirror is coming off. If you look at the 2 mirrors on each side of the center one, you'll notice something very unusual for a mirror made at this time. The mirrors have the effect of being 4 small mirrors put together to form a large one but it's not, it's actually a beveled groove cut in the glass shaped like a"V" Very unusual to see this done in the 20's, I didn't know they had the tools to even make such cuts in glass then. I've bought a lot of mirrors and I've never seen one cut like those are. It gives the whole mirror an entirely different look. It's also one of those pieces that hung in any room commands attention when you walk in. It's not too flashy but you can't possibly overlook it either. It measures 41 1/2" long.it's 18" high in the center and 14 1/2" on each side of the ornate center top piece. Let me know if you have any questions. A charming and beautiful open work hand carved gold gilded gesso beveled mirror. The swirling ancanthus leaf motif with curved fleur de lis in each corner lend romantic French touches. The gilding has crackling and in one corner there is a crack and the plaster is exposed. One corner has a piece of plaster missing and you can see this in the first photo. The large vanity mirror tray measures 23" long by 16 and 1/4" wide by 2 and 1/4" deep. The personal hand mirror measures 5" wide by 13 and 3/4" tall by 1/2" thick. The jewelry box measures 11 and 1/4" long by 5 and 1/4" wide by 3 and 3/4" tall.
